Shit if Nintendo is going to flip the typical PAL and NOA release dates of new games to make up for all the years NOA got games months before PAL, then NOA is in for many years worth of delayed release dates compared to Europe.
Or Nintendo is just reverting back to its reclusive out of the media self like they were pre-Iwata. It's too early to tell, but Nintendo was not an "open" company by any means pre-Iwata, and since Iwata's passing the company has felt similar to how they were before Iwata took over as president. Hopefully this is just temporary due to the transition and soon we'll see Nintendo get back with a regular schedule of Directs and customer Asks.
Well, thanks to social media, I'd say it's not exactly as it was in pre-Iwata's era (right because...time have changed): we have Nintendo Minute, Cat Mario Show, Twitter posts / Youtube videos for games, live streams with Treehouse / staff from Nintendo UK (now, Anouma himself joins the fun), we've had Nindie@Night and the Xenoblade Panel @ PAX available to watch on YT, it's more "open" by default due to the different times. It's a weird in-between currently, and the Directs are missing A LOT, all the recent uproar of speculation with solid (if not almost certain - like TP HD) bases is making me realise how much I miss them (even more than what I thought). It's also the reason for my current avatar
@Not75Drops: ...That would constitute another hint for a Direct in the next future, in a perfect world: they announced release dates for both Japan and Europe, some screens on Famitsu, artworks to press, but no video at all. Even Amiibo Party got a japanese trailer for the announcement of its release date. Again, in a perfect world, this would remind me of how there haven't been a Dragon Quest VIII's first trailer for a week or two, despite the announcement, and then that dropped in the Japanese Direct on May 31st.
