Ugh, I forgot about that leaked date.

Didn't they historically start around the 16th? As in, this week? Further as in, tomorrow?

I don't want to wait another week. I need something to give a shit about; I need feelings again!

Maybe we get another presale event like auction.
Probably nope :(

I guess Valve doesn't feel the need to have a long sale if we're not getting daily deals.

I mean, what's the point?

That the Chinese Cryengine 3 one? Then yeah.
Nope, I don't.

I'd rather have God Eater.
God Eater was not that fun to me and burst waned on me with the weapon being awkward to use. Also that plot was horrible.

It's $40 fucking dollars? Well shit now I look silly for bringing it up a few days ago.

Read at the end.

That still looks like Ruby Rose from RWBY if she suddenly became edgy.

There's a 23% voucher on GMG and it works with lightning returns which is still 10% off. Pretty sure GMG is a authorized square seller.

Man. Tales of Berseria looks like it's right up my alley. It's good that they have the game running at a decent frame rate. I wish they wouldn't have tried to develop this on archaic hardware as well. Star Ocean definitely has the upper had on visual fidelity.

So Nier is good? Amazon.de will have the PS3 version as a deal today 16:00 German time which is interesting because they themselves aren't offering it anymore since a good while ago and used prices are relatively high. Would also fit into my year-of-PS3-shitting-on-PS4, divert attention away from the assuredly pitiful holiday sale and make it easier to wait for the PC port of Automata.

29,95€

lolno

Also it's a deal not directly from Amazon, didn't know that's a thing during those Cyber Blabla sales.

And we all know how TressFX was successful. When they announce 5-10 games with their techs outside Square Enix we can talk.

They got partnerships with Sega, EA, Square Enix and a few other pubs so I wouldn't be surprised to a decent amount of games with some of their tech in them.

It got pretty late last night (~4am) when I finally made a visit to Gwyn and properly finished NG+. All in all NG+ was much easier. Knowing enemy behavior, levels and having so many spells and weapons make it almost trivial for an NG veteran.

I finished NG at exactly 144hrs and NG+ at 203hrs. So about 60hrs for NG+. I didn't rush it, collected all loot, even finished all "story quests" (Solaire, Reah, Siegmeyer, Logan, Lautrec) a second time and Invasions for items (Kirk, Xanthus). On top of that I am very glad I managed to get all special tail weapons that I missed on my first playthrough (Kalameet, Gaping Dragon, Sanctuary Guardian, Seath).

It's not that I'm particularly proud or anything but it made me very happy that I was able to finish NG+ off with only parry-attacking Gwyn as it was something I never even imagined of pulling off at the end of NG.
Pretty nice how the music I had in the background ended up going so well in concert with the events of the fight. Glad I recorded it but it's not a perfect parry fight so please, disregard my heavy Estus usage and just be happy alongside me :)

Please, enjoy!

Anyway, FFXIII-2 is running like shit on my PC. Tried the fps fix but it barely helps. Should I just uninstall it altogether?

And what's with the rain? Is it raining water or white lasers?
Its may sounds like sacrilege, but did you tried limit fps to 30?
Also there is fan patch that fixes rain effect.

I'm disappointed veggie. You should have all the achievements.
Haha, I know you're joking ;)

I have no interest in achievements, when playing games I have my own achievements in my head (do this, do that etc.). Sometimes they coincide with "official" achievements. The ones I'm missing above are only max weapon in the various types. Not interested in them atm. And of course the last Sif souls weapon. I did power through last night though and finished Asylum Demon, Taurus Demon, Bell Gargoyles and Moonlight Butterfly in an hour! Sif is pretty easy anyway, so maybe I'll do him. Dunno.

Those partnerships have amounted to almost nothing so far. TressFX has only been used once (with one upcoming game)? Bullet physics was used in a dozen games. The Mantle API was used in less than ten games, half of which were on one engine. At least Mantle ended up being a foundation for Vulkan and possibly DX12.

The bottom line here though, is that developers rarely choose their middleware on ideological grounds. Everyone loves the idea of open software but ultimately somebody has to put in the work. The alternative is proprietary tech like Gameworks where Nvidia has invested the time and money to make these features easy to use for devs and that's why they get used so much. Give a developer a choice to study an API and do research before creating their own functions or simply call pre-existing libraries and I can guarantee you 100% of the time they will choose the latter.

I'm not discounting the value of the approach that AMD uses as it does obviously have it's benefits but I doubt Nvidia is worried about it.

After being up on the Workshop for 15 days, got my second game Greenlit onto Steam, Red Haze. I'm happy, though it's another little freeware title like my previous game, Close Your Eyes.

EDIT:

OH WAIT, it wasn't just Red Haze that got Greenlit, my other smaller project got Greenlit too, Take the Dream IX (it's a parody game).

Congrats :D but real question is will you support GPUOpen or GameWorks? :D

eh, skins are inoffensive. while i'd prefer a way to unlock them like you could with most games back in the day, I also prefer it to pay2win style unlocks that even shit like The Last of Us had.

I also think that skins and cosmetics should all be included in Season Passes but those things continue to get crappier and crappier. I remember getting the Gears of War 3 season pass for cheap and getting like, one skin with it or some shit.

I dunno, i'd rather they just charge $65-$70 for games if they feel like theyre not getting enough cash at retail for their games but it's not like charging more for games is going to stop these business practices. meh.

Not giving a fuck about crafting all the weapons? Plus don't you need at least 2.5 playthroughs to get all 3 of Sifs weapons?

I have 231 hours, but I got all the achievements twice, first on GFWL and then on Steam.

Achievements are life.

Actually only some achievements are life, most are death.

What game would be maximum comfy for a snow day?

Banished would be perfect, but I've already played the hell out of that game.

Everything is now microtransactions.

But you still have to buy the $60 game first.

It's definitely a value proposition that you have to asses on a game by game basis.

You can't just say that one particular game is garbage because it has microtransactions. Do they effect your experience? No, then there isn't an issue.

I'm not sure how this effects this scenario, just a general discussion point.

Just beat Batman Arkham Asylum
The battle arena against 2 giants and mooks would've been a lot easier if it were in a wider area.

Overall I enjoyed it but the final battles were disappointing.

Gonna play Arkham City eventually down the line.

The series gets better in regards to boss battles but I will always prefer AA's game-in-a-fortress versus the big hubworld that the batman games ended up becoming. Arkham City is great, Oranges is good but gets a little too much love for what it is, and I haven't played AK but it seems to be as well received as Oranges minus the part where it's an unoptimized mess on PC.

I liked Blackgate but it's definitely a flawed gem of a game

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

I feel like my answer to this question may not fit everyone's situation but the underlying principle is the same. My favorite (near perfect) game for maximum enjoyment on a snowy day? Final Fantasy. Why? Because I have so many memories of when I was younger playing Final Fantasy (as far back as the first game) all day long when I was off school for snow days and over Christmas break. For me, having the time to really dig into a good RPG is the epitome of great gaming.

Obviously your own answer will probably be different.

With cosmetic microtransactions in fullprice games I have an issue. First you pay 60$ at launch, then instead of letting you unlock these, you should buy a new skin/color palette/mask for another money besides the seasonpass or real content DLC they still offer.

I really hated that in Borderlands 2. Their DLC scheme was the worst. Mask-DLC, a seasonpass that doesnt even include everything, fucking level-cap DLC etc.
