I'm really impressed by Lost Socks.
First impression was amazing, but the more I play, the better it gets...multiple paths, weapons, enemies, tasks to complete, powers....it's an audiovisual orgy, always smooth as silk.

I get the same vibes I got playing at arcades back in the days.
The game also doesn't mess around...it gets hard really fast but it's always fair.
Stages length (so far) is perfect and let you memorize the tricky parts to fulfill all the tasks.

Really well done, can't wait to sink some serious hours in this (looks to be pretty long).
---
As for variety in Lost Socks....believe me, you won't be bored.
I'm not at least, and I just finished a 2 hours session replaying previous levels.

Later on for example there is ice covering jump pads that you may or may not want to use (different paths and some are traps) and gears that if shoot at (or not) change fundamentally the level layout....so you will have to be VERY precise in what to shoot at...bashing the buttons madly is not an option anymore especially if you aim for a particular task.

I finally unlocked the Serpent gun, dripping with venom that evaporates enemies.

GLORIOUS

It's super hard now....to reach the shadow world you have to break all cages and even get the high score achievement almost anywhere.
The serpent weapon really helps (I just 3 starred a bunch of levels that I thought impossible before) and I finally found where the hell some cages were hidden (yes there are secrets routes later on).

I didn't know this was a dev first effort.
I find it hard to believe.
The game would be at home on a PS4 or a XBOXONE.
And while at first I found the socks idea a bit weird for my tastes I must say the characters have a lot of personality.
Some enemies are pretty memorable too...at least I know I hate some of them with a real passion.
Almost 3 am here playing...I must sleep.
Alright, I was lucky enough to proclaim an early code for Lost Socks and...it's every bit of awesome as Pitta says!!!

Kind of feels like it out Rayman's Rayman. Has that brutal difficulty of the early Rayman games with much more focus on combat with the smooth animation and gameplay of the newer auto running Rayman games.

It's just fantastic. I haven't made it to the first boss yet and, honestly, am not concerned about a lack of bosses because the regular levels themselves are incredibly difficult.

I'm currently only at level 1-7 and am having a whale of a time passing it (got as far as what I believe was the very last enemy once and mistimed a jump).

Only wish is the ability to customize the button layout. I've found myself shooting when I wanted to dash and vice versa. Just would like to spread them apart a bit more.

But other than that, it's fantastic and hard to believe this is the studio's first game. So polished and well put together.

I haven't heard what the price tag will be but I'd say at least from my early impressions that this is a must buy for fans of auto runners, platformers and fast paced combat. It's hardcore so far more difficult than the newer Rayman games. But oh so fun!

This looks insanely good. How is it controlled? Look like the kind of thing that would frustrate me on an idevice.

Game looks nice but I'll probably wait a little before biting. I never finish runners. Haven't finished any of the Rayman games.

oh my god, i need to buy this game. i loved the style from earthworm jim back in the day, but the game was so difficult so i never played it through.

Super simple. One button to jump, and three more for dash, light weapon, and heavy weapon. No need to aim or control movement, but that doesn't mean this game is easy

On the fifth level right now and so far it seems kinda basic. Not to say that it isn't fun but maybe the hype got me expecting a little bit more.

It really warms my heart seeing the game featured by Apple all the world.

Just read a dev post on TA where they mention they already have MiFi support up and running for the first time today.

Just for fun I tried Lost Sock on the big TV screen via AirPlay mirroring.
While not really playable without a controller because you have to see the buttons.....it's absolutely GORGEOUS.

Some friends were at my place and they all thought it was from a PS4.

Well, that would be the most logical assumption regardless of the graphics considering you were playing on the TV. :p

Sooo, anybody else playing this? Want more impressions!

Overall, I like the game a lot. The levels are short enough that it doesn't feel like a giant downer to keep retrying them, which is good because that'll probably be happening a lot, especially if you're trying for the score medals or the extra challenges.

I'd probably recommend it, but only if you're not the kind of person who throws their stuff a lot.
