It's not that bad on most sites I visit daily. To claim gaf is bad is hilarious. The homepage is barely anything, every other page is just 2 ads. I get it, some sites have shitty ads that take over. These sites need revenue to continue running though.

The ads have gotten worse on mobile. at the bottom of every page there's an ad that takes up damn near half the screen

I only use origin for blocking ads. I have it disabled on most sites I visit, however. Gaf, YouTube, dumbingofage.com and some others where the minuscule revenue my ad-watching generates for the site is the least I can do for free entertainment and communication tools.

Pretty sure I only keep it on so that when my parents go to their DIY sites and such, they don't click on all of those ads and stuff up the family PC.

Yup. I browse primarily on mobile and just ignore them. I'd rather ignore the ad and still enjoy neogaf existing, Y'know?

Disagree, previous smaller more "discreet" ads were triggering 25+ redirects/pop-ups if you accidentally touched them. I'll take enormous ads over predatory ads any day of the week.

try browing on mobile. when you auto scroll to the bottom it's a half screen ad. messes up your thread browsing flow (next page, last post).

And neogaf has the least intrusive ads you could ask for. I honestly forget they're even there.

If you like a site you should turn off Adblock and support them.

I suggested this in the other thread, I just think the ad should be above those buttons rather than below. That's really the only thing that's bothersome about it to me and it wouldn't compromise the visibility of the ad or anything.

Yeah, the ads on mobile are getting obnoxious. Huge ad at the bottom of every page, and just processing the ads makes my old ass S3 unresponsive for several seconds every time I open a page. Then there are the ads that redirect you, but I haven't had one of those in about 2 weeks.

GAF is the most user friendly site I vist when it comes to ads. Intrusive ads are rare and I've only had a few redirects in 15 years of browsing.
