That was resolved but they cut the resolution.
There was another A block contestant that beats them both, a new character

The anime skipped over a scene that happened right after that would have even further teased a second season which I assume if we get one they'll flash back it in with some
"but man nobody saw that last guy coming"
. You really can't introduce
another rival who's a rather big antagonist
in the last few minutes unless you're really confident s2 is happening.

For some reason I'm not surprised. I guess that's as much spotlight as the non Soma/Megumi members of Polar Star are allowed to have :p

I'm always curious for good thing

The only problem is I don't like the original from what I watch, so its gonna be slog to catch up.

Hisashi Hirai did do the character designs but it feels somewhat less Hirai in EXODUS if that makes any sense.

I really like Fafner, if only for the fact that tonally it feels very different from a lot of the recent mecha I've seen. It's hard to describe but you might be able to pick up on what I mean if you do decide to finish it.

Hyouka - 16

Good episode but I hope Juumonji gets revealed soon. Gotta say, I wasn't expecting him to go after the Light Music Club. Poor Mugi, Ritsu, Yui, Mio, and Azuza. :p

Boring eps to end boring and disappointing season
Too much filler and pedophiles joke, and there's no awesome fight to made all the pedo shit worthwhile to stomach.. any amount of french kiss scene won't enough for the lack of chuuni and fight, awful.

I'm not sure happy with 4th season announcement after seeing how bad this season is.

What's the watching order?

Maybe I'll run it through while waiting my Steam download.

Prison School #12

LEWD

I still don't know what to make of Hana. Is she a sadist? Tsundere? Bipolar? I can't really grasp what's on her mind. A true enigma. It's like the writer thought up the most ridiculous and lewd act imaginable for the sole purpose of shock and awe instead of creating character growth. I feel like the writer in general isn't interested in writing believable characters. There are still unexplained plot points, like Chiyo being disgusted by Kiyoshi for having her school uniform in his bag. Yet it's been swept under the rug. Perhaps the sequel will flesh out the characters more. God knows they're trying to come up with interesting plot twists. In the meantime, I will eagerly await the inevitable fanart.

The characters are much better developed in the second arc of the manga (chapter 82 and onward, right where the anime ends), and there actually is real character growth albeit still mixed with Prison School's utter absurdity (example: there's a subplot going on for like 80 chapters now about a woman trying to become the perfect S&M queen for Andre, and it goes a long way toward fleshing out both characters and developing them). Hana's basically the best character in the whole thing. If you thought the kissing was lewd, just wait until you get to
holding hands
.

As for the uniform, that was covered during the show/during the first arc. Kiyoshi explained to Chiyo exactly how that happened and she accepted his explanation.

Fafner: Dead Aggressor (original TV series), Right of Left (prequel OVA), Heaven and Earth (movie sequel), then Exodus (TV sequel).

I approve.
That shuttle sequence was too good of an intro, it made the rest of the episode look bland in comparison.

Just watched a film called Junkers Come Here, and man what a beautiful film it is. I'll have a review up for it when I get the chance, hopefully soon, but man this is a phenomenal film. Visually its one of the best looking films I've seen, a gorgeous film with no bad bone in its entire body. This film succinctly presents everything that I look for and love in anime.

The classic line.

Yeesh Katz, you just had to take the Gundam Mk II of all things? And saying's it's different from a Zaku too. Somebody should have quoted Ramba Ral the minute he said that.

Charlottle ep 13
Hilariously stupid to the end. Being Yu is suffering, being shitted on throughout whole show. I remember now, this is like a spiritual successor to Guilty Crown where both MC gets shit on non stop except Yu have a slightly better end.

Araragi's life sucks

Two questions -

Oshino said Araragi can't heal from fatal wounds, but in Bake Kanbaru caves his skull in and he lives and in Nise and Kagenui...does a fatality on him, a ton of shit. Rips out organ, destroys his chest cavity, all kinds of good stuff. So how did he live through that?

Shinobu is stronger the closer they are (which might explain why he could survive that Kagenui encounter, she was right there and powered up) but doesn't she live in his shadow? Or only when she wants to? I know for most of Bake she was sitting in the corner doing nothing. Did I miss something

Also despite this arc being called "Tsubasa Family" I guess the viewer won't actually see her family...aside from silhouettes. But that's typical of this show.

Anybody watch Arslan? Wondering if it's decent.

It's great. From the same guy who did Legend of the Galactic Heroes which is one of my favorites. Arslan has a lot more anime tropes than that (at least this anime adaption does, I doubt the original novels had them) but it still has strong writing. It has butt ugly CGI at times but you can kinda forgive that. The show has huge siege battles and that's kinda impossible to animate without a movie budget.

Girls und Panzer OVA - Let's Fight Not!Italy!

I'm never going to get sick of a world where schools float around on battleships and tank commanding is the most feminine of arts. I appreciate that Fuwafuwa not only had time to sneak onto an enemy ship to spy, but also had time to edit her report and add credits and an intro sequence

Man, MC is hardcore. Stood outside her tank hatch and let them practice sniping the tank from 1500m @_@. Actually this whole battle was crazy unsafe with the amount of sticking your head out of a tank while tank shells go off, and schoolgirls being thrown out of tanks rolling crazily.

Sick tank animation.

Italia 2 gud at partying to win at Panzer (or to even catch the finals lol)

Gatchaman Crowds Insight 12
I wanna root for this show but the more I reflect on the end result the less I think of it. The color and design work is cool, the music is on point, and it's certainly aspiring to be more than most other shows. Really though most of the concepts aren't presented in a sensible manner. There's all this stuff about thinking and acting for yourself but none of the events really play into that. The Gatchaman operate as a singular entity, and the climax only serves to manipulate a shift in the atmosphere that redirects the atmosphere and collective thought climate rather than doing much to disrupt or disperse it.

