WiiU is done

I sympathize with supporters but come this new fiscal year New Nintendo begins

WiiU isnt going to disappear though so take comfort that itll get software well into the end of the year

You might be hard pressed to resist NX if the full support of Nintendo is behind it like we are seeing hints of

Could be ridiculous or could be a bust...
And what about the 3DS? Do you expect it to start fading away later this year?

All the evidence you need is the recent revision for this last fiscal year

everything was adjusted down with both systems underperforming on projections

The transition stage is set for April

That's actually not true at all.

Only 3DS hardware & software were adjusted down.

Wii U hardware projections remained unchanged and software projections were adjusted UP (!) not down (Wii software was also adjusted upwards).

Feel free to re-read. :)

Probably related to the upcoming spring lineup they have set to reveal in this upcoming direct

Interesting that 3DS was projected down even though is seems to be getting just as much software this year

I mean I know its been on a downward trend for awhile anyways (maybe Japan is actually 3DS saturated for its market?)

This has nothing to do with the upcoming year. The projections are for the fiscal year that ends this month. They'll announce their projections for the next FY in next month's investor meeting (end of April).

Soooo

Where the fuck is Trev

Didnt he post an Updates Coming thing on Youtube not that long ago?

Os he dead now?
His source may have been Erik Peterson who just "left" NoA suddenly after 13 years. That budget info is probably what took it too far for Nintendo and they sent a C&D to him and fired his source.

But that doesn't explain why he had to take down the FFXV and FFVIIR coming to NX and being the definitive version videos since that was a rumor/conjecture. Unless it's true?

It obviously wasn't him. He's Treehouse, not upper marketing. :p

You do realize how much access to information people inside the Treehouse have, right? Basically more than anyone else at NoA, outside upper management/VPs.

Here's a good read: http://kotaku.com/inside-the-treehouse-the-people-who-help-make-nintendo-1301809672

Entirely plausible that someone from inside the Treehouse had this information, even if it wasn't him.

You're not necessarily wrong in theory, but in reality, the theory doesn't hold water, that's all I can say :)

I take your word for it, was just shedding some light on the fact that the Treehouse is probably one of the most secretive/unreleased-information-dense places at NoA's campus :)

projection is only for end of March.
It's all bollocks anyway, they would have known sales couldn't reach 7.6 million at their last report at the start of Feb., nothing much could have changed in the few weeks until the adjustment in that regard, they just decided to bundle all the bad news together.

Treehouse is NoA's marketing. NoA is basically a giant marketing firm for Nintendo's western support along with localization.
It wasn't Erik :)
You'd know :)

The theory doesn't hold water that it was Erik, I was joking lol. But the theory that it's a treehouse member does. Your tone says it ;)

So the rumoured list in the OP is almost spot on with the Nintendo Direct. NX in holiday 2016 looking more and more likely.

Spring-Early Summer
Mario and Sonic Rio 2016
Nintendo Selects Wave 1
Hyrule Warriors Legends
Disney Art Academy
Bravely Second
Code Name: “Caviar F” (all ages smaller budget game) Pokemon Rumble World Retail
Metroid Prime: Federation Force

Summer
Code name: “Torte City” big budget unannounced game for all gamers core/all ages Kirby
Dragon Quest VII
Code name: “Cadillac” (all ages smaller budget game late summer) Rhythm Heaven

Fall-Holiday
3DS Hardware Price Cut
Code name: “N-Stars” big budget game for all ages
Nintendo Selects Wave 2
Code name: “DMW2” possibly Disney Magical World 2
Dragon Quest VIII
Pokémon 20th Anniversary game “Niji” (remember code names mean nothing, forget about the Rainbow, your gold is not there)
.

So happy and so sad at the same time: We'll get Zelda U (and NX) this year... Sad because I wanted a mini-trailer, or even a logo/title... -_-

"Caviar F" was likely Mini-Mario Amiibo Whatever.

