Sony : Paris Games Week press conference dated

Surprising to hear they had issues with guns. Other developers don't seem to have hit the same hurdles. Wonder if they were trying to aim for something different with gunplay?

Hmm.

Interesting concept though. Would have been great if it could have all come together.

"@thuway, appreciate it if you not create unnecessary work for us + our PR staff"

Really? That's unnecessary. He brought it up himself and politely asked us not to.

Wrong thread, Miles.

Wrong thread?

Nah he's talking about the cancelled SSM game that Shinobi was talking about a bit earlier in the thread I think. Maybe? If so Shinobi said it was the melee + gunplay combat that they were having problems with.

After the show they have the following for press:
Edit for accuracy:

At 9 PM Paris time the press will get half an hour for simulatenously U4 and Dreams. And than at 9:30 Gravity Rush 2 and WiLD. Than at 10 an unannounced game for one hour. I don't know if there'll be an embargo or what, but yeah that should give you a good idea of where to keep expectations for the conference.

*Please refrain from Naughty Dog behind closed doors jokes pls :(

Any chance of them showing Gravity Rush 2 during the conference, or is its only exposure during the event going to be seen by the press? It'd be an absolute pisser if it's the latter. I know they've got to throw the journos a bone from time to time, but I don't want to know about new footage through preview articles and videos, I want to see it LIVE!

If there truly is a press meeting after about it is say that's a pretty good indication it'll be there at the conference.

And so what ? He got called for the exact same thing in the recent past, and now he is doing the exact same thing over again. With the exact same game too.

People make mistakes.

1 hour blowout for an unannounced game. Sounds good. Love me some Wild too.

thanks for the info :)
so this tba ps4 title will be the only major announcement for the show?

Not necessarily, there are... a few actually, but broadly speaking, two popular patterns to big announcements.

a. Announce a game that already have a sizable amount of locked information, content, gameplay, footage to show, have a sizable blow-out from the get-go, keep that momentum till release.
b. Announce, go dark for one whole year or more, "reannounce again" the next year, and that's when press actually gets to see the game for the first time proper.

Announcements like Wild, Everybody's Golf, Uncharted 4, Rime were basically type (b) announcements, where aside from the conference trailer, and some basic info, press practically know nothing about the game for a long, long time, until it's ready to be talked about again.

And then there's type(a) announcements like the reannouncement of Until Dawn, Bloodborne, LBP3, etc, where immediately post-announcement, press were able to see the game running, behind-the-scenes extended footage, or even get hands-on.

This "one hour press meeting" one is probably a type(a) announcement. But I wouldn't be surprised if there's other type(b) announcements there just to artificially increase the number of announced games at the show, because frankly, announcing games too early is a popular thing to do.

Getting hyped. Can't wait to see QD's project and the bitching that follows, lol.

Ready for those Rime, Alienation, Dreams, and WiLD blowouts. And hopefully new demos for UC4, R&C, and Horizon.

And I got a feeling Gravity Rush 2 Isn't too far off. Looks like a nearly finished game in the TGS trailer.

Supermassive is a European studio, so I reckon we might get a dlc announcement from them. Wasn't that rumored to be in the works?
