Awesome. User created content is always a great way to prolong the life of a game, and with the slowing releases on PS3 a lot of people will get use out of this and the courses it provides.

That being said, I'd love to see something like this for Driveclub, Forza 6, or even Mario Kart 8.

Out of nowhere.

But at this stage I dont know why PD are wasting time on this instead of putting the extra man hours into GT PS4 but I guess Polyphony never likes to be logical

As someone that still plays and enjoys GT6... damn, they should have just moved this development to GT7 on PS4, its incredible the amount of support they give this game despite the sales and how long ago this game came out.

Oh well, not complaining about free content, cant wait to try it out.

They advertised this as a selling point for GT6, they pretty much had to release it. :p And whatever work done here will probably be used again for GT7 instead of recreating a new track maker.

I wonder if we can finally create a drag strip now or if it must be a circuit track.

Looks like we can make point-to-point tracks.

Option for complete track - connected.

I'm kinda stunned. No word about GT7 for like... forever, and then we get stuff like Senna, circuito de la sierra, SRT tomahawk downforce-vectoring tech and now this for GT6 and for free.

Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful and this is super awesome, more developers should believe and continue support like PD, but I hope they have they priorities straight, because there is PCARS, there is Xbox price cuts and bundles on Forza and there will be Assetto Corsa soon.
Some (any) GT7 news would be really welcome now. Maybe a few teaser shots (and SOUNDS).

You know, this game is one of the Ps3 games that could most use a Ps4 remaster. The fact that it's still getting support is pretty cool.

Releasing the course maker completely frees them up for GT7 now. Had they never released the course maker for GT6 like you're suggesting, are you honestly saying that people would't have been giving them a ton of shit for promising it'd be released only to not release it?

If the courses are being saved to PSN those courses are, without doubt, going to end up in GT7 when you boot it up. No way it won't happen.

Very interesting! I wonder how many editing options will be available. The only feasible way to edit the ground would be height-painting so I guess the ground is probably static.

You're probably both right, but why can they not just SAY that. That would get people even more excited about this and GT7, right?

I think people would have moved on. It wouldnt have been the first time PD promised something and didnt deliver on it.

But maybe GT7 is still a few years out so they are going to keep tossing new things into GT6 to keep the hardcore few that are still into it happy

So it's only an app for phone/tablets? We can't create tracks from the game like in GT5?

No mention of the GPS function? Surely it will be included...

Only 4 locations? What is this crap?

I didn't wait 2 years for this.

Think of it as a beta for GT7.

Wait until the official GT site updates. They've now moved on from saying "exclusively for Gran Turismo 6" to "exclusively for Playstation's Gran Turismo series" when referring to Vision GT cars. So that may be the same case for this. It allows them to confirm things for GT7 without actually mentioning GT7 since it hasn't been announced.

I think people would have moved on. It wouldnt have been the first time PD promised something and didnt deliver on it.

Have you visited GTplanet? Every single time that PD posts a "Maintenance" entry there are lots of people that start making jokes about the course maker. So people haven't forgot and PD knows that.

So .... no GT7 for a long long time ?

So....no luck for someone like me who doesn't have a smartphone?

impressive and baffled to see this.

wow @PD.

more devs should take this kind of stuff as a role model. on the other hand, PD releases every now and then a game.

i wonder if GT7 is a thing.

back then GT was the state-of-the-art-racing game.

now we have forza, project cars and drive club. good graphics and realism, you choose.

how about making a game NOT about motor-sports?

Sounds great. Does it let you alter the topography though or are you building on pre existing landscapes? Either way much better than their weird track (random) generator thing from before (which always loved to throw endless sharp turns right over blind crests at you almost as standard).

Stopped playing GT6 a long time ago, and won't touch it now, waiting on a glorious GT7 experience on my PS4. I hope to god all these improvements in GT6 and this course creator make it in to GT7, and we don't have a weird situation of a barebones GT7. They've had plenty of time. Bring it all to us in PS4 glory!
