I guess anything can happen now.
Captain rainbow remaster coming as big holiday release and a new Ip about a love hotel managing sim.

See, Kimishima still cares about Nintendo Directs. Don't be surprised if we get another before E3 or near E3 for 3DS games.

Yeah I'd be very surprised if we don't get any in the next two months

How is it a mess? Nintendo's E3 plans have nothing to do with a Japanese Nintendo Direct for a third party title.
He's been super negative about Nintendo. I don't see what's the problem at all. Iwata did specific game directs too.

An direct for Culdcept only? Huh?

I seem to remember that a Culdcept a few years back was unusually succesful, in line with a well-targetted marketing campaign. I can see why they might think it worth having another punt on the game.

I wonder if they'll bring back the woman they had promoting it. Can't remember her character name, except that it was some riff on "Culdcept"

It's a first party published title, actually. Probably, Nintendo founds it as well. Anyway, I don't see why this is a mess. Nintendo's E3 is messy (even if I'm hyped as fuck to see more Zelda), not the fact they have a game-specific Direct.

...Actually, I think this is the first one in quite some time? What was the last one, both internationally and Japan only.

Oh. I didn't realise Nintendo published Culdcept. Now it makes more sense :p

Last game specific Direct was Pokémon in February

How is it a mess? Nintendo's E3 plans have nothing to do with a Japanese Nintendo Direct for a third party title.

They did public announcement of underwhelming and disappointing decision and plans from April '16 to march '17. Worldwide.
And the first official "normal PR" activity announced (I can tag it as positive, if you prefer) is for a very small, niche game, for Japan only (that even in Japan sells very few copies).
So, if I have to judge their PR/Marketing decisions, shouldn't I notice how their "disappointing" info were huge and worldwide and the first normal PR activity is such a small one?

Iwata also did Digital Event for E3, Directs for worldwide audiences and games, and released platform and games at an higher pace than what is happening from his death.

Speak for yourself. ANY kind of modern Culdcept in the west I have been waiting for. Most of all on 3DS.

Me too I'd like. But this is another JP only Culdcept/Direct.

Show some respect guys. Culdcept has a Smash trophy.

But is this series like a card game or something? And does Nintendo even own this IP? I am very confused.

I got into the first 3DS Culdcept a few months ago, and really loved it. No surprise though, it's a remake of Culdcept 2, the one we got in the west on PS2.

Pretty pumped for this one.

I barely heard of Culdcept before. What is this game and why is it so important that it deserves one whole direct dedicated to it? What is Nintendo thinking?

Thats not quite what were waiting for...

THE HELL IT ISNT!

I've waited 10 years to have another Culdcept proper sequel since Culdcept Saga released in 2006. Culdcept DS was a remaster of the saturn title and it was never localized, then Culdcept 3ds was never localized either after a tease that it was going to go to Europe. I finally broke down and am playing both on a japanese 3ds in japanese with card translations on my PHONE up as I play and I'm willing to do the same if it comes down to it for Culdcept Revolt.

I wanna know whats up with this announcement.
