Man Alsrich was easy and underwhelming for a story boss and for a guy with the title "devourer of gods".

The problem with Aldrich is getting bad RNG on his attacks. You'll get killed by his second stage arrow rain a lot if he does it. I won just as he started to do it and he actually killed me as I got a cutscene.

Yeah, I watched videos where people got lucky and he barely did it. It seemed he liked to spam it over and over and over in many of my fights. Still, if you stagger him you can interrupt him from ever really attacking.

I think soome of the bosses in the game should be patched to have stronger defense against staggering. Abyss Watchers and Aldritch especially. Well, it makes sense story-wise for Aldritch, but an Abyss Watchers fight where they won't stagger as easily would be pretty amazing.

Do the same for human enemies, please. They all stagger so easily. :(

DS2 had enemies with lots of poise and people bitched endlessly, lol.

It's true, although I don't mean for them to be like tanks, just a little tougher than they are currently. In particular A.W. because that fight is spectacular, but finishes so quickly when you figure out their weaknesses.

So after beating A
ldrich
, I decided to go back to the
Catacombs of Carthus as I heard there was a secret if you climbed down the bridge ladder. I didn't know it would be an entire area!

I beat the Old Demon King on my first try. Really easy boss. And then I went through the Demon Ruins and eventually turned off the arrow firing machine but there was no other bosses. Was that it? That's really underwhelming if so. I defeated the guy that was wearing Black Iron Tarkus' set. And I defeated Horace. I'm surprised he ended up being a bad guy. But is there anything else special about Smouldering Lake/Demon Ruins? Or have I pretty much seen everything there?

There are a number of important items down there but otherwise, you've seen everything. It should've had another boss, I think. Oh well.

A possibly stupid question regarding trophy hunting:
on my second playthrough right now (new char, not ng+) is it even possibly to get all masters of pyro/sorcery/miracle before ng+? Afraid if I start ng+ and have to farm covenant items requiered for trophys, maybe I'll be overleveled for invading for example?

It should be possible since you can join all of them in one play through. It's the other trophies where quest-line conflicts you won't be able.

I'm not saying give them a ton of poise, but as far as I can remember the human enemies stagger with every hit which just makes them boring to fight. Just hit them until your stamina runs out, retreat and repeat once you stamina has regenerated.

Looks like Kaldaien (who did the Tales fix and was working on a DS3 fix) has dropped his project due to some toxic steam community members.

Additionally, he has no plans to support any future Steam game as well.

Hi everyone,

Here again to shill my program I wrote that creates back ups of your DS III saves. Recently updated with more functionality if you want to check it out. Mainly the purpose I made it was to combat hackers.

(I lurk a lot on mobile when commuting/at work - rarely post on NeoGaf tho)

Just beat the game. Uhh, I think I might have missed something important. Underwhelming doesn't even begin to describe the ending I got.
There are 4 different endings, but all "Souls" endings are underwhelming. I was expecting more since this was supposedly a turning point.

Started this game back up again and I am playing a Dex melee/sorcery build instead of a heavy knight. Honestly, it is hard to feel bad about using the Estoc because it feels SO good to actually win at PVP for once.

Found a little DS2 throwback that I totally missed the first two times through playing the game. Remember that corpse that you get the "Stretch Out" gesture from in the tower next to the bonfire in the
Profaned Capital
? Well if you inspect the corpse you'll see it's actually
Laddersmith Gilligan from Dark Souls 2!
Can't believe it took me a few playthroughs to actually stop and spot that! Explains the
ladders
all over the tower!

I find it hilarious people complain about the estoc.
The vast majority on invaders / pvp players I see stack all points in Strength / Dex with a huge heavy weapon that can kill in 1 or 2 hits, hit at massive range and get ghost hits easily. Nothing worse than getting one shot by a ultrasword / bka when you are metres away.

Nice! I actually already started using it yesterday. Really eases my peace of mind when playing - and knowing that even if some hacker out there tries to ruin my game save, it'll be just fine. Thanks for making it!

Is there a guide or something on what to do after you beat the game besides NG+?

I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do other than PvP outside Pontiff's bonfire.

Aside from optional areas you may have missed, that's pretty much it.

