Right now some random CoD Invitational on Twitch has 65,000 viewers.
The Halo 5 one yesterday only had 5,000, if I remember right.
Man... I really hope the Halo e-sport scene grows and attracts people. I really hope HCS can bring in at least 50,000 viewers. Halo 5 is so good and catered so well for the Competitive and E-sports crowd, it'd be a shame if it doesn't take off.
Coming off CSGO, where matches commonly have 200,000 viewers for random league matches, and the Majors getting 1,000,000 viewers, it's sad to see

Functionally, I think the Halo 5 maps are damn good (except for the forge maps).
I can't give it halo 2 status though, because there are no maps with vehicles.
It's just in the art direction where much is left to be desired.

Being a PC/multiplat game certainly helps twitch numbers. The VAST majority twitch viewers are PC gamers, so it's no surprise those titles can drawn big crowds.
That said it would be nice to see halo esports be a thing again. Hopefully the large prize pool excited people.

Don't immediately assume they are ignoring you. The world is a big place and issues are likely being dealt with simultaneously and via triage.
I'm in Canada and Warzone populates almost instantaneously. For brand new games any time I log in. I've connected to a join in progress game twice total in the 20 or so hours I've put into Warzone. I don't care about population stats as long as there is an audience there playing the game.

I really don't think Halo Esports is going to be big at all to be honest. Think they put a lot of eggs in the wrong basket with that.
This game feels frustrating and stale already. I've said a million times what changes I would like to improve my enjoyment of this game but 343 haven't mentioned that they are looking into any of the issues. I'm hoping BTB will save this game for me but... Forge maps, yay.

They have to. For all the improvements the prometheans have made in h5, they still aren't anywhere near as fun as the covenant. Covie levels in 5 are fucking amazing. Definitely replayable. Prometheans levels are slightly better then tedious. I don't really enjoy any of them because they still feel bullet spongy and just spray out constant damage
Took a day or two off from the game after being thoroughly frustrated and left dissatisfied with it and started playing again in the evening. I'm in Plat 2 for Slayer. I've had a few good matches, but I still miss the element of agency. You can't amount to shit without shadowing team members, you just die too quickly otherwise, and that's hugely disappointing, but otherwise, eh. It'll have to do for now until BTB and more Warzone/Arena maps.

It was easy enough for a rouge group not be part of the covenant or the swords.
Htt showed a rouge pirate ship of jackals.
I mean they bowed down to the didact in 4. They are easily influenced by power.
Anti-human sentiment is probably still high amongst the Sangheili. Just like Humans call Elites hinge-heads. Plus, they probably blame
humans and their AI for what happens/happened.
Additionally, Cortana knows about the Arbiter and Halsey on Sanghelios, so we'll probably be facing the Forerunner. And then, I think they'll go the ME3 route of having us fight AI, Skynet/Cerberus creations. Robotic droids, flying drones etc. Things like Sentinels again.

And then there is the Jiralhanae. I would love if the Brutes enter the fold. They use old Covenant Era vehicles and hardware. The heavy fat wraith juxtaposed with the new Elite one. Brute Shots, choppers, Spikers, Spike Grenades etc. Perfect time for them to return. Who knows.

This has more to do with Xbox One and the Master Chief Collection fiasco, than about no one caring about competitive Halo.
If Halo 5 was a Steam PC release and they alloted 1.5 million for the first tournament, you know the numbers it would draw? This is the end result of being a console exclusive in an era of third party dominance and not being the first place console this time.

Speak for yourself. I'd really like to see it do well, doesn't matter if the audience isn't massive as long as it can sustain itself. Only Starcraft is more fun to watch IMO.

Lol, Sik's montage deadline was today, and I have made only two clips since launch. A triple kill and another where I was just randomly sprinting around and I spartan charged and saved a teammate being assassinated. Just pathetic. Won't even send them in, looks like I won't be part of this montage. Maybe the next one.

While the difficulty levels escalate the difficulty of the actual encounters, increasing player count seems to increase difficulty the way the originals usually did, by upping damage / enemy health / etc. Or, moreso than the increases in difficulty alone, anyway.

Yep. I'm pretty sure there was no cloaked Elite with a Fuel Rod Cannon at the end of Blue Team on my solo Legendary run.
Damage values and focus fire gave me occasional Halo 2 cheapness vibes. Jackals with Storm Rifles are just highly mobile turrets.

Never, ever gonna happen until they put it on PC. They just can't remain console exclusive and expect the competitive scene to take off in a meaningful way.
Yup, this is 100% correct. They're bashing their head against a brick wall trying to sell a console exclusive on the losing console to an esports crowd. If they released on PC the audience would quadruple overnight.

Over shield spawns way to frequently on Empire doubles.

I don't really care about watching it, but e-sport style gameplay/settings is precisely what I want from 4v4 Halo, so I'm at least happy they focused as much on it as they did.

I know that, but thats the problem, I want also competitive playlist, just that sometimes I don't to play serious or worry about losing. Just I want to have some social playlist where I can play and don't care if I win or lose.
Swat for example, earlier today I was playing and browsing internet on my tablet kinda at the same time, and then I realise that I lose 4 matches and reduced my rank, but other time I and 100% concentrate in the game trying to improve my rank. There is Warzone, but one is not enough.

I dunno, I don't think adding a ton of playlists, and unranked/ranked options is good for keeping matchmaking running smoothly in all areas for the most part, at least not in 2015 where the population isn't as massive as it once was. You really don't wanna spread things too thin.
