What's the best way to resolve the issue with the Les Paul guitars where the frets don't always activate? I know it's an issue with the contacts in the neck and the body not touching.

I used to tie some string from the base of the guitar to the strap part on the neck, works well but I would rather a less visible solution.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Easily fixable. If you fold a piece of paper a few times to make it thick, then cut out a strip that fits in the back of the neck and slide it in without making contact with the neck connectors at the bottom, you can keep the neck still when you push it in and voila, no more un-registered note holds!

Rinse and repeat every few months as the paper gets compressed. Been using my GH3 Les Paul forever with this method.

I tried all day yesterday to get songs on the x360 rb3 store, but xbox live itself keeps disconnecting.

Also, for the minute i can look, every song in the store that i don't already have says "currently unavailable."

I guess i can't get the rest of the sale songs i wanted.


If I add a valid credit card on the website store, will it actually let me use my xbox credit?

Been playing quite a bit of RB3 the past few days and remembered something that really bothers me: the background noise/ambiance on the main menu and song selection screens. Really hope it's adjustable or just not in RB4 because when you're idling on either, it's obnoxious.

Is this code on the back of my Rock Band 2 manual going to let me export songs from the disc and play them in 4? Going from 360 to Xbone.

Also, if I buy a RB1 export license now for £3.39, is that going to let me play this original setlist in RB4? I'm fairly sure the answer is yes, based on HMX blog, but I wanted to double check.

Is there a particular order in which I should do these things, or does it kinda just fall into place?

Only good solution is hardwiring it to bypass the contacts entirely. If that's not feasible, you might be able to super glue the next and body together so that the contact pins don't move as much?

How is the WoR guitar? I got a GH3 Les Paul that's over 10 years old in nigh-on perfect working condition, but I'd like another GH controller that's more reliable to go with it. the GH:WT guitar was absolute shit in terms of build quality.

I absolutely love my World Tour guitar. I honestly wouldn't use anything else. It's still going pretty good after some six plus years (and some surgery to fix two of the frets).

well guys, I tried a few more times last night to nab a rock band 2 export code for 360, these EA support reps are really sticking to their guns, I threw everything I had at them several times, but no dice. Anyone else having luck over the last couple of days? maybe some different tips to try?

Supposedly someone from HMX said it on some stream sometime, so yeah. I haven't seen real confirmation yet as well, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Rock band 2 pedal styling? Mine actually cracked in half during clouds over California.......yes the metal slab did nothing but prolong the breaking......I was shocked to see it go. I did however send in 7 RB1 pedals for replacement though. So 1 pedal over the life of 2 games vs 7 over the life of 1 was definitely an improvement. However it seems I might want to get an all metal pedal finally rigged for RB.


Also 1 day till we are out of here and in the OT!!!

No there is a real fix....I had to do it to mine. You actually move the internal contact board lower and it's snug as hell and feels really really good. Also laughing at your string method there haha.

Still no developments on my two orders for the few people that care.

From a conversation w/ Microsoft, the 'expectation' is that I will get a re-authorization e-mail when the billing attempt fails that would allow me to enter new billing info.

Best Buy's CSR over the phone could not add the other credit card to my account/order and was going to talk with their supervisor and call me back w/ an update. I didn't hear back before end of day Friday.

I will live vicariously through everyone else's streams and YouTube videos for now, I suppose. Actually, it's a good excuse for me to go back and finish up the RBHP videos...

They've been pushing updates out for the NXOE pretty quickly, I'm sure the rb4 issues will be fixed rather quickly.

My local best buy and walmart have sections dedicated to guitar hero, nothing for rock band. Rock band does have sold out preorders, so who knows

If there is an actual way to do this please let me know. I opted in a few weeks ago, and I haven't gotten the new dash yet, but my status is stuck at "enroll change pending" and I can't seem to find a way to cancel the enrollment to the new dash.

My personal favorite controller was the wired Gutiar Hero 2 X-plorer for the 360...which isn't compatible.

I hate, hate, hate, hate the Rock Band 1 and 2 guitars. The Beatles: Rock Band Bass was ok. I just don't like the spongy strum bars.

I'll probably be going around to second hand stores this week to pick up a compatible gutiar, but there's just so many different models out there, not sure what I should get.
