Awwww yesssss

So what do you reckon is the recommended level for this? I think I read somewhere that Miyazaki claims the DLC is unlockable before it's practical to complete.

I am guessing once you beat Amelia would be a good time to jump in. I'm starting a new character today and just getting to her in preparation.

If I'm reading this correctly it's one of the spots where an Amygdala can grab you that leads to the new area? That's fairly early in the game, I wonder how difficult it will be if you access that area as soon as possible in a fresh playthrough?

Hmm I think players past Rom won't be able to get that event to kick off. But who knows for now..

Players past that would've already triggered it. Unless they really wanted to make people start a new game ( I doubt it) then the smart thing is the item should simply be waiting.

You can access it at an extremely low level if you go Cleric Beast -> Gascoigne -> purchase Hunter Chief Emblem -> Amelia -> DLC. Clearing Old Yharnam and Hemwick before Amelia would boost your level considerably.

Why would that be the case? The Amygdala creature will still be outside Oedons chapel.

Don't even need to fight Cleric Beast.

Yeah, I'm not going to buy this until we know what kind of level range you'll need in order to enjoy the new content. And even then I don't know.

I got the Bloodborne platinum and everything about the new DLC looks great, but I can't really bring myself to start a new character and potentially "waste" a couple hours progressing through the main game again... It shouldn't be much of an issue, but I already have more games that I want to play than time, so I don't really want to invest funless time into a game. :/

From the sound of it I should be able to access the place in my glitched out, unable to progress game? (shit with messing around with sequence breaks and all that before they were patched but I was stupid and triggered night time AFTER beating Rom)

My glitched game just means I can't get to the one reborn onwards because it's Night time and not pale blood moon time.

Cleric Beast unlocks the Hunter Chief Emblem in the shop which grants early access to Amelia.

Huh, never realized that :p

Only played through once and went the *Healing Church workshop way after beating BSB. I always assumed you got the emblem after beating Gascoigne.

All souls games are enjoyable at any level.

Both my characters are level 110. One's in NG+ though. idgaf, if I want to make a new build around one of the new weapons I'll just make a new character.

It looks like my new DLC character will be overleveled for this DLC.

I am alreasy at level 70+ so i might have to start a new game or play with my NG++++ save

From the article:
Players will also discover a new rune called The Beast’s Embrace. After many failed experiments, this rune was forbidden from use. That did not stop its discovery from becoming the foundation of the Healing Church, however.

This seems quite important lore-wise, no?

Aww man, I stopped after Rom a few months ago in preparation for the DLC. Looks like that character will be a tad overlevelled for the DLC. Won't take long to get this far in a new play through at least.

Hmm. I'd better not be locked out of it in my current run. I just beat
Micolash.
It's not a big deal I suppse, since I only have one mandatory boss to go, and can speed through a NG++++ run.

Edit: does the new patch let us open the door from the Great Bridge to the bottom of the Cathedral Ward?

maybe even if access to dlc is quite early game enemies will still be tough as they are in later sections of the game?

You won't be, don't worry.
