About that leak...

Why would it list Monster hunter x Fire Emblem?
Just asking, as I haven't heard of such a project. I also don't think Monster Hunter has had any Fire Emblem costumes or such...

Edit: My bad. looks like MHX really did get FE costumes.

No, that was Frontier G, the online focused game.

In the chance that the SNES Virtual Console games for the Nintendo 3DS are a thing, I hope Nintendo did the smart thing and made games that were previously purchased on the Wii/Wii U a free download for those that have already bought them.

Maturity, bitches.
So Kirby's voice actress retweeted the Direct announcement, according to NintendoNews.

Well Nintendo of Europe hates Kirby so a lack of it in the European Direct would not reflect on the possibility of there being announcement elsewhere.

FWIW: I checked her timeline history and I think she retweets every Direct that has Kirby content in it, so Smash stuff falls into that category as well of course. The question is: does she just show support by retweeting or is there a new title coming that includes Kirby? Since the last Kirby title isn't too long ago, I assume that there could be the chance they'll show off that N-Stars title that Trev leaked which Kirby would be part of. It could be a standalone Kirby title as well or maybe itsfuckingnothing.gif

Kirby makes sense. HAL is pretty efficient when it comes to these games. DS had like four games and 3DS only has one so far.

Edit - misunderstood. Nintendotweet tweeted about kirby's voice actress ok.

Why would the voice actress of all people be involved in a port?

To show support for the franchise which could increase sales which could further guarantee a sequel which would mean more job security.

Edit: I also wouldn't be surprised if kirby was somehow only announced on the JP stream. Didn't they get triple deluxe way before us?

Ok not WAY before us:
JP 11 January 2014[1]
NA 2 May 2014
EU 16 May 2014[2]

boiled goose

good with gravy
When are they gonna unify the freaking eshop.

Having to buy nes mario separately on wiiu and 3ds is terrible and outdated.

It hurts consumers and hurts Nintendo s ecosystem.

I just want a release date for Fire Emblem: Fates.

think FE will be my last 3ds game and don't see me buying anymore Wii U games (assuming that Zelda wii u will be cross-gen).

Apparently the same Twitter seemed to imply before they acknowledged Ohmoto's retweet that they had some info about something Kirby related showing up, and that they didn't want to say anything because of spoilers or it possibly being wrong.

Oh c'mon, you know they won't.
I really hope they offer the discount as well as a very obvious first step toward unified digital purchases across all systems.

Would be sweet if they show a short bit of new Zelda again after maybe showing a launch trailer of TP HD?

I really doubt we'll get a launch trailer for TP HD considering their youtube channel already has 3 retrospectives and several trailers, some of them detailing basically every new feature from the game. They've shown enough and the game comes out tomorrow - people will just tune out if they go into anything longer than 5 seconds for TPHD.

While it doesn't make sens that they'd show Zelda before the NX cross-platform reveal, now that the smash updates are done they don't really have any heavy hitters left. I honestly don't think they have anything that would top Zelda 2016 gameplay/title/news. It'd be a good idea to at least give us a name so people don't keep calling it "Zelda Wii U" when it's likely not exclusive to the Wii U. I also don't think there's anything they could do to make the direct a "success" if they don't show Zelda just because of the disappointment and frustration that would cause. Even though people have been trained over the past two years to expect nothing about it, you can't help but get your hopes up every time which leads to inevitable dissatisfaction.

Triple Deluxe was such a letdown though... I know Kirby games aren't supposed to be hard but that game was literally just me walking through a series of colorful decorated hallways.

Kirby games are always cakewalks... until you start doing the sidestuff.

Triple Deluxe was fantastic. imo. Dat soundtrack.

I really want to see the Bayo Amiibo and have FE: Fates with a date and a Limited Edition up for pre-order asap, add in StarFox Zero with a potential Arwing/LandMaster Amiibo (tales from my ass hunch) and I'll be happy. Haven't really kept up to date with Pokken, maybe they could sell me on that too and I think Youkai Watch look awesome so will be interested in picking that up :p

These Directs are no longer exciting anymore.

Miss the hype of seeing that Smash logo and a new character reveal. :(

This is literally the first Direct in a couple of years that won't have that. How do you know it won't still be exciting?

Directs are basically the modern day nintendo power equivalent but people get hyped for each one like it's E3 in march. It's not. It's just a brief overview of things to come with a few announcements. If you look at it like a new issue of nintendo power coming in the mail rather than a giant press conference with multiple bombs being dropped then you can just sit back and enjoy it rather than be disappointed when it's not the greatest thing you could imagine.

I think the lack of frequency recently (or maybe even smash reveals) made people get more and more hyped for this, but for a time, I recall nintendo directs being something neat to look forward to rather than this thing in which people need megatons or it wasn't worth it.

Nintendo direct doesn't HAVE to have megatons - just sit back and enjoy. If nothing gets announced that you're hyped about, wait for E3. Smash spoiled you guys, I think.

If I miss to preorder the FE special edition I am totally done with Nintendo. They better have some stock.

Nintendo EU Limited Editions seem to last a lot longer, even the elusive Fatal Frame Wii U Limited Edition was up for a while to pre-order (1500 units in the whole of Europe iirc?)

Kirby games are always easy until you hit endgame content. Getting 100% and playing with abilities in the true arena is the real meat of the game.

Plus Kirby fighters was so good it got spun off as its own game.

Many Nintendo Directs have been announcement filled and felt E3-quality in length and content. I would even argue some were better presentations with more announcements than some of the E3 presentations of the last few years. At least one new thing gets announced even on the smaller Directs that aren't announcement filled, so there will definitely be something. The longer period of time being left between Directs now since Iwata only creates a higher potential for a longer and more filled show.

The November Direct was great and probably better than last E3's presentation. One last announcement being Cloud in Smash was a topper that was worthy of all of the hype. And it was still a great presentation even before that.

These Directs are definitely worth the hype they get. Sometimes they are smaller and not 40+ minutes, but even those are still enjoyable.

More often than not, I think the Directs live up to the hype. They always have at least one surprise. As long as you don't have unrealistic expectations, you should be okay.

That masked Dedede theme.
Moonstruck Blossom! Amazing soundtrack.

We've had a handful that were ok at best and that was fine. Sure, they've all had new games revealed, some better than others, but we've definitely been spoiled. I think it's perfectly OK for a direct in march to have no huge announcements. If it does, that's a bonus, if it doesn't, that's no reason to get mad or upset or disappointed. It's just better if expectations are in check and there are less meltdowns. Just because SOME directs in the past have had huge announcements doesn't mean they ALL have to. Not everything can be january 2013 (SMTxFE, yoshi's wooly world, WWHD, Zelda U announced but not shown, xenoblade X).

As long as you don't have unrealistic expectations, you should be okay.

That's usually where the problem lies. Hell, this thread alone is at 50+ pages, and the direct hasn't even been broadcasted yet. There's bound to be a bunch of high hopes and unrealistic expectations somewhere in there, unfortunately.

No one ever remembers Four Swords Adventures (the only Zelda game not playable on current gen hardware...)

That one would have to be remade quite a bit to be playable on 3DS w/ 4 players. I can't imagine a wii u port of it, either - unless it allowed you to use your 3DS as a controller.

But yeah, between 3DS and Wii U, you can literally play every NA zelda game except for that one (and I guess N64/GC version of OoT master quest), which is incredible. 3DS is literally my favorite console ever made because my home screen is FULL of zelda games. I love it so much.

These threads are normally riddled with negativity. This one mostly is.

If they can't or won't do this then they shouldn't bother.
