Elite Dangerous is kinda disappointing on Vive. :( I mean it looks great but for some reason that I can't point out it actually looks better on my DK2! WHY!?! =(

One thing that will generally always look better in a space game like Elite (with black backgrounds and bright objects in those) on DK2 than either CV1 or Vive are the Fresnel artifacts, or rather the lack of them on DK2.

Radial-G is fine

But F-Zero GX in VR is better
I prefer the cockpit view in Radial-G :p

Is there a way to turn Chaperone off entirely? No grid, no floor?

Use a Rift? =P Seriously though, I doubt they'd allow you to turn it off completely for safety and lawsuit reasons. Perhaps you could manually edit the chaperone bounds to be greater than the actual room.

You can turn off the grid with the "Developer" option in chaperon settings. The floor remains, though.

I finally decided to buy a VIVE and I ordered one - June is the month for the shipment. Have already written to customer to solve a strange thing I saw (shipping info in the invoice are not precise and I would like they use the complete address I put on order moment - they stripped away the firm name where they should deliver the vive). Anyone had the same problem?

Is anyone here using a space that has more than 15 feet from lighthouse to lighthouse. I have to move this to to my theater room as my study has way too many windows/reflections and my Vive looses it's mind in a certain corner of the room. I should be ok at about 18' if I use the the connection cables right. Was there some company or somewhere that did this?

I've seen multiple people say they had over 20' of distance between light houses, so you should be fine. This is without connection cables. I think with the cables you could go much further.

Not really. Best you can do is dev mode and no always on floor bounds + low colour.

You can also attempt to edit a larger play space then your furniture allows for... although if you're already at the limits of your room, that'll be difficult to achieve.

Indeed. The walls are coming down. Predictable though. One way or another it was going to happen, regardless of what the companies might want.
Will be interesting to see if Oculus takes steps specifically to break/block it. If so, it will shed light on how flimsy their excuses for SDK incompatibility were

So I'm trying to install Oculus Store and some software to test out the new Vive translator, and I've suddenly remembered that I can't install anything except to the C drive. So I follow Oculus' guide to symlinking on their official site, and it doesn't work. I can link two folders on separate drives, but when that happens, Oculus Home won't open anymore.

And the guide acknowledges that this could happen and says they are looking into it.

Jesus christ, they weren't ready for this launch at all.

Shit sym links aren't working? There has to be some DRM level stuff going on. They should be pretty much invisible to any application that just treats the file system normally. WTF is Oculus doing?

According to Luckey, they wont do anything against that. I could guess in a 1.4 SDK though it would be fixed.

And I am sure Palmer isnt the one calling the shots anymore.

ED is broken, fam. Don't worry about how it looks yet. If you need settings advice, I'm happy to help. But yea, until FDev fixes the implementation, it's gonna be kinda ugly.

The only thing I think they might do in the near term is make it so that Lucky's Tale is not just free by default by installing the Oculus app. To be fair it probably shouldn't be handled that way.

Superb. Was only a matter of time, but still, I'm impressed at the speed we're seeing it. And some people still don't understand why UWP will hurt PC gaming....

I've installed Occ Home, signed up and grabbed Lucky's Tale while it's still free, and installed it. The Revive ReadMe says you run it from the folder EXE. So can we then uninstall Occ Home and the game will still run?

Kind of makes sense as is. A free game is a good way to get people to install Oculus Home.

Wait Vive has support for Oculus Home now?

Also I would like to thank a very kind Lemonte for giving me his bundled Vive games code. I can't wait to play Job Simulator ;-;

Oh snap, the non-lucky's tale specific patch works with unity and UE4, not specifically dreamdeck. I have a Technolust code, gonna try it.

so heads up, every time you install something it seems you need to reenable outside sources (even if it's enabled) and reboot. I got the same "unknown sources" error with dreamdeck even though I had it enabled.

Were you able to get it working for Technolust? For Dreamdeck it says to put the injector into the win64 binaries folder but no such folder exists for Technolust, assuming just the front directory with the exe?

Douchebag. Yes, me.
Installing Oculus home now.

I was clicking around trying to get it to not install on C:

Then I remembered....

I currently don't have enough money in my account but if I preorder with my debit card, will it go through? Will it try to do a hold to see if I have enough money or will it be fine as long as I have the funds before it ships in June?
