Man I still remember that reveal and how awesome it was. First seeing Platinum games come out, then Okabe's name come out, and then that leitmotif from that Emil track plays out, and then Taro Yako's name comes out.

By the time I realized that the song playing was Emil from Nier 1 OST, I was already screaming out loud, which was something I didn't do for the FF7r announcement.

Yep. Although I'm not sure which announcement had the largest overall effect, the Nier 2 one certainly had me more vocal. Probably due to the utter surprise that it was actually happening.

Damn, nice line-up. Looks like they're gonna use the Collective label for their indie publishing arm, too. Hope it's one of the pitches for Eidos older IP's (Gex plz)

Can't wait for more on FFXV and Nier.

Awesome! Hope we get a nice 2-3 minute trailer using in game assets.

Now throw in Rime and Wild and Alienation and The Witness and The Tomorrow Children and we have ourselves a strong show!

The Sony presser will be streamed, we just don't know which of these games will be at the presser, the big games like Deus Ex, Just Cause, & Hitman are sure to be there, but Nier could be at the Square behind-closed-doors event.

Nice, I was hoping to see some info on World Of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest X for ps4 (since I assume out before XI) but I can get behind most of these.

DQX is almost certainly never seeing a release in the west, so it wouldn't pop up here. There's just way too many expansions already for Square to hop in now. I think the next time we'll hear about it or XI will be at Jump Festa. Unless Square wants to announce a western release for XI, in which case PSX would make sense.

Was hoping that the PS4 announcement of DQX would mean there is a chance for it to finally come west... I know it won't though.

I legit cried. And I never get that invested in games normally. I was too tired to be excited for the Shenmue 3 announcement since it was like 3AM here even though that was unbelievable too. But I was certainly awake enough for Nier 2, that one just came out of nowhere. And with my favourite Japanese game artist working on it too (Yoshida) was just extra awesomeness, with a very talented team of creators.

Never in my wildest dreams were there be another NieR game. I can't wait but I'm torn between keeping up with the game as it's in development or trying to keep everything a secret until it's released.

Thing is, at face value, Nier is pretty mediocre (except for the god-tier soundtrack). It doesn't really become one of those GOAT contenders until later, when all of the pieces come together in NG+. I thought it was OK during my first playthrough, but on subsequent ones, I was just blown away. I haven't read any of them, but I'm guessing many reviews didn't even bother... or worse, didn't even finish a single playthrough.

Wasn't there a review that even said as much as "the game has no replay value..."?

NieR was horribly treated.

Hopefully they will try the new game properly, specially after the reception of the first one =X

Put me in the "i still can't believe this is a thing" list
Not only it's a new Nier (which by itself its already a half miracle), but on top of it you have one of the best dream team ever in gaming history: Yoko Taro and Okabe back, Platinum taking care of the gameplay, and freaking Yoshida on the art department.
It literally is a dream coming true.

Why is Life is Strange at PGW? The last episode would already have been released, unless it's DLC or confirmation of a season 2?

After expecting virtually nothing from Transformers and instead having it be one of my favorite games of the year, I'm really excited for this New Nier. Keep the crazy and the variety, fix the combat (99% chance this is a given now) and the pacing, should be interesting

I need those visual novel segments with different layers of instruments. The crazy that was in NieR was great. Don't want that to go away, either.

I am all over Nier 2. Except I think "Nier 2" is not a great name. Maybe call it "Fahr" or something. Then release a double pack w/ Nier and Fahr.

Any other title the game may end up having will never live up to the glory of Fahr. I am now prepared for eternal disappointment.

I can't believe Nier 2 is still an actual bloody thing. My baby lives on!