The replayed fight scene is substantially more interesting with full context, but now it suffers from being a flashback made up of content that we just came off of. The destruction of Hajime has some of the most interesting visual imagery from this season but it's sort of just lost in something that naturally feels like familiar territory. And again, this dichotomy between the message and the events on screen emerges.
Hajime wants to give it her all in the fight but the entire set up is that they need to beat down the Gelsadra copy as badly as possible in order to create sympathy for the real Gelsadra. She isn't really fighting back. Do these events truly solve the problem of the Kuu? They're still around, so what stops them from eating people? Is there a story beat I missed where the Crowds were enabled once more?
Nothing really feels like it's been brought about to a close.

No I don't think you missed something because that confused me as well, it seemed like the VAPE/Rizumu/Rui plot line was resolved off screen. That was the one plot line that stuck out the most as being underdeveloped anyway.

Yeah, it actually gets worse for our pervy MC pretty soon. His condition is a blessing and a curse for him.

Yeah, Shinobu
basically moved into his shadow when Oshino left
I can't remember which arc it is buy it is all explained in detail.

Have you watched the bath scene with her yet? It might have actually been during that moment as their "coming out" party.

Yeah I watched Nise. I don't remember that, but it would make sense so I'll accept that. I was just wondering when the shift happened from Shinobu being pretty much completely motionless to her living in his shadow. Oshino leaving would make sense.

Very codependent relationship now...

So many arcs and episodes it's hard to keep them all organized, lol. Plus it's 3 am and I'm falling asleep, lol.

Cool, I might give it a shot

Why am I watching Dragonar Academy.

It is 3 AM again, this Rum is pretty much gone and I'm almost positive the girl in my bed is really annoyed that I'm watching anime while she's trying to sleep.

Though I guess Dragonar Acadmey is anime in the loosest of terms.

Maybe she'd be less pissed if I put on a good anime.

Reccomendations? Wait, never mind she put a pillow over her head. I think we're good here.

This is what happens to those, who won't go full lewd. Take your defeat, embrace your lewdness, or you'll never win in this world.

Joking aside, I do actually feel a bit sorry for Hana.

Both of those times Ararararararagi preps up by having his blood sucked away which is said to power him up and enable him to manifest him a greater part of his lost vampire powers. I guess the explanation for the first encounter with Monkey is just that the wound wasn't fatal enough.

That only happened in Bake. You do realise Neko is a prequel ?

It's like the most important plotpoint in the last arc of Bake. :p

Everytime shinobu suck araragi blood, he regain some of his vampire power, hence why he can survive fatal damage from kanbaru

Shinobu start living in Araragi shadow during tsubasa cat arc.

i forgot to mention possibly the coolest thing about the GuP OVA, two tanks basically having a sword fight with their turrets while trying to ram one another and/or blast each other at point blank range.

fuckin' cool.

Rewatching Beck with my lil bro and man I forgot how shitty the animation was and how fucking slow it was in the beginning.

Shits basically a slideshow when there arent any performances.

Fafner: Dead Aggressor - Exodus 06-10

I don't remember the Mark Sein and Nicht being so strong. Some more suffering flags popping up, as well. Knowing there's an S2 coming up, I wonder how this will end.

i have made a horrible mistake, and i'm seeing it through until the end.

I will then follow that up with an even worse mistake.
Oh boi

I'm watching diabolik lovers and then i'll be watching vampire holmes.

best male character

Yeah, I'll concede that.

There is one problem with Prison School's humor to me.

And it's not that it's ever over the top. It's at its best when it is.

It's that Kiyoshi gets more focus, when the other characters are more interesting and funnier.

Kiyoshi is the straight man in a comedy that shouldn't have one.

Seeing all this praise for Prison School I probably also have to watch that at some point. Will probably wait for the Blu-Rays to watch the uncensored version though, still have enough other stuff to watch. xD

I haven't seen Prison School, but how does something that over the top work without the Straight Man?

I think it can, if the other characters have some base moments of sanity.

Perhaps it's just that I think Kiyoshi is too straight faced towards the middle.

Prison School is at its best at the start and the beginning.

Hopefully, we get season 2 since that's when things really kick into high gear.

Sorry, but without a straightman all you get is random. Prison school isn't teekyuu. (i know this is hyperbole)

The reason it might seem to drag in the middle is because that is all about the first prison escape and the planning behind it. idk, i personally really enjoyed that since its when Gakuto comes out as a big bro (which straight up wouldn't have meant anything if kiyoshi wasn't the straight man to be the comparison figure.)

What was the last good mecha series we got? The first GBF?

Y'all are forgetting Knights of Sidonia S2 was this spring!
They overdid it with the standard anime harem stuff in the middle, but the actual mech action scenes were so good, they more then made up for that.

It also gets instant bonus points, because it had a Blame! teaser.
I need a Blame! anime.

Has everyone watched DurararaX2 Ten 12

A bit bummed that it's another insane cliffhanger
with Orihara taking the fall :p Dollars and Yellow Scarves has reached its peak again with Mikado losing his sanity
so many exciting things.

Can't wait for chapter 3.

Why the fuck are A-1/Aniplex announcing another season of Nanatsu no Taizai?

If it's a sequel then it's going to be completely rushed due to the first season covering 103 chapters out of 142.
