The one that I linked last week was the Google Play Deluxe Edition. But I don't see it listed in the store at all anymore.

Edit: Searching the Play store finds the album but it isn't free.

Unfortunately most of these cycle out every week.

It's best to sub to the thread and then just add the freebies as soon as you see them...even if it means you might end up with some unexpected country albums, as davepoobond discovered. ;)

Is it me or has Google cut way back on the free song/album of the day/week offerings on the Play store?

There used to be something about everytime I'd go to the store and check. Now the only thing that Google seems to be continuing is their monthly Antennae releases featuring new artists (which I think is great, btw).

Seems strange as it was usually the steady stream of freebies that kept me coming back to the store and sometimes deciding to purchase something else while I was there.

Edit: I have no interest in their subscription service. Seems like they are trying to push everyone towards that model based on the amount of screen real estate given to it in the Play app and on the web site.

It was actually only recently they started doing that deluge of free popular artists. Prior to that, it was occasional and mostly antennae.

Currently Available:

Wow, talk about timely! Thanks for the update.

So now I guess my question changes from the availability of them offering free content to "Why is it no longer showing up in my Play app or the web site?"

Maybe they have some algorithm that decides if it should show someone the free stuff or not and somehow I've gotten on the wrong side of that equation.
