Just noticed the new update has the same version number as my new windows 10 mobile update. I got both prompts yesterday. Both are version 10581

Love the new dashboard. My only complaints, or things I may have missed?

I miss seeing which parties your friends are in from the party screen, and who is in them.

Wish there was a quicker shortcut to microphone or headphones settings.

Due to the limited space, it cuts off sometimes what level or activity a friend is going. I wish it would slowly scroll once highlighted.

Is that what Gabe was referring to when he said they were doing something they've never done before with W10m updates with 10581?

Double-tap guide, RT, A. Should have all your headset settings right there.

Have they fixed the party chat issues with this build? Two builds ago party started breaking...after first party full reset was necessary...even when party is working right it says no headset connected even though i'm talking to someone

I'll give that a shot as soon as this update is done! Just got a 450MB or so one.

I just ditched my launch controller for one of the new ones with the 3.5mm jack. Feels like how the controller should have felt, and I got some test build one with the launch.

EDIT: Oh. That is just the fastest way to get there.

Party chat worked for me last night, I even plugged in the kinect after starting the party and it worked fine.

Only used it for an hour though.

I am so sick of this dashboard. I have had so many issues, I opted out but got put right back in.

My apps all freeze or crash on me constantly. My Xbox just randomly turns itself off while trying to load Netflix. The Twitch UI is messed up so the chat is always overlaying the video. When I hold my Xbox button the console crashes. I can't get on YouTube. Virtually nothing is improved since I was last on this OS and had the same issues.

They can not seriously be rolling this out to all users in a few weeks. It's not ready. I'd try and get out of it again but I don't want to have to redownload all my Rock Band songs again.

Are others having issues this bad?

This is probably my only real complaint about the ui. I can't tell if my friends are in a party alone or with a group of 5 others in a game like Destiny doing a raid.

Also going to the profile screen of a Friend and having a blinding solid color like Red fill up your entire TV bc it's their profile color.

Half of the time I turn the console on none of the sections load. It's all empty boxes or tabs. I don't get it. I also have games and or apps randomly close more often than before.

This sounds like a straight clusterfuck still. Ugh, not looking forward to changing over.

In fairness - it's getting more stable which each update. However they've got some serious issues which have been running for weeks now with no fix (although they keep marking them as fixed).

I think it will land.. But hot. Expect some serious forum rage in 12 days.

I've been using for it two weeks and not had any problems but I miss some functionality from the old dash. Everyone's screenshots seem to look like shit now and I can't find a way of making them go full screen. I too also miss the ability to see who is in parties. Will we be getting achievement leaderboards again when it rolls out officially?

I agree. I expect it to be a lot more stable than it is now, but it is almost certainly still going to have some major issues for a lot of people. They probably just want to get it out in the first half of November so they can properly launch and market BC. I expect frequent updates for everyone right after launch.

Where did the turn controller off option go? I used to be able to hold down the Xbox button and it would launch basically a power off option screen. Now it just vibrates a couple times and doesn't do anything.

I know in the quick menu there is a reset console or turn console off option. However, does anyone know where the turn controller off option is?

Kinect seems to be picking up my commands better. Also, responding faster.

But trying to launch youtube last night was causing my box to reboot. Can't wait until the final version.

I am getting my new 1TB system in today, as I am upgrading from my 500 GB unit. I sure as hell hope that this new update does not screw it up. I would rather see them delay this than force it out on everyone and risk having such a mess on their hands, but it looks like they are shoving it out the door anyway. Hoping for the best, I guess.

I still get the power off screen when I hold the Xbox button down, but it takes a bit longer to show up.

Still there for me. You might want to restart.

See, for me the controller vibrates and then my console freezes.

Anyone having an issue where their friends can't see them online? My status is "appear online", but no one can actually see me. Frustrating and nothing I've tried has fixed it.

if the button says "appear online" in your profile page that means you are appearing offline and it will say that on the left side. It should say "appear offline", meaning you press that button to appear offline. That button is not your actual status, its to change your status.

Happened to my brother as well, he hard reset and left his box on overnight and it still didn't complete the update. Not sure what's causing it.

Anyone got the link to reformat the Xbox One from USB stick? Is this even possible? (I googled it and couldn't find the link.)

Looks like the update bricked my console. It won't get past the green Xbox One loading screen. Already tried all the troubleshooting things in this thread, on the Xbox forums, etc.

edit: I *think* I found the tool. http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/system/offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool

Did you try booting with everything except HDMI and power removed, and then waiting?

Got an update this morning and it activated narrator mode while updating.
I heard something like "active window" when it was downloading, and was still on when it restarted after applying the update.
It was easy enough to go to the settings to turn it off, but I guess I learned you can toggle it with holding the guide button and then pressing the menu button so that's neat.

It appears people have already gotten this. That's kinda weird since I've been manually updating often to see if my elite controller with the headset adapter connected issues will be fixed soon.

Had this a couple of times.

It´s just a bug.

Hard reboot your console and it will work again.

Tried it . No go.

I reformatted the entire console using the USB tool.

When it started working again, I had the NXE.

Luckily, I store 99% of my games on a 5 terabyte external hard drive, so I didn't have to download hardly anything to get back up to full speed.

So, this is a note to all:

IF YOUR CONSOLE HANGS UP DURING THE INSTALL OR LOADING PROCESS, IT CAN BE FIXED.

This.

It is a bit misleading. They should change it to "press to show offline" or "currently showing offline" etc

This happened to me, and it appears quite a few others during this last wave. The fix is pretty easy, particularly if you have an external storage, but I hope this doesn't happen to many people when it goes live.

NXOE user here, got this scary error message during the last update 2 nights ago. Update finished downloading then it happened during the installation.

YjuNRIk.jpg

Did a hard reset and it sat at the green Xbox One screen for about 15 or 20 minutes with the pulsing dots then it booted up the dashboard like nothing happened. Kinda scared to apply this new update as the above fix worked, but I'm wary as to whether or not it left any long-term damage to my system.

I got same message during my first reformat attempt. It worked fine after I tried again though.

I read he was referring to pushing Win 10 and Win 10 mobile updates simultaneously. Normally they do them separately but could have tested their systems to see how they cope? Not sure if it included the Xbox as well as I got both on same day.

Kind of glad I didn't get it pushed to me yet as a preview member.... crossing my fingers that if it comes soon that it is an updated build.

With this - several gaffers (in this very thread) had to have their Xboxes replaced by Microsoft, on their instructions, because the USB recovery didn't work.

Thankfully the tool is in a much better place this week.

Re guy having E200 error - lots of posts about it in thread over last two weeks. They still haven't fixed it, despite patch notes saying they fixed it.

Try another hard reboot. That worked for me. I had to do two hard reboots, one after "preparing console..." and one after the green screen (both times they did not progress after I waited 30 minutes) then it booted to the new dash.

If that doesn't work, you probably need to do the USB restore tool.

Removing the hard drive did the trick!

Did anyone else notice their controller's battery draining waaaaaay faster than ever before with the new dashboard? I fully charged it earlier this evening. I just checked the icon and i noticed how there's already one or two bars gone. Usually no bar would be gone in just these few hours.

The NXE update just got pushed to my console, it's been on preparing console at about 85% or so for the last 20 minutes or so. Is my console fucked or should I keep waiting?

The new monitor feels off. It's shown me full, half, full and empty all on the same battery in an hour.

So when does this go out to the preview members that didn't opt it originally? Don't want to schedule any gaming sessions when there seems to be a possibility of my console dying.
