Touched a nerve? Who are you even talking to. Lose the snark.

Yes, Microsoft has had a pretty great lineup of exclusives for mainstream gamers, no-one is dusputing that, but how does that warrant a 'SonyGAF' response or make us biased?
You act like the votes were cast out of some intrinsic love for Sony, regardless of the quality of the actual games in question. If anything, NeoGAF simply reflects trends in enthusiast gaming audiences worldwide.

You've been stretching pretty hard to make your last two posts, even going as far to pull, not only, words out of thin air, but entire arguments as well.

I think I'm going to dip out as this didn't begin amicably, and likely won't end that way.

Also, I kind of find GOTY lists inherently worthless as a means of declaring worth or validating my own opinions.

I find a community GOTY list like this fascinating more for finding some great games that I have missed and identifying games that I need to give another chance.

this.

its also interesting to look at in contrast of what the media has picked as far as goty.

The poster with the highest number of appearances on affinity charts is Andylonn with a whopping 107(!!!) hits. Barasailey also had a buttload at 75.

holy cow. i only had 8 lol.

Yes, this is a healthy way to look at it

I'm actually surprised MGSV did so well considering the way I've seen GAF talk about it. I mean it's a distant third but still.
I'm speaking only for myself and maybe some people who were posting in the OT and spoiler threads when it released, but it's really a case of liking/loving a flawed game. It made an overall great impression but when it comes to discussing the game, a number of people saw glaring issues in an otherwise impeccable game, and felt the need to discuss this pretty remarkable situation. To put it differently, I guess I was discussing the bad parts while I played the good ones.

I'm not so sure about that, considering MOBAs, MP games or eSports in general are big, yet the majority on this site don't want to recognize them. I mean, LoL is magnitudes bigger than GAF.

Like critics choice as a whole, PC exclusives join handheld and mobile in "things that will never win GOTY"

I think the one exception was Half-Life 2, which fits directly in the single player narrative-focused AAA console space of the past 10 years of GOTY winners.

Missed the stats file during the first check, interesting:

Reasonable since I only have a PS4 this gen. Also seem to appear 42 times in user affinity lists, with some first places as well, cool!

You and me could have been best friends forever if not for the Fallou 4 entry =(

Great list, bud.

I must say we all have to give props to the top two games considering there developers were relatively small fish until recently.

If you would have told me back in the Witcher 1 days that the company would grow so much and turn Witcher 3 into such a relatively successful single-player title...

I don't know what I would've said, but it would have been in disbelief!

Hey, I ain't complaining.

If you read my post title, I actually think it looks pretty alright. *shrug*

Bloodborne was life changing. I bought into the GAF hyper and honestly didn't know if I would like it. I had started Demon's Souls years ago but never made it far. I didn't know if I was good enough. I repeated the first stage so many times wondering if I should well and truly give up. Finally made it to the Cleric Beast and tried 12 times. I decided to keep going and finally met Father G. Heart hammering because of his aggressiveness, I beat him on the 6th try and actually fist pumped. I knew I was hooked.

Even ignoring Trails in the Sky, Cold Steel also got messed up in tabulations or something.
It has 64 points, so it should be the number 1 Vita game.
Vita category only counts exclusives. Cold Steel gets bypassed due to also being out on PS3.

What? I'm saying you couldn't possibly have expected stuff like Undertale, Rocket League, Life is Strage or Until Dawn on this list a year ago. And that would be surprising if you hadn't followed GAF all year. Not sure what amount of posts has got to do with it.

Actually they would've made it, if Bayonetta 2 is anything to go by :X

Let us meditate on the journey of 2015.

It was a great year wasn't--

drago pls don't encourage him- he's going to think he isn't a bad and that can't happen

:(

From my Recommended list:

8. [PSP][PSV][PC] The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter (RPG) = 3 points

I mean I guess I could play my #3 from the voting thread again? I did really enjoy it after all, thanks for the recommendation!

Liking this much better. Now we just have to get more people to play it.
All of those PCs that can run Undertale can run the Trails games, too.

fuckin' Shadow of Mordor was winning GOTYs that year. People were desperate to attach themselves to anything decent and AAA.
I'm still shuddering over here.

Maximum Affinity reached!

Now for the romance scene.

oh my

with that out of the way, let's get back to the important matters and re-vote 2008 again
MGS4 to clean up even more than usual this time as people long for the days where it was about the 30 minute long cutscenes of nonsense and not about the gameplay.

half joking

DaMN I didn't even see the voting thread. Add one more vote for Monster Hunter 4U! It's actually one of my favorite games of all times. 😊

You're going to have to get people to play the first game. I have it sitting there in my library.

Glad to see Monster Hunter 4 ultimate here. More and more people seem to be getting into the series and that could not make me happier.
