Team Fortress 2 |OT4| Official Halo Thread of Polearms and High Fashion

So Tough Break is over. Any predictions for next update? My guess is this:

Pyro:
- Running speed reduced by 50%
- Cannot jump
- Health reduced to 1HP
- All weapons have been removed

Soldier
- Now has 600 health
- All shots are crits

I thought buying the pass is no more but the tough break drops continue for a few more months?

- Stats for Disguise Kit Changes: Spy can now fire the weapons of the people he's disguised as for that extra layer of realism
- All knives now have the fire vulnerability attribute of the Spycicle
- Knife stabs now instantly become backstabs.
- Backstab hitsound changed to "My favorite class is the Spy."

- Last hit sounds no longer consider the time of the previous hit sound
- Fixes the sound not playing if you damaged an enemy too close to landing the last hit
- Updated ctf_thundermountain
- Fixed being able to build on rocks outside of the fence by the capture points

Aww man. That's awful. I feel like this is going to be de facto method for griefers to just ruin people' days. Middle of an intense match, and boom someone drops, ruining the game. Let's hope Valve does something to combat people like this, blacklisting accounts or something else.

At least they all have phone numbers tied to them, so Valve can blacklist them during the beta.

Uncle Dane did a great video where he did experiments on when buildings can and can't be healed when redeployed. As far as I know this is basically something Valve has never talked about and has never been documented anywhere.
 
I tend to switch between the Buff Banner and the shotgun depending on how rekt I'm getting. I like the Banner more than the Shotgun though, because it's a killer support item and rockets doing 120-150 damage is amazing; one shotting most classes, destroying heavies and other tank like classes.

Nothing is banned in comp matchmaking.

It's going to be interesting to see what Valve does. There are certain items, like the Quick Fix that are more then fine in a 24 player random crit server, but OP in 6v6 matchmaking with no crits.

Matchmaking and normal pub play are so different I honestly don't know what Valve is going to do. I don't think they can properly balance some weapons for both just because TF2 just wasn't designed for small competitive games, it was always designed for larger pub games, not just in development of the game but the last 7 years of updates.

Then you also run into the issue of 6s being pretty different from what people typically play in pubs. Highlander comes closer to the pub experience but it has its own set of challenges and issues.

An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:

- Updated content and features for the TF2 Competitive Mode beta

- Added display of popular TF2 streams to the main menu

- Updated models/materials for the Heavy's Hockey Hair, The Gift Bringer, The Soviet Gentleman, and The All-Father

- Actually fixed the round timer not showing up in non-competitive games

Thank god they fixed the timer.

I never though I would see Territory Control added to quick play. I see a lot of newer TF2 players on Reddit whine about not ever getting to play Hydro, now they can experience how awful it is for themselves.

Also it's hard to believe they finally fixed DR spy bodies not looking normal.
 
Nice! Hydro is awesome. Shame everyone has terrible taste and ruined that game mode's potential.

I'll give it a week for everyone to realize why Hydro had stopped being played to begin with and all those servers can go back to being empty.

On a side note, WHERE ARE MUH WEAPON BALANCES?

Yeah Hydro is terrible. Having the stage reset after ever single capture is awful. I've been stuck in what I call "Hydro Hell" before where one team caps and point, then the other team caps the next stage so you go back to the last one, and you just get stuck in this horrible loop.

They just released a second update that added Medieval to the Alternative quick play list.

Fixed client crash related to custom HUDs
Fixed the Powdered Practitioner not using the correct Blue team material
Fixed seeing the Competitive Mode doors at the beginning of the round for Mann vs. Machine
Updated the Patriot Peak with a second style that will hide the Scout's headphones
Updated the Quickplay category for Alternative game modes to include Medieval maps

Also it's hilarious that the snipers on the winning Silver, Gold, and Plat HL teams were all VAC banned... UGC anticheat team, what're you doing lol.

Jesus christ was in a hell of a saxton hale match. First time I seen someone beat hale by rps 5 times in a row. Luck of the devil that stuff.
