If you need assurances about length or content then, for obvious reasons, we can't give you that information. It might be better for you to wait for reviews or GAF impressions first to find the information you need before purchase. For instance I put in 30+ hrs into both betas combined and for me I just need more of the same but if that isn't your experience or what you're looking for then I'd wait :)
Ok, I'm just really hyped but super paranoid about this release.

"Braindead" seems a little harsh can you elaborate?

You magnetically attach yourself to the various "chest high" objects and play whack-a-mole with the various enemies that pop up from behind their "chest high" objects. Rinse and Repeat. Trying not to take cover will get you killed pretty much as the game is not designed to be played that way really in the more serious firefights in game. The devs even mentioned that.

I have the 100$ USD version ordered regardless of that since know exactly what Im getting into. And the beta was amusing enough.

Btw theres no reason to worry about going in day 1 anyways as everything will be a clusterfuck like any online game launch. So just sit back, watch Rome burn and make your decision based off of that.

Man you're more cynical then Jim

I think you're oversimplifying everything since its an RPG with stat building and gun customization.

I will miss Deej

lol no. Its still exactly the same gameplay wise. Only real difference is the skills might change how you play up things, but the very basics of gameplay is the same.

Even more so when it comes to doing the missions on hard mode.

Go educate yourself a bit with videos. As there are a TON of them out there thanks to the open beta they did.

What you see is what you will get basically.

Dont forget having to deal with the "Lord of the Flies" bullshit that will happen in the Dark Zone once everyone starts to get kitted out after a week. Everyone will cooperate at first to get their shit extracted ASAP and after that its going to turn into Fuck Y'all I Got Mine. And ganking galore out of boredom or the usual asshattery that occurs with online games. And since the Darkzone is where you will have to pretty much go to get the good shit, you will need to go find a group to hang with as going solo eventually will turn into a mess unless you get lucky and find EZ that are empty.

Maps are quite flat for the most part in comparison to destiny. So if you are one who gives a shit about world geometry am sure that will be one huge point to "boredom".

If you like going pewpewpew and picking up loot in a modern setting and or love braindead cover shooters you "might" enjoy this game.

Sorry, what game are you talking about?

In the open beta, literally the first thing i did was find a way on to a rooftop, solve a platforming/geometry puzzle for some high-end loot, get in a tense fight, then engage in a battle from a rooftop down onto the streets. Then at the end of the beta i beat the flamethrower boss alone by using stealth to flank around him and shotgun his fuel tank from behind.

The Division's beta had more meaningful, well-designed maps and gameplay (for my tastes) than anything i played in my 25 hours of Destiny.

Hey, does anyone know if this game is super short and shallow like destiny cause I'm super paranoid of pre ordering and getting a destiny situation again.

Probably worth waiting.

But for what it's worth, see my text right above - and also i played The Division beta for 6 hours, only just finished the singleplayer content in that time, and saw new shit up to the end. The full game has at least 5x more content (judged by physical area), but probably more than that because lots was hidden in the Beta. In Destiny i'd seen practically everything the game had to offer within 1 hour except the Raid which i fucking did not have desire or time to grind for to reach.

Of course, Destiny has better shooting mechanics, but Division still has solid shooting imo, and lots of other mechanics and systems to keep it infinitely more fresh.

Just two days, folks...

It has already won because of it's loot.

Destiny had the problem that it had no decent loot when it launched so it became old very quick IMO.

The one good thing the division has over Destiny is that the way your skills are swap in and out allows for more "cohesive" team play as you can set yourself up to be actual classes. DPS, Tank, Healer / Support etc. Then what takes that even further is the sub-skills similar to how Diablo III had the various effects which can be changed on a single skill.

Where as Vanilla Destiny, it pretty much was "every man for himself" type of design with the classes. Well besides the shield the Titan could do. The Warlock had buffs I think. And the Hunter, well just leave it alone to play with its sharp objects.

So if you enjoy playing as a cohesive team with a "set" role am sure you will have fun. That and unlike destiny most def seems easier to get PUGs together which is appreciated. For better or worse with how this game is designed once you step into the Dark Zone lol

Well Destiny on release had 22 missions. Division has 28 main missions (plus an unknown number of side missions + encounters).
Each main mission can be replayed on hard (scaling up to the highest level player in the party) and challenge mode (not 100% sure if that's in at launch)

And the game has actual threat mechanics as well, something that Destiny doesn't have.
It basically has the "holy trinity" going on in a shooter.

According few interviews Challenge difficulty should be there in release, day 1.

