Looks like a few more of the "very best of" playlists are Free right now, not sure if they've been mentioned already:
The Very Best of Europe
The Very Best of Miles Davis
The Very Best of Jessica Simpson
The Very Best of Ciara

A few more, sorry I can't link, I can't access the play store from my browser for whatever reason:

The very best of Toto
The very best of Meatloaf
the very best of Destiny's Child
the very best of 311
the very best of Billie Holiday
the very best of Britney Spears
the very best of Frank Sinatra
the very best of Sam Cooke

I know there is at least one more, but my phone gives a too many results requested error when I get too far down the list.

edit: worked out a few more

the very best of Nas
"" Roy Orbison
"" Tony Bennet
"" The Intruders
"" Billie Withers
"" Movie Songs of Elvis Presley
"" gospel of Elvis Presley
"" Three 6 Mafia
"" Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson
"" Gospel of Willie Nelson
"" Sly and the Family Stone
"" Johnny Cash

That's a lot of free music! There is probably more hiding under slightly different searches.

Damn, some amazing artists here.

I picked up all of these.

Thank you so much.

Disappointed that link didn't go to YouTube.
You have no idea how tempting it was.

I looked through the "free songs" search results. Some stuff is mind-bogglingly awful, but there's some decent to good stuff, too. What stood out to me:

Live @ Google series:
Tom Morello: The Nightwatchman: Live at Google. The solo act of that dude from Rage Against the Machine.
Matt Nathanson: Live at Google. Singer-songwriter folk-rock. You've probably heard his song "Come On Get Higher".
Martin Luther: Live at Google. Real good jazzy shit.
Nick Lowe: Live at Google. Old dude singing some folk.
Quadron: Live at Google Soul music sung by a lady.
Dumpstaphunk: Live at Google. Soul/funk.
Thao & Mirah: Live at Google. Folk with a variety of influences.
Crooked Fingers: Live at Google. Southern folk.
Meklit Hadero: Live at Google. Jazzy folk. Folky jazz.

Terrible Thrills, Vol. 2. A Bleachers cover album with songs Charli XCX, Sia, Carly Rae Jepsen, and others.
The Civil Wars Live At Sundance . County-folk singer-songwriter duo. Tracks don't have names, for some reason.
"Racer" by Giorgio Moroder. Electronic.
"Now and Forever" by (mixed by?) Tiësto. More electronic.
VeggieTales Christmas songs. Christmas songs. For kids. Sung by vegetables.
"Directoins" by Miles Davis. Way funkier than you might expect from Davis.
Brahms: Variations on a Theme by Haydn performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra. About as classical as it gets.
"The Great Gate of Kiev" composed by Mussorgsky, performed by Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Russian classical.
Amazon Jazz Sampler. Jazz. Mostly smooth.
"Lovecrimes" by The Afghan Whigs. Alt-rock.

some songs from Su-Preme. Ambient/electronica/hip-hop?
— also free are "Caballerial" and "Back"
"Slip" by Elliot Moss. Mellow indie synth.
"Mexico" by The Staves. Harmonious folk song. (same free song on a different album.)
Two Songs by Amusium. Catchy pop shit.
Now Hear This! - The Winners of the 14th Independent Music Awards. Wide variety of genres.
"Rider of Days" by Patty Griffin. County-Folk song.
NEW WEST and NORMALTOWN RECORDS Spring 2014 Music Sampler. Indie/Alt stuff.
"Zero Gravity" by Teddybears. Kinda catchy electronic.
"The Real You" by Black Lab. Pop rock. [nsfw album cover]
I Am Shark: Confessions Under Water, Vol. 3. (Mostly) punk compilation album.
Out There In The Dark - A Mexican Summer Compilation. Indie/alt stuff.
We Could be Free by The Alpine Treeline. Pretty decent pop punk.
several albums by Ben Kenney: 26 — Maduro — Distance And Comfort — Burn The Tapes. Rock by some guy with a nice voice.
"Gemini (feat. George Maple)" by What So Not. Electronica.
Mauro Sartorio's Greatest Hits. Slow, dreamy—at times New-Agey—electronic music.
Owl Time by kellee maize. Electronic pop hip-hop.
"Gold" by Wake Owl. Folk.
"Sister Rosa" by Christian McBride, a jazz bassist.
"London Bridge Is Falling Down" by Peter Bradley Adams. A folk version of the nursery rhyme.
"Ghosts in the Machine" by Anavae. Melodic rock.
"Eating Me Alive" by Miracles of Modern Science. Quirky indie rock.
Preoccupied and Another 12 Minutes by GoodYear. Ska punk.
"Brooklyn" by The Shaolin Afronauts. Smooth jazz funk.
The Song of Nephi and other religious oratorios from BYU-Idaho's Department of Music. Excellent vocal and orchestral work.

I edited your link a little so that you can see only the albums under the "Playlist" label. They are the ones that seem to be going free mostly.

Thanks! Waiting for that best of Joe Diffie to go on sale.

I have such a bad habit of getting these free albums for artists I don't even particularly like. My Google Play locker is getting full of the strangest combination of artists.

But, hell, keep it coming!

Luckily, songs purchased on Googl ePLay don't count towards your 50,000 song limit.

davepoobond

you can't put a price on sparks
This is insane! If you do the search, there are even more that went free that aren't listed on the slickdeals link.

holy crap, there are a lot. im already at like 10 extra ones and still finding more...

edit: god damn. i'm at upwards of 30+ albums right now.

This is nuts! Really loving the ability to get some older stuff I have always enjoyed on and off, such as Johnny Cash, Muddy Waters, Etta James, etc. So awesome

Those Playlist Best of albums were showing free this morning. But when I checked again this evening, the price is now $.99. Anyone else seeing this?

Unfortunately, that huge list of free albums are now popping up as 99 cents each. I thankfully downloaded a bunch for my mom in advance assuming she wouldn't have enough time to listen to them (she'd prefer to listen to every single track first before buying, even if the whole album is free and she could delete later). My partner was no so lucky with acquiring that TLC album, but 99 cents isn't bad at all.

Two new free albums.

Playlist: The Very Best of George Jones Duets

and

Playlist: The Very Best of Taylor Dayne
I'm not seeing Taylor Dayne.

EDIT: For some reason it's not showing up when search in the Google Music app.

I had to search for it manually through Google.
