"Right-sizing" is a word that instantly pisses me off whenever I read it. Knock off the corporate bullshit speak that people see right through.

A part of me thinks people will look back on this election in the future and think how in hell didn't Sanders win.

A large part of me though wants Hillary to be indicted. Honestly, she would already be in prison now if she was anybody but Hillary Clinton.

With climate change reaching its peak in the future, "incrementalism" will look like a very stupid idea indeed. I believe Bernie was the only candidate advocating emergency measures to be implemented imediately. But for now we have people mocking and jeering like this is some playful debate of inside baseball.

Taking emails off a government server?

THIS IS A FEDERAL CRIME. THIS SENDS ANYBODY TO JAIL FOR A DECADE WITH HUNDREDS UPON THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF FINES.

Jesus christ. It's the fucking law. The only reason they are dancing around it once again is because it's a rich and powerful person who has been caught.

If this was any normal person, they would be in jail, there would be no FBI dance around, they would be currently rotting in a prison cell.

I guess Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice are going to jail too

State Department: Powell, Rice staffers received classified info via personal email

Sanders can't fix climate change on his own

Maybe if he'd shown any effort or inclination in tangibly supporting other politicians who would also help with climate change he would have gotten my vote, since it is the single most important issue to me

But he didn't, and I never bought into the idea that as a lone figurehead he could make his college student supporters protest outside of government buildings until everything got fixed. There is no revolution. There never was. And that's what pisses me off. Because there could have been. If we'd gotten a candidate who was serious about political change instead of a grandstander

Those wonderful arguments. Because there isn't a current political trend of backlash to establishment candidates across the western world, leaning towards the far-right isn't there?

Oh wait. ooops.

If you think the rise of a Golden Dawn or National Front or whatever isn't possible in the United States, you're crazy. Everyone is noticing this reaction to the far-right. Hillary is not going to do anything to make people trust the establishment. If another financial crises hits during her presidency, things are going to go very bad.

I don't really bother with arguing against people who have a faulty basis for their positions.

You seem to think that people trusting the establishment is going to turn into some huge issue. *yawn*

Can't wait for the DNC convention. We can finally forget about Bernie.

This is assuming the ridiculous notion that accelerationism would actually do what it's intended to do. Hint: It won't. It will just stack the SCOTUS with more right leaning corporate friendly judges

He didn't win because all of the rigging. 126k+ people have their registration changed in New York's closed election. Bernie never under performs, so when he did in New York it shot off a bunch of red flags. We had a lawsuit to switch it to an open primary, but we lost that.

I'm young, but I've seen time and time again how the system is rigged to go against the will of the people. It all starts with recognizing these parties as private entities and then process of funding elections.

The Clintons have done more REAL work through their foundation towards solving climate change than Sanders has done his entire life. They are completely and 100% connected to the cause -- and it started 10 years ago with the CCI.

No, he lost because he's less popular in real life than on twitter, facebook and reddit.

It's not a hypothetical. Two former SoS (Condi Rice and Colin Powell) also had private email servers that received classified Intel.

Did they go to jail? Has that idea even been floated outside the context of questioning why HRC deserves to go to jail?

You say if it were anyone else they'd be in the slammer but the two people who did the job previously did the same and did not.

So now it's time for some critical thinking.

You don't think I know that retard?

Notice how I said "RICH AND POWERFUL PERSON"

This is just another case as the rich getting a free card that would send anybody else to Jail in an instant.

Fucking hell have any of you ever seen the fucking paper work you have to sign to get access too this stuff? NO, that's right, guess who has, guess who's had to deal with them, guess who has worked with this before.

jesus fucking christ.

If you think this isn't a serious issue and she isn't just getting off because shes hillary clinton, like rice and whatever got off because they are rich and powerful people, you are crazy.

SWIM had co workers have to go to court for taking a fucking SMARTPHONE into the building.

Bernie performs better when things are closed actually. His record with undemocratic caucuses is better than his record with open primaries.

Also Bernie never underperforms? What?

I swear it's babies first election for some of you people.

