Meh...
The problem with super good graphics and animations in Pokemon is that, after the first impression, all it really does it to make the battles slow and tedious.
Keeping it to perfect double strengths every time would greatly restrict starter options. They should not follow any pattern
No fucking clue how Fire/Ground would work for Litten
It would probably be based on a volcano theme.I like the idea I've seen that Popplio's evolution will focus on "ball-based" moves (what Bulletproof, Chesnaught's HA, resists) such as Focus Blast and Aura Sphere, tying into it possibly becoming Water/Fighting. Like a playful juggler/fighter, that'd be pretty rad.
No fucking clue how Fire/Ground would work for Litten---you know I actually considered Fennekin evolving into Fire/Ground early on, a literal "Desert Fox".

Some random over-enthusiastic youtuber made a video on it and said "I discovered this!" So it's totes official now.Someone posted the typings earlier and I don't think those belong to the starters.
Yeah the ordering of the typing comes up again. Ground wouldn't be before Fire if it was for Litten. So it has to be for Rowlett. I'm okay with Litten being Fire/Ground of course but now im wondering if it will just stay pure Fire next to the other two having dual typing.
Would be cool if litten stayed pure fire. Typhlosion is the only fire starter to stay pure fire...not that that proves anything of course.
Why do people seem so willing to accept that Rowlet would suddenly just lose it's Flying secondary type in favor of Ground? Just because it probably isn't meant for Litten doesn't mean it's meant for Rowlet either.
Honestly I've been having an idea looming about for a while. But why not make the starters... you know, suck? They could be useful for the first chapters in the game but after that the game should force you to abandon your starter in favor of other pokemon.
I know I'll be in an extreme minority but I would really like to see how that would shake up the formula for single player.

What's the point in making Rowlet Flying type if they're just going to take it away? Why not just leave it pure Grass?
Because IRL there is a type of owl that burrows in the ground, so that would be a neat concept for Rowlet to evolve into. Also another Grass/Ground type besides Torterra (the only one in existence) is long overdue.
Apparently the secondary types of Litten's and Popplio's evolved forms might've gotten leaked.

They'reandGroundrespectively.Fighting
And if Rowlet were pure grass, I'd be much more willing to accept that argument. It already has its secondary typing though, and I think it's extremely unlikely that it would be dropped.

So like Black and White? All the Starters there are weaker relatively.
You should play gen V because that's exactly what they did for that gen. So your idea has already been used. Those starters were best to be boxed at the earliest opportunity. Unless you kept Samurott around as an HM Slave, but that's its only use.
The Pokemon Yellow experience.

Well shit.. That's probably the only gen I skipped, I still hate gen V with a passion . But how did it effect the game overall? positively or negatively?
.

To apologize for the time they fucked over Surskit by making its evolution part-Flying.
Since first seeing Rowlett, I've been convinced they would change secondary typing. Ground would be interesting tho.
It's my favorite gen of pokemon overall soooooo. Seriously though, set battle Gen V is hella awesome. Do give it a try.
They're both bad, save for the few flashy backgrounds like Lysandre 3 and Wally.

Which is why I think it'd be dumb. Rowlet isn't even a Burrowing Owl, it's a Barn Owl.It is also quite novel that it even starts out as a dual-type in the first place, since that's only the second time it has happened in 20 years. The other instance dating back all the way to the beginning with Bulbasaur, and then never again until 20 years later.
Right, I forgot that Ice was the strongest and most used type right now and that one of the most-used Pokemon wasn't a fragile bird with 4x weakness that can be easily exploited through entry hazards.Rowlet getting a different secondary typing is the only thing that would make it usable so I hope it does for the Rowlet people out there
It'd be pretty funny if the next Pokémon to be revealed are Ground and Fighting, using the icons from the site.

wait.
Look at it this way.IAlso, at least in the past (Ninjask, Scizor, Steelix, Masquerain, etc.), those type changes came alongside significant physical change. Rowlet is probably not going to stop being an owl any time soon, so changing it to a ground type just because there's a type of owl that burrows underground, which Rowlet could very well not evolve into by the way, doesn't feel like that good of a reason to do it.
If Rowlet was pure Grass right now, it would be kinda weird, right? It's an owl. It can obviously fly. They didn't really have a choice but to give it the Flying sub-type.