Which is appreciated since it gives an actual purpose for someone being the tank to pull folks away from other members who are downed so someone can go pick their ass up. Though still yet using the shield is suicide lol. Granted with how if you stack health and armor should be a non-issue with or without the shield though.

While the suppression system is semi-useless, its nice that there is at least something in place mechanics wise which stops enemies from doing the usual "banzai rush" giving zero fucks that they are absorbing an unhealthy amount of lead in the process. (speaking of hard mode here)

Though thankfully due to the suppression system it gives real purpose for one guy to have a box fed LMG instead of just being a tool that compensates for poor aim.

One thing that is too bad is being unable to heal someone that isnt in your party. Since in the Beta had tried on multiple occasions when me and some other randoms were taking down enemies in the DZ subways and we both were unable to heal each other.

How's the endgame content?

A bit hard to answer that considering the game isnt out let alone anyone actually reaching the end eh?

I can see why they are kept apart, but shame we can't share characters between PC and PS4.

I don't mind redoing everything on PC, I suppose the only area that concerns me isnt 'endgame' but it's the classless approach. The flexibility trade off means multiple characters are essentially pointless, unless I'm missing something??

I'm not really interested in it personally. It's clear there'll be plenty to do up yo story/map/loot end for me.

But they've announced a couple of high-difficulty modes which will be patched in for free in the coming 2-3 months (i think). The word 'raid' was never uttered but that's what it sounds like.

Uh, the shield is amazing actually.
You just Need to have electronics skill to increase it's health.
I had an electronics/Stamina build for my tank in beta and my shield had huge amounts of health. I was tanking enemies for days.

The Suppression System is pretty cool actually cause it stops enemies from acting, thereby reducing the DPS on your squad or them throwing grenades AND with talents People actually deal more damage to suppressed enemies as well.
I played a Support class with two LMGs in the beta and suppressed everything I could and my friend just basically flanked them and took them all out.

I feel People are underestimating a lot of stuff in this game and how it will come into Play in higher Level missions/difficulties.

Ah thats right the E skill ups the effects of the skills and such. Totally forgot about that and good point.

In the Beta my build was mostly S with some E. Didnt bother with DPS as much. That and didnt use the shield for a while as stuck with healing + turret as was doing a lot of solo work. Took the turret off when I went into the DZ though and used that search / tag / buff skill instead.

This game for doing the more difficult runs seems like going Stamina + Electronics will be the way to go. As no point in being a glass cannon if your team needs to pick your ass up every 5 seconds.

Again, this was NOT indicative of my experience/thoughts at all.

I played the Division open beta as a singleplayer experience, and what i got was more like Deus Ex's RPG and skill system mixed with Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six gunfighting - i had to upgrade and deploy my skills and weapons intelligently during high pressure gunfights to survive and thwart the enemies, who were placed well and had generally good AI.

I never built towards a specific class/build and i never played co-op, and it was great as a singleplayer RPG.

I'm not an MMO or endgame or loot or online player - i'm interested in good moment-to-moment gameplay above all, so i'll probably be an unusual voce in this thread/OTs.

Well, the Thing is Tom, if you kinda min maxd your Equipment pretty well in the beta, stuff became quite easy. not like, crazy easy, but if you are a decent Player, you did it pretty well.
the Thing I like is that the AI has some damn rush happy enemies which you NEED in a cover shooter to not just sit there.
I can't Count the times they would throw a grenade at me and rush me from two sides.

the AI is quite fun in this.

Its not that hard.

1: Hide behind something so you dont get shot.
2: Put more rounds on target than they do to you.
3: And always make sure to keep your firearm well fed. Nothing worse than it going click when it should go bang.

Hardly call "well placed" AI is when the assholes can drop out of thin air around you depending if you are unlucky standing in / near a loc that just happens to be a spawn point. Which is what you can see on some occasions near EZs. I should be clear this is in referral to the "open world" part and not the pre-designed missions.

The AI for the most part seem to react generally the same, though Ubi did go and make them quite aggressive as they will constantly push up towards the player if you let off the pressure and make you pay for it.

Really wish that more devs would go for a bit more "dynamic" spawning in the sense that a said run on something will have various spawn points pre-set up. Game decides at random which to use. That way its not "wash and rinse" every single time due to the enemies being in the exact same spots over and over again. Helps prevent the marathoning through a level just because everything is memorized. Even more so considering this game is an RPG in the sense of doing a lot of runs on similar locations over and over again in order to collect loot.