Cool lineup of games overall, though I'm sad that none of the codenames seem to have been for Style Savvy 3. Though if some of these titles are year(s)-late localizations, maybe there's hope for SS3 in 2017.

What is N-Stars?

Could it possible be Monster Hunter Generations? If only because it seems that much like MH4U we'll be seeing several crossover armour sets, starting with Marth.

If anything, MH4U certainly seemed like it starred several Nintendo characters without them explicitly making an appearance.

N-Stars hasn't been announced yet. Nintendo loves announcing surprise Holiday titles during their E3 Directs, so we'll probably find out what it is then.

If N-Stars is a high budget title, we are not getting the next generation portable in 2016 in North America. Not like they'd want to sabotage their market anyways.

Someone with source said that Cadilac is Style Savvy in other thread.

Didn't someone else say "Cadilac" has historically been Pokemon games of some sort?

That was my first time hearing about that right now. Can you find a post for someone to mention that?

The same guy who leaked Pokemon White 2 and Black 2.

I'd like to think that Cadillac was for Kirby and YW2 for Torte City.

I'm betting that they'll announce YW2 at E3.

They haven't announced an exact release date for RH +, so its possible its not one of the summer releases.

Kirby is not something I see Nintendo spending a huge budget on.

Style Savvy seems like its out of the picture now.

I guess this Direct kind shows that not only is the Wii U dying, but the 3DS is on its way out as well. With the exception of Federation Force & maybe Sun/Moon (we have yet to see gameplay), most of Nintendo's 3DS games that they're publishing are either late localizations or games based on pre-existing engines to pad out the 3DS line-up this year. While it does indicate that the NX Handheld won't be out this year, it does kinda show that Nintendo was in a bit of a rush to get enough games to keep the 3DS alive until at least early 2017. Lucky for them, the third party games are picking up the slack (a number of which being late localizations, namely Bravely Second & Monster Hunter Generations).

That being said, I'm surprised that Nintendo didn't touch on Mother 3 or Style Savvy (that is, unless Rhythm Heaven Megamix is actually Cadillac & not Style Savvy 3).

Having re-evaluated everything, I still believe that's right.

eShop stuff doesn't seem to be covered (i.e. Rhythm Heaven) in this list - note that the Jockey and MDK amiibo games aren't there either, nor is SNES Virtual Console. So i think Cadillac is still Style Savvy, not Rhythm Heaven.

Kirby is definitely the Torte game though.

Isn't Rhythm Heaven getting a physical copy? It wasn't listed as an eShop-only title.

They have to save some 3DS and Wii U news for E3 to entice consumers to buy them or not completely abandon them. Probably Zelda U (probably shown as an NX game and also coming to Wii U), more extensive Paper Mario footage, TMS (it won't be out at E3 yet), and for 3DS they'll show Pokémon Sun/Moon, Detective Pikachu, Mother 3 and some other late localizations.

So hyped that this info continues prove to be true as each day pass by. Cannot wait for that sweet Zelda on NX. Literally don't care about anything else at this point. I'm done buying games for Wii U and 3DS and it's just a matter of patiently wait to move onto new hardware while playing Splatoon. Don't fuck it up, Nintendo. Don't. I trust you will not dissapoint dis time.

At the very least we should see the Call of Duty thing soon. Man, the Nintendo ninjas have been sleeping lately!

Though this is probably an Activision ninja, you get what I mean

Spider-Man: The First Avenger? What? That's the subtitle of the first Captain America movie...I'm highly skeptical that the MCU is going to tie into a game that reuses a subtitle.

Also, what credible video game website would type this and not know how to spell Mewtwo?

Shared library would mean yes.

Shared library between 3DS and NX? I've never seen that speculated before. I've only seen people talk about it being between NX devices.

I was talking about the NX devices, I don't see anything in that rumor that implies Sun/Moon is going anywhere but the 3ds, but they could make it cross gen.
