PlayStation Vue Goes Nationwide, Starting at $29.99 in New Markets

Whoaaaa gonna try this

Good time to be a cord cutter. I was recently looking at not being a cord cutter any longer and my cheapest cable package is $75/month.

Hope this sells really well and comes to Europe.

If it happens, I doubt it will be a service worth it. We have waaaaaay too many different national TV broadcasters here, licensing this and that in just one country. Just look at Netflix, just not worth the money at all in most countries.. :\

They were giving these out at PSX. The top tier service for $40/month for a year. I should probably use it since I'm in a beta market that starts at $40/month.

Wow this looks great. I currently have a similar streaming service through Charter which is the same $30 a month price for way less channels. Granted I do get HBO GO access as well though. However, there are a lot of channels that Vue offers that I don't get through Charter, some of which that I would really like to have. Thankfully my Charter streaming service has a no contract and cancel anytime policy, so it's no issue cancelling it and picking up Vue, which is what I plan to do.

How many people can use the account at the same time? Thinking about this ...might wanna split the cost with my bro if both of us can watch at the same time

PlayStation™Vue is available for use inside your home at the location you activated your subscription. This is called your “home” location, defined by the network IP address you used to sign into PlayStation™Vue for the first time.

You cannot use your credentials on a friend’s PlayStation device. Attempting to stream PlayStation™Vue outside of your “home” location can result in the blocking of service to your account.

With PlayStation™Vue Mobile on iOS devices, you can stream select channels outside the home, or stream directly to your TV via Google Chromecast. Please see the Supported Device FAQs for more information on PlayStation™Vue Mobile and PlayStation™Vue on Google Chromecast

should read up on the FAQ for other things

I believe it's IP locked or something to that effect. Though it supports 2 or 3 simulatneous streams from the same IP.

In the same house? One can be on PS4 and one can be on PS3 at the same time. No 2 PS4s or 2 PS3s. you can be on any Playstation device as well as another streaming device at the same time. Ex. Fire TV + PS4 or iPad + PS3 or Fire TV + iPad + PS4. I believe the limitation here is up to 5.

Just signed up for the 7 day trial.
I haven't had cable in yeaaars. Just browsed some channels on vue. Yeah TV isn't for me anymore. Even with 100 channels nothing good is on :/...yep "cable" isnt worth it.

This is pretty tempting. Even the SO is looking at it and not immediately saying NO, and she has been very anti-cord-cut.

I probably won't get this anytime as my parents have cable, so I have no need yet. However, there are still a few channels I'd like to see. Since the beta cities all seem to have regional sports networks (MASN, for me), I'm wondering if they will come to the "slim" cities at a later date like local broadcast networks will. The other channels I would also like to see NFL Network, MLB Network, and History Channel (and its variations).

Tried the free trial and it seems legit, but no Apple TV app and not allowing AirPlay makes this an automatic no go for me.

If they add either of those, I'd bite.

If they get the price to the same 29.99 in my market, I'll sub. Paying almost an extra 20 bucks for more or less the same package is bullshit. OTA is fucking free anyway.

I'm excited about this. I can get the networks OTA, so that doesn't bother me and this saves me about 50 bucks a month from Dish.

I know if you use a PS4 to stream PSVue, and a PS3 to stream PSVue, you can do both at the same time.

So can I stream on a 3rd TV with a Chromcast, and the 4th TV with a FireStick?

So, could I have PSVue streaming on 4 different TVs at the same time, as long as I am using 4 different devices? I already know you cannot stream to two PS4s or two PS3s at the same time. I just wonder if the Chromcast and Firestick each count as a separate device.

Still trash due to " ABC, FOX and NBC will offer video-on-demand (VOD)-only content."

If you're a sports fan like myself and have a hard time getting channels OTA due to reception of where you live than this is a non-starter.

Yeah. I know many people who want to cut the cord but can't because of their sports addictions. The fact that they would be cut off from live sporting events on the major networks makes this a non-starter for them. Yeah, they could put up an OTA antenna but then they'd still have to get a DVR for it. Besides, most of them would balk at putting up an antenna anyways due to either concerns over appearance or just plain laziness. From what I've gathered , the little indoor antennas don't work very well in this area, either.

Signed up for the core slim, this seems pretty awesome so far. Decent interface and the steaming quality is pretty solid. I'm mostly in for Giants and Warriors games and a decent way to watch Raw.

I have CBS and ABC with my OTA antenna, so this is perfect for me w/ ESPN and ESPN 2.

This just needs Roku support and I'll drop Sling in a heart beat. Just a few weeks ago, I paid for 3 months of Sling TV and got a heavily discounted Roku 3, so PSVue and Roku have that long to get their act together.

Hopefully I can get it. The website says the closest market to my area is Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Though I wonder why TeenNick is an Elite channel while all of the other Nick networks are in the basic and core? I want The Splat.

I'd save around $15 a month if I went with Elite over a cable bundle with my Internet.
