I think that the complaint is valid. You know why they do that? Because gamers today cannot figure anything out for themselves. Remember when Super Metroid came to Wii U and the posts of people asking how to do the most basic crap? If you want to get mad at anything, get mad at the fact that new gamers do not have the patience to figure out things on their own.

Agreed, I believe that tutorials should exist for newcomers and younger players but there needs to be an option to skip them for advance players or anyone replaying the game.

Most of today's tutorials are better than Mario and luigis. A button text prompt will show up on screen, you're still in control of your character, and you just do it. There's no Starlow stopping the game to go hmmmmmm you picked up a thing I wonder what it does oh I know try going though these button prompts step by step and I'll talk in between each one now press B oh wow that did something now press B again

Ysssssssssss, this is one of the game that I was looking forward to play.

-Kirby and the Rainbow curse
-Super Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
-Yo-Kai Watch
-Chibi-Robo Zip Lash
-Sin and Punishment on Wii U virtual console

You guys got those game before us, but sure continue posting how you guys are last for everything.

Not like it gets annoying in every European related thread. ¬_¬;

This pretty much, the tutorials just slows down the gameplay which can get annoying as the course of the game goes on.

You got Disaster, Another Code R, Fatal Frame 2, Pandora, Xenoblade, and The Last Story without a hitch.

Don't start this. We can play this game forever. And the finishing blow will be the word PAL. :D

They're not denying we get some games sooner, it's just that the whole "NoA is the worst and we're getting screwed the hardest and all of our games later than everyone" narrative that's been floating around recently isn't accurate. Both regions are still suffering. And if you really want to play list wars, Europe has the 90s. That's hundreds of games later than the U.S.

You don't even want to know how many games Europe missed out on over the last couple of decades. Crying over a handful of games when Europe gets historically a far worse treatment is quite silly.

Hope this comes out in NA this year too, or else I'm looking at a holiday season without any 3DS purchases. Yokai Watch is a maybe, other than that there is nothing I'm interested in.

EU also got Dream Team first btw.

One of those games where EU and JP get it first and then two months later NA gets it.

I'm really looking forward tot his too. Despite my complains about Dream Team, it was a really fun game.

Interesting, so the game is coming out in December in both EU and JP. I guess a US announcement isn't far away then; with it coming out latter in December or sometime in January :).

Man, the art is, as usual with M&L games, on point. Dream Team is still the best though with that colouring style

Shame this didn't get the Direct treatment, I really need a good trailer to sell me on this game because Dream Team was a bit dull for me in every department. The art is gorgeous though, and I do love to see more Bowser Jr.

The weird thing is, the first two Paper Mario games pretty much outright tell you how to solve puzzles or use things, just by taking Goombario or Goombella out and using tattle on the screen. And yet the game with the strange puzzles requiring very specific stickers or boss fights that become near impossible without a certain sticker have no in-game way to really know what to do unless you fail a few times and even then, the hints aren't great. And that's a modern Nintendo RPG that you'd think would be loaded with more tutorials than it needs.

I'm replaying the first Paper Mario right now, and actually did get stuck. Just going to a room, and Goombario says "that's a pretty nice dresser. I wonder what's inside of it?" and then I realized I needed to check the dresser. I only actually remember two real tutorials. At the start, and then when you get the action command charm. And actually the latter is optional.

Just weird they had a perfect template for letting stuck players get help with the Tattle system of the first few Paper Mario games, and then go and just ignore it for later Paper Mario games, or replace it with obnoxious tutorials.

I hope NA gets TPHD months ahead of Europe. NoA has really been screwing us lately.

Shit if Nintendo is going to flip the typical PAL and NOA release dates of new games to make up for all the years NOA got games months before PAL, then NOA is in for many years worth of delayed release dates compared to Europe.

Man, the lack of Nintendo Directs make these announcements feel a lot emptier.

Or Nintendo is just reverting back to its reclusive out of the media self like they were pre-Iwata. It's too early to tell, but Nintendo was not an "open" company by any means pre-Iwata, and since Iwata's passing the company has felt similar to how they were before Iwata took over as president. Hopefully this is just temporary due to the transition and soon we'll see Nintendo get back with a regular schedule of Directs and customer Asks.

I'm mostly just bitter that EU has been playing Yoshi's Wooly World for months but we only get it tonight at midnight.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Ah, the old NoE's trick: stating a release date first, then moving those releases up, European rejoice saying "Thank you NOE, you're so kind with us!".

NoA seems to have gone into full marketing mode with Yokai Watch and Triforce Heroes so I wouldn't expect it to release in America this year.

While it's good that the game will release this year, it's weird that they've hardly shown any footage of it. December also feels a bit too late for something that hasn't had a lot of marketing.

Well, thanks to social media, I'd say it's not exactly as it was in pre-Iwata's era (right because...time have changed): we have Nintendo Minute, Cat Mario Show, Twitter posts / Youtube videos for games, live streams with Treehouse / staff from Nintendo UK (now, Anouma himself joins the fun), we've had Nindie@Night and the Xenoblade Panel @ PAX available to watch on YT, it's more "open" by default due to the different times. It's a weird in-between currently, and the Directs are missing A LOT, all the recent uproar of speculation with solid (if not almost certain - like TP HD) bases is making me realise how much I miss them (even more than what I thought). It's also the reason for my current avatar :(

@Not75Drops: ...That would constitute another hint for a Direct in the next future, in a perfect world: they announced release dates for both Japan and Europe, some screens on Famitsu, artworks to press, but no video at all. Even Amiibo Party got a japanese trailer for the announcement of its release date. Again, in a perfect world, this would remind me of how there haven't been a Dragon Quest VIII's first trailer for a week or two, despite the announcement, and then that dropped in the Japanese Direct on May 31st.

EDIT: Since we're talking about Iwata, has the new President said much about his plans of late?

They're not denying we get some games sooner, it's just that the whole "NoA is the worst and we're getting screwed the hardest and all of our games later than everyone" narrative that's been floating around recently isn't accurate. Well, at least Europe is beating America wrt Virtual Console

Man this is the game I'm most excited for, why NOA.

Interesting though that it's release has moved up in Europe too. Wonder what's going on, and where oh where are the Nintendo Directs?

How about a simultaneous release instead of screwing Europe over because NOA sucks?

Ok, fine.

Realistically, I wish all releases were handled in that manner. It causes a great deal of frustration when games are delayed for either region, probably mostly due to a lack of understanding about why it's necessary. I understand needing more time to localize into additional languages for EU (FR, IT, DE?), but I don't get it the other way around. I see no reason why a game currently released in English-speaking territories would get their release delayed in NA.

Maybe someone who knows more about how these things work can clue me in?

I personally think it has to do with spreading it out as much as they can. Nintendo at the moment barely has any games to begin with and dumping it all in the same month is just not good strategy. Yes it's frusting for you, me and most others here on the forum. But most people off of these kinds of forums that buy these games probably have no idea.

I just went to Amazon.co.uk to buy Chibi-Robo and guess what.. It's not out here yet! It swings both ways. Let's not have the NoA bashing every time Europe gets something first, if we made a historical list, you would come up smelling of roses.

This idea for a crossover isn't bad at all, but I really wish they could've done it AFTER making a genuine (non-sticker star type) Paper Mario game for Wii U. This is essentially more of a Mario & Luigi game regardless.

I like the style and the combat.
please avoid too many tutorials and a boring overworld, and I'll love the game.