Bernie is the failed "populist" candidate we get at least 1 every cycle.

What generation are you in? Maybe you ought to recognize things are different. Your generation has failed this country, mine is fixing it.

This should be bannable by now. Or at least relegated to the conspiracy thread.

No, yours is staying home for the mid term elections just like all the previous ones did.

Alright, here's an exercise for the class; instead of saying "establishment," articulate your thoughts about what exactly it is and why you think it's bad.

I swear, that word is overused in this context to the point of meaninglessness

Hillary didn't steal anyone's emails off of anywhere.

It's almost like she took top secret emails of a secure Government server to a private server.

"Oh it's still my SECURE private server"

Yeah that's going to totally not land me in prison.

Alright, who turned on the /r/sandersforpresident filter

- yes pro choice, women's body her decision.
- yes equality for all. Marriage for all no matter of gender if you love someone.
- no to hate mongering
- up to country to decide immigration policy. I'm pro-migration in all forms. Human right to find better life for you and your family. Nobody has right to deny that.

So how do you jive those voting for Trump who has vowed to appoint SC justices who will strike down the Obergefell ruling? How do you feel OK voting for Trump when a large part of his campaign has been racist hate mongering? How do you feel about Trump's promise to deport millions of people out of America? How do you feel about Trump wanting to defund Planned Parenthood and supporting restricting abortion rights and access?

Hillary is on the left, not the center.

She also has a long, plentiful list of connections she could use.

On certain things certainly, not on others.

Coming off of the back of the financial collapse, that essentially crippled, rocked and fucked the entire world, and where fuck all has been done to actually change things or prevent them from happening again, Hillary on the Democratic side, is one of the people I have the least amount of faith to rectify the issues lending to it, and the economic corruption and fraud entailed. I'm also surprised people believe she's unwavered by all the financial incentives and profit she's received from big business, to me those things will have without doubt affected her partiality and ability to be as aggressive on any future proposals or policies. Her dealings with some of these organisations are the less obvious equivalent of buttering and bribes. I mean, in the same way I don't trust Republicans to be impartial on gun laws whilst they're taking speaking money from the NRA, I don't trust Hillary to throw down the hammer on big business and banks because she's been taking millions from them in a similar way.

Then there's the whole foreign policy and military angle. It's no secret that Hillary has a hawkish reputation, and this I think is the area she'll be most detrimental to basically the entire world. We saw how the Iraq war basically destabiled an entire region, and fucked things for everyone, essentially lending to a chain of events that allowed things like ISIS to evolve, as well as civil Wars, greater Shia Sunni divides, more immigration and everything else. I am confident Hillary will be responsible for continuing this recklessness and destruction, even her antics and lack of foresight in Libya point to as much.

So yea, on these particular issues, which are so incredibly important to me due to the wider geopolitical ramifications, she is not nearly left wing or progressive enough.

Bernie has underperformed plenty of times. In open primaries even (ie; South Carolina).

Didn't you know that he beat expectations of those -20 polls in South Carolina by losing by 50 instead? He never underperforms!

Aside from the fact that those lost people were in NYC, and thus by all statistics were more likely Hilary voters anyways. Or the fact that even if you miraculously gave Bernie all 126k, he's still 2-3 million behind in the popular vote for the democratic candidate now.

Ok, no desire to continue responding to you.

Says the people who are being on purpose completely and utterly obtuse.

"Taking classified information off a Government server to a unsecured private server is totally A-OK, nobody would ever go to prison for this ever, go hill dog, she did nothing wrong"

You are being fucking morons. This would land any other worker in prison. You do realize taking classified information off a government server is a FEDERAL CRIME right?

Isn't it possible that some of those 126k voters would have voted for Clinton and resulted in a similar ebding anyway? It's entirely possible that Clinton is just more popular than Sanders. She does well with older people who vote more and has a decent to good following in other large votingn demographics.

She wasn't in the same position as others and the two people in her same position immediately before her did the same thing. It's a crime for most but, for the first 15ish years of the decade it didn't seem to matter for the SoS.
