Today I got the Play Arts Kai Quiet figure from Metal Gear Solid V. Big Boss should arrive soon, as well.
I'm just a bit insecure about the Quiet figure. I know this squeezable boobs story was a bit exaggerated and they are not supposed to be extra squeezable and the upper body is just made out of a softer plastic compared to the non rotating body parts.
But I read something about bootlegs without that 'feature'. That's what makes me worried since on my figure it requires relatively a lot of force to get any movement and doesn't really feel that squeezable. Compared to some youtube videos they look harder. On her back though the same body part on the edges to the arms the plastic is very soft. So it's probably not a general change in material. But not sure why/if mine is different.
Besides that I'm quite happy with the quality. I head a lot of bad comments about Play Arts Kai figures and their quality and usually don't like figures with articulation and that's the first one I bought. But she looks fine and the painting is good. Only her bikini top looks more blueish than black in direct light.
Anyway I hope I didn't get a bootleg. Not sure how likely this is though. I bought her from the European Square Enix store. Or could this be possible?

did you read about the bootleg thing on some figure forum? cuz I was worried about that too when I read that there but I don't think any bootlegs for her are available anywhere atm. the final version appears to have made her boobs less soft. I'm guessing it's either from backlash or maybe the materials just don't hold up over time so they changed it (for the better).
in any case, no worries. and if you bought it from SE store themselves, it's not a bootleg either. she's a pretty awesome figure but pretty large. I ordered Venom Snake and I'm curious of the scale between them now.

I read it on reddit and some receptions about people getting figures with softer boobs and some with harder as if there were different versions. Not really sure what's true. Maybe some where just expecting softer versions. They are still moveable but not really that soft.I think a more stable material is certainly better, so I don't mind the change. Which version of Venom Snake did you order? I think I saw 3 different colour versions of the default outfit and then the new version with the sneaking suit. In the end I decided to get the default dark green one. That looks closes to the outfit I have him wear in the game.

And I got Snake from the US amazon. They have 15 left from the green version for $100. With shipping and import taxes that was still cheaper than to buy him locally for me.
Maybe not too late to start collecting

Don't know if it's the right place to post this. I got the Sphero BB-8 yesterday. Gotta say, I'm left pretty cold by it. Save for the quite cute curious head motions it makes, the sounds come from your tablet / phone rather than the unit itself, so it takes away a lot of the charm.
Set it on patrol and it's supposed to assess it's surroundings so that it knows in future not to bump into things. Well after about half an hour it was still bumping into the same walls in the living room, but it did remember one of the doors and where the rug is.
All in all it's really quite expensive just to sit on the shelf once the novelty's worn off. I purchased it for my Son for when he's a bit older. But I can see it being used for 20 minutes and put down. Think I'll be sending it back.

Check out the other BB8, sold exclusively at Target. I'm getting this one for my son instead. I wasn't too thrilled that i'd need a phone or tablet to control the sphero version and the Hasbro version does everything that one does and the sounds some from the droid as well.

well, normal figures are already $40+. i'm guessing it'll be double for double the size. maybe it'll be $60 or same price as the figures if we're lucky.

100$ for a mini revo would be a lot, even for a horse, hoping for the 60~70$ range.
Get him, Mini Revoltech is the only line doing regular grunts, good for set pieces.
You can't just have ONE from a series man, you just can't! get D-Dog a least!
I am hoping for less than that since it's Mini Revol.

Anyone know if anyone else is going to be doing some MGSV figures? Playing through now and the hype is strong. Just don't want to get a Play Arts Kai figure. And even if I did, I'd want Quiet to go with Snake and that figure is going for upwards of $400.

Bah! I was hoping for something less expensive when compared to PAK with more quality, like Bandai or even someone in the states like NECA.
I have a few 12" MGS figures though, the old MGS 3 Snake Eater Snake with Alligator head and 12" Raiden and Solid Snake from MGSIV. I want to say Medicom made these. They weren't anywhere near the cost 12" figures are going for these days. (And to be fair Snake from MGSIV isn't that great).

I own one and I like the look of the Black Series better, although it's not as high quality in some respects so neither are ideal representations. Heck watch some video reviews of the Hot Toys versions you'll find tons of complaints on those too. At some point you just gotta settle if you want to own anything. It's easy to see why some people just collect simpler items like Funko POP! because they are so stylized that you don't have any concerns about how accurate it looks, yet they still look cool on your shelf.
YESSSSS I don't care that I just bought Big Boss from MGS3. I want one from MGSV as well. I wish Hot Toys will also do RE6 Chris Redfield. *sigh*
