Not only is the sword huge, it looks like it's been used quite a bit. There are scuffs and scratches along the blade's face.

The sword belongs to Link's master.

Who happens to be someone who resembles a certain Gerudo we all know very well.

Link is on a quest to find him after he mysteriously disappeared.

Could what Aonuma said have about the open world having a twist have something to do with something happening at nightfall? I know we've seen very little footage of this game but it's a bit suspicious that they have only shown morning, afternoon and sunset but nothing of nighttime.

Holy shit you're totally right. Holy shit. Even in the gameplay demo they cut from twilight back to day.

They removed all previous images for some reason.

The rock textures sure look great in this screen, but we'd have to see them up close to be sure.

Can't wait to see what this looks like on NX. Or if this is the NX version or not.

I'm glad, because I never fully completed the Wii version after putting about 20 hours into it and feel I'd be lost going back.

Now I don't really need to plug my Wii back in! Crappy system.

What if it's not a sequel to anything and Nintendo doesn't give a flying fuck about the timeline again?

I love that all Zelda games have somewhat different art-styles, kinda makes exploring each new world unique in it's own way, even if some places are the same like death mountain.

Did you ever read the hyrule historia? In that, aonuma says that while they want to always give a cool backstory, world, and general plot, they always think when making zelda games about their mechanics and gameplay, so of course there will be inconsistencies in these games since they prefer to give a game with a certain general theme rather than try to make it connect with all zelda games or anything like that. The zelda timeline only came up because they generally give little hints about past zeldas or sometimes even make straight up sequels, but i don't think they ever intended to make a super coherent storyline or anything like that.

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
How in the world is Nintendo pulling this off on the Wii U? This is the first game in like 5 years that made me go wow. It's nothing technical but it's the amount of love they have put into the little things like the little blades of grass moving. I mean it's 5 seconds of a horse running and the sun shining into your eyes as you see the landscape. But dang there is so much going on and the way the land looks, really looks so inviting. I hope it is coming to NX. I want it in 1080p. I have a feeling this is going to be the Super Mario 64 of this generation. Nothing is going to top this for a very long time.
Well from a technical perspective games are already doing more than that technically with more intensive assets as well, (see Witcher 3), so to say that nothing is going to top it is a bit...well misguided. Moving foliage is incredibly par for the course at this point. It seems that they're using lower poly assets for most things, still looks gorgeous tho.

The more I think about it the more suspicious it is that they haven't shown any footage of the night, even cutting away from sunset to daytime in the Game Awards footage. They must be hiding something about the night.

Then again, there's a whole lot we don't really know about this game.

Because he was talking about tech...

Eh, I kinda doubt it actually.

Link is and was always just an empty container for the player to fill. Nintendos focus on female players, female developers and their output over the last 4-5 years simply leaves no other conclusion. Especially after the Linkle reveal.

So does wolf link compatibility suggest that Wolf Link will be playable? Will Midna be back?

Yes, it does suggest that. But it won't actually be the case.

Are there any other tidbits in the footage besides goats and birds and daisies? What's that thing on his belt? A book?

Someone suggested earlier that perhaps you you can choose Links gender, which is a pretty neat idea. Even though Link was fairly feminine anyway, slight changes in the features when you choose male or female would be pretty cool. It's not like they'd have to change the story arc, Links always been too smart to get romantically involved.

that wont stop anyone from shipping female Link with every girl she meets

The hoodie and the linkle reveal making it pretty obvious you will be able to choose the gender in the next Zelda.

I can see Nintendo doing that, they have been pushing female playable characters more then any other dev, and had the first female action game hero

Stop teasing me aonuma.

That open field just looks so good. After playing through the witcher 3 with trees everywhere, I just want an empty field at this point where the horse won't get caught up on the stupidest pebble or root.

I'm a little worried! I want the same thing as you but we didn't see as much open field as we have in the previous two trailers and I feel like the game world has been different in each one. I want the huge fields of grass to gallop through like in the E3 2014 trailer.

Even in that short clip, it blows my mind with all the cool locations and creatures that are grazing across the planes of (what's supposed to be) Hyrule. Depending on when it's coming out, I can't wait to play the demo at PAX Prime next summer.

I also hope to see/hear some Pikmin 4 information. I just completed all the game's challenges, and it's a fun game.

That link looks more anime (specially the mouth) than the last trailer we saw, doesn't it?

I really love that they're doing weird, new stuff with the art. I like that none of the games really look all that similar visually.
