Guess I'll do more talking. I did overhear a guard say something to the effect of "He's good company". It just strikes me as unrealistic when
everyone's paranoid about Synths snatching their families away and shit
, especially in light of the real-world concerns over Syrian refugees.

The fact that he doesn't hide the fact that he is an older model synth probably has a lot to do with it.

How long does it take in real time for a location to restock? I need some aluminum but I already cleaned out the fish packing plant in the NE. When can I go back for more?

I think people are mostly afraid of the synths that look like humans and try to disguise their true identity. In the case of Valentine, he's been in Diamond City for a long time and hasn't done anything fishy, he's obviously a synth and doesn't try to hide it, and his business aims to help people who need mysteries solved.

Even still, people know that Synths can snap at any moment. Seems like a huge leap of faith to trust him, older model or otherwise.
At any rate, I'll talk to him - maybe what he has to say will be a little more convincing.

I really wish Beth allowed us to make some adjustments like this to our suit of armor, really customize it even further.

I'm also salty they didn't include the Riot Gear from New Vegas. That shit was the GOAT.
I can see Bethesda introducing this in future DLC. As for Riot Gear, I'm 100% confident we'll see that on the Nexus not too long after modding tools are released.

Level 82 and still feeling perk-deprived. Also, just realized that there IS in fact a way to get vendors that sell legendaries in your settlements.

Fuck, just met the owner of that bar in Diamond City who is sleeping with someone's wife.

Do I kill him or help him with his drug deal?

CHOICES MAN. CHOICES.

Man, I had already killed the guy to get in his safe before meeting the husband. So I agree to do it but now I can't find the husband to tell him it's done. Do you know where he is?

That's worth investigating. My .50 has Assassin (50% to humans) and my .308 has Poisoned (think it's +3 poison damage for 10 seconds). You don't have Bloody Mess? that also tweaks the numbers.

Oh yeah, have that as well. 3 points IIRC.

I think many locations get new enemies after a week in game, don't quote me on that though it might be less or more. With new enemies I assume new items.

But if you have a buttload of caps go buy a shipment of aluminum from vendors

On PC here, how do you link settlements together?

Local leader perk. Need to get two points into it. You can then assign someone to go between settlements. Example: send someone from sanctuary to the castle. Then send sometime from castle to the farm. Now, all 3 are connected. You don't need to send one from sanctuary to the farms since they daisy chain.

I'm guessing I need to take the castle for this to happen b/c I can't really command people to do anything yet even though I have those 2 perks.

Not to my knowledge, I was just using it as example. If you have other settlements open you should be able to link them. That said, I'm not 100% certain now lol. Maybe someone else can chime in here since I didn't start assigning until after I had secured the castle.

I need some help. Im on the
Hunter/Hunted
Mission on PS4 and the HUD isnt displaying the signal percentage anymore. I cant tell if I am getting closer for not. I have been running around
CIT
blind for a while just trying to find the
synth
but to no avail.

Is there a way to reset the quest or get the radio working again?

If you just want to know where to go...
the Greentech Genetics building.

What building materials can you buy from merchants? I'm building so much in various settlements that the supply line from Sanctuary Hills might run dry at some point.

No idea but his wife hangs out at one of the bars. and they have a house but it's locked. I did the quest though, didn't kill Crooke.

Basically Crooke and Nelson Latimer (son of that rich snob) are doing a chem deal and Crooke wants my help and I ask the husband for help too

I show up and
kill everyone except the husband, Crooke, and some lady that tells me where their stash of chems are. That turns into another quest. Crooke then leaves town and the husband asks if you can split the share because he wants to buy his wife a house.

You also get
Latimer's
house key from his body but his place doesn't have anything good at all. You think it'd have something good since
his dad's rich.

who wants to buy their cheating wife a house so badly they get involved in a chem deal...oh well. got to hold on to love in the wasteland :p

these little side quest stories are amazing.

Do settlers assigned to supply lines count in the settler count? Because when I ring the bell at the Red Rocket truck stop, only eight show up even though I've got 17 according to the game. It's my trading hub, so that would make sense.

None of the level 4 traders I've found have shown up there so far, though.

So out of the total 28 hour play time I've put at least 12 hours into my settlement. I've had a single raider and bloatfly attack. Nothing else has wandered by...

Pretty much all of them I've found. Different vendors will sell different materials but they can be quite expensive. Abernathy Farm sells concrete for example which is really useful for building concrete blocks to do the clipping glitch. Weapons merchants will sell stuff like screws and metal. Clothing shops will sell cloth, leather etc.

If you get the stores in your settlement established you can buy from them too. You might have done it already but growing corn, tatos and mutfruit along with a water purifier will give you infinite adhesive and oil so you'll never need to buy them.