Hopefully the DLC adds some more interesting PvP covenants, I miss bellbros and arena battles.

How long do you think it will be before there is a save editor/modifier? I play offline, so I'm not looking to make trouble in the PVP world, but if I could have a mod that gives me 1000000 souls so I don't have to begin the game again when I switch from PS4 to PC, that'd be awesome.

You can always just use the collector's edition, if you know what I mean.

LMAO

I invaded this group of 3 people all outfitted in the same gear in the GA who just kept lining up and dunking their head in the big wax pool on the first floor like a ritual..I joined them in that for a few minutes before finally stabbing one phantom in the back and killing him and then they offed me.

god I love this game.

Cheat Engine is your friend

The great machete refined is deceptively fast and powerful. Still requires a shitton of stamina to get more than 3 swings just like every other heavy weapon though, which is just about impossible on a buff build

Last I heard cheat engine has a working table that should work for you. Its also my understanding that as long as you don't give yourself impossible stats or create impossible weapons that you shouldn't get a softban. They're pretty forgiving about it either way. As long as you delete the offending save file once you get the message about an invalid save file immediately you won't be softbanned. It might be worth looking in to. This what I've read, but haven't tested it out myself. I'm contemplating trying to just give myself 99 Titanite slabs, because I really don't feel like running NG+7 to get a bunch. I might try it in a family sharing account first.

Fantastic. It'll be an easy playthrough first time through, but I'd rather that than have to deal with all the crap of grinding away for levels.

This is so unnecessary in this game. Just use Astora's Straight sword, upgrade it to Raw and level your Vigor to 27. Considering how powerful you can be by level 25, why lower yourself to cheat?

It doesn't really matter to me, since I don't go online. I like that people have a ton of fun in that space, but it doesn't look appealing to me at all. I have no interest in invading, and I don't like the idea of people coming into my game against my will. And I don't like seeing messages scattered all over the game world telling me what to do. The only thing I might do is find a Moundmakers player whose willing to die to me 10 times so I can get the Old Wolf Great Sword. But if the cheat table gives me those for free, that's not necessary.

I guess it'd be cool if I had some friend online that wanted me to join them in co-op, but most of my friends are FPS players and not interested in the Souls series.

Because I like my character being at the top of his game.

That's bascially the same reaction I got to bloodborne. I got to level, oh...200, I think, in my first playthrough. People were wondering why I'd do that. Well, I can't use all weapons if I don't level up in all attributes. I want to be able to use anything I want at any time. So your advise of "Just use Astora's Straight Sword" doesn't really apply here. What if I don't want to use astora's straight sword? What if I want to use a Rapier. And what if 10 minutes after that, I want to be a magic user? And what if I then want to be a Great Sword user?

Some people like playing on the lowest level they can. I like playing on the highest. It allows me the most freedom, gives me the knowledge that my character is as good as they can be. I like that much better than being forced to adopt compensating strategies because of limitations on my character.

Besides, I already beat the game legitimately. My PS4 character is sitting on a level of 154 iirc. I just want to use that to transfer all that over to my PC, so all my leveling doesn't go to waste.

you don't want messages giving you hints at what to do but using cheats for leveling is cool...okay?

whatever floats your boat I guess.

Catacombs are nicer this time around. But I died twice to that stair trap lol

As soon as I saw the skeletons with glowing eyes I thought "aw fuck, not that shit with the necromancers again!!" good to see they threw that horrible gimmick out of the window.

I'm actually surprised in that this is one of the few Souls games without it. Demon's had it, Dark 1 had it, Bloodborne had it. I don't remember if 2 had it or not. I actually expected it in the catacombs and was quite surprised when it didn't.

Again, I beat the game already.

I don't dislike the messages because they're helpful, I dislike them because they're glowy things on the ground that reminds me that other players have been through here. It disrupts the atmosphere on the world for me. A high level doesn't do that, as it's a stat. It's invisible.

And I might not have minded this if I didn't hate the Souls-death mechanic. But I really do, so, yeah, I have no issues doing what I need to to circumvent it.

Is there an easier way to get these proof of concord kept things? I'm bored as fuck. Or I'd there at least another ring besides the Darkmoon one that gives you two additional attunement slots? That's all I want.
