I saw that earlier and, man... I'm a huge Batman fan but am just not sure I'm down for that. I want to keep my vinyl collection pretty small, mostly game scores with a few movie ones, and need to draw the line somewhere. It does have some of the best episodes though...

I was once the same way. I can't even see the line anymore. It's quite liberating
and expensive :(

I recently broke the seal on amiibo collecting too. Do not tempt me to further ruin, my friend.

Now what I'd grab in a second is a single of the Mask of the Phantasm opening theme. That's my absolute favorite piece of Batman music.

Journey update emails going out. Hoping to ship out end of October now. They say it was an audio issue with the first pressings. Wonder what it was, exactly?

Just got an email from Data Discs.

DATA003: SHINOBI III
Continuing our exclusive partnership with SEGA, we are delighted to announce our vinyl release of ‘Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master’ (or ‘The Super Shinobi II’, as it is known in Japan). With music composed by Hirofumi Murasaki, Morihiko Akiyama and Masayuki Nagao, ‘Shinobi III’ is a relentless bass-driven soundtrack which, upon its release in 1993, pushed the Mega Drive’s audio capabilities to its limit. Its strong percussive elements are something of a technical marvel and, like all of the greatest soundtracks of the 16bit era, showcases the ingenuity and resolve of game composers when faced with extremely limited hardware.

With audio sourced directly from a Japanese Model 1 Mega Drive (AV Intelligent Terminal, VA5 with stereo output mod) and painstakingly remastered for vinyl, ‘Shinobi III’ should appeal to anyone with even a passing interest in video game culture, FM synthesis or electronic music in general.

180g vinyl packaged in a 400gsm matt finish sleeve with traditional OBI strip. All copies also include a foldout poster featuring the original Japanese artwork, sourced from the SEGA archives.

Available in the following editions, each priced at £19.99:
180g oxblood and bone split coloured vinyl (limited edition and exclusive to the Data Discs website, while stocks last)
180g oxblood coloured vinyl
180g classic black virgin vinyl
Copies will be available from Friday 2nd October on www.data-discs.com and www.mondotees.com.

PLEASE NOTE: Copies ordered directly from us will begin shipping approximately one week after they go on sale, with Mondo copies following soonafter.

DATA004: SUPER HANG-ON
Using audio sourced directly from the 1987 arcade machine sound board, we are proud to present the first ever vinyl pressing of SEGA and Yu Suzuki’s classic driving game, ‘Super Hang-On’. Featuring music by Koichi Namiki, Katsuhiro Hayashi and Shigeru Ohwada, ‘Super Hang-On’ was one of the defining arcade games of the 1980s and had a soundtrack to match. With audio carefully extracted, restored and remastered specifically for vinyl, this classic soundtrack is sounding better than ever.

Housed in a meticulously designed custom die-cut sleeve, on 400gsm matt finish cardstock, with 300gsm printed inner sleeve and a traditional OBI strip. 180g vinyl cut at 45rpm for maximum driving power!

Available in the following editions, each priced at £19.99:
180g opaque tri-colour segment vinyl (limited edition and available exclusively from the Data Discs website, while stocks last)
180g classic black virgin vinyl
Pre-orders for this release will open in early-November, with copies expected to ship in December.

FURTHER AHEAD
We are also very excited to announce two more titles which, amongst many others, will feature in our 2016 line-up. First of all, we’ll be continuing our partnership with SEGA for a true arcade classic, OUT RUN, again sourcing the audio direct from the original arcade machine. We will also be collaborating again with Yuzo Koshiro on one of the greatest and most influential game soundtracks of all time: STREETS OF RAGE 2.

Covers for the new DDs:

DD001 (Streets of Rage) and DD002 (Shenmue) will also get reprints later this year, at some point.

Finally, we just want to say huge thanks to everyone who’s purchased either ‘Streets of Rage’ and/or ‘Shenmue’ since May. They have been a great success and will be repressed later in the year for those who missed out (note: this applies to the translucent colour editions only). We’re looking forward to sharing many more exciting titles in the future, so we hope you stick with us!

Woulda preferred Revenge, but Shinobi 3 will be mine.

SHO is a must-buy as far as I'm concerned. The 3D Classic release made me a fan, and the soundtrack absolutely bangs.

The Hang-On slipcover looks excellent too. Really nice attention to detail.

OutRun is the announcement that's got me really excited there, though. Magical Sound Shower has been my ringtone for a while now.

It really is. I pick and choose what I want from iam8bit. DatsDiscs has me with the numbering.

If Bravewave numbers their generation series, I'm totally fucked.

With Data-Discs, I'm probably all-in sequentially until the first non-Sega title.

Other than the stuff that's been confirmed, I'd love to see some Spencer Nielsen's Ecco the Dolphin stuff, Howard Drossin's Comix Zone stuff, and Jon Holland's Vectorman stuff. Dunno if they're interested in Western Sega games and composers tho.

I'm not going to lie, the whole numbering each release is fucking genius on their part. There is not a chance I don't buy every single thing they put out because of it. Can't have any holes in my collection!
I've been good, only got SoR so far, but I was a Nintendo kid. What's tempting me with the next batch is Shinobi, but that's recent for me (3D Classics, only played it with friends as a kid as I only owned a SNES during that era). SoR2 is a must. I guess I'm OK with the gaps for now but I hear you! That type of stuff usually works on me 100%.