You only need lvl 1 Local Leader perk for supply lines; lvl 2 is for stores.

You don't need to have castle. To command people in a settlement, you just have to be in workshop mode and point at them. For supply line, the default key is then Q on PC.

So I placed Mama Murphey in her chair eons ago, I've re-arranged my settlement and can't move her or the chair to a new location. So I've boxed the old lady into her own fence fortress.

I'm about 24 (on my current character anyway, restarted a couple of times) in and probably half has been building up Sanctuary. Not had a single attack their yet despite my defense rating being low compared to food/power/water.

I did get a message during a quest that I hadn't defended Abernathy Farm (never been their to be honest barring one quest). I went over when I had finished and everyone was still alive with a couple of Super Mutants stood near who were non-hostile, killed them and that was about it.

Her chair has disappeared in mine, she just stands in the same place it should be looking sad.

So I started my character with all perception, agility and luck. Is it possible for me to level up high enough to raise my stats and get all the crafting skills or would it be easier to roll a second character? At what point does leveling slow down significantly?

If you convince her to
stop taking chems
, she starts walking around like a regular settler and doesn't use the chair anymore.

I started my second character after finishing the story yesterday. I made a Power Armor build. Holy smokes I am having so much more fun. I am Lvl 17, 6 hours in, and have 19 cores. It's amazing how many you can find in the world. I'm also just going in to every location now and clearing it out. So much fun.

Now I need to build my fortress for my power armors...

the Greentech Genetics building.

After a few hours of doing other things, it randomly came back. I was way off. I thought it was at the main building the entire time. Thanks for the tip though.

Morning at The Castle involves everyone waking up and all trying to exit the sleeping bag room at once.

Wow you got the whole settlement sleeping in 1 room lmao. Imagine the incessant farting at night?

Fuck, just met the owner of that bar in Diamond City who is sleeping with someone's wife.

Do I kill him or help him with his drug deal?

CHOICES MAN. CHOICES.

I helped him, felt like I should have just killed him .. was such a douche.

I pretty much have one Settlement for my settlers (Star Light Drive-In) and one for my own personal base (Red Rocket). When I find a new settlement I take all the mats and move any settlers I can to my main base.

Some NPCs you can't move so...too bad for them :p

I might start another big settlement though. Star Light Drive-In is sitting @18 now.

How do you move settlers? All mine are gathering at Red Rocket, when I want them to come to Sanctuary >.<

Thgis is what I didn't know that you had to talk to them while in building mode. Thanks.

What exactly do tthe supply lines do? And if I send a settler from Sanctuary to the Drive in. Do I have to send one from tthe drive in next to extend the supply lines?

I ran into this
twin shootout
last night and am equally confused.

I don't think it's anything important. Just a little world-building thing.

One's a synth.

I started with high CHR, AGI and LCK. You have plenty of levels to put points into the crafting perks. I've got full Gun Nut and the Armor one at level 37. I haven't noticed any leveling slow down.

Just some random encounter, I don't think there's anything tied to it beyond them trying to show the whole Institute with their people replacing Synths.

Silly question: how many supply lines can a single provisioner maintain? is it one or can they do multiple settlements? I created a hub and spoke style provisioning network, but I can't remember how I did it. Did I do it with one provisioner or did I use multiple provisioners?

Ok I'm getting really confused about the main story now...

I've been doing quests with everyone. I have the battle for bunker hill quest so I can do that whenever. But when doing quests for the BOS I get caught up In a quest that makes me hostile with the RailRoad?! I'm not even sure I want that, infact I don't have a freaking clue what to do. I feel I've missed quests due to the mish mash way the story has unfolded. Is Sean even my enemy anymore? Are the railroad mislead? Are the BOS just the commonwealth bully? The minutemen seem to be the only neutral faction. But there's no choice to join them at bunker hill. Ugh.
Can you suggest anything my friends? Help a vault dweller out.

If there isnt a zombie apocalypse mod out for fallout 4, ima be mad.

There's just something special and satisfying about mowing down a bunch of feral ghouls with a minigun.

I think it is only two i.e. A - B but not 100% sure. As I understand it the provisioner will travel between two settlements and they'll still affect the food/water/population at their home settlement despite never really being there.

Settlements do share resources between them if they are part to a network though so if you connect settlement A->B, B->C, and B->D, then A, C, and D will also share resources with each other despite not directly being connected since they are still part of the same network. So you could connect 4 settlements up with 3 provisioner's there. They are invincible whilst out travelling too.

So I've got a little probably. Any way to change the amount you're carrying. I have 3.5 pounds on me and it says I have 5375

I know I can do player.modav carryweight 5500 but I'd like to fix it if I can.
