Probably because it has a ton of stuff that couldn't be compressed without fucking over mod support and cutscenes.

The mod pack is also ~50GB and that's all uncompressed assets, so it could be worse.

Hype still plays a large role, which tends to go against PC exclusives outside of "mass-market" genres.

Bugs too, probably, although as others have noted, this criticism is often selectively applied.

Australian devs still make Western games.
