I'm not a big follower of the comics so I don't know much about it. Most of my knowledge of the character is from the games + films.

So are they gonna use rich peter parker? I wonder of there will be a cross over with other marvel heroes.

I imagine if this is successful it'll open the floodgates for other Marvel superhero games. I'd really like to see Black Panther, Captain America and Iron Man.

I rail on XBONE but man... If this is really as good as SM2 from the PS2/GCN era, everyone needs to play this. Still one of the best superhero (and movie) games of all time.

Sony are publishing it (and thus probably funding it) and I don't think their published games ever go to rival consoles? I certainly can't think of such an instance.

Might not have gotten made with how skittish Disney and Marvel are to really invest in big AAA games. They just killed Disney Infinity not that long ago and I thought that was doing great but I guess that bubble may be about to burst like the Rock Band/Guitar Hero one did years ago.

Yeah; I don't think this would have happened without Sony's involvement. I guess somehow this is linked to the deal with the Spider-Man films, as otherwise Sony doesn't have any link to Spidey or superhero games.

well.. look at it that way: I'd rather take one definitive/good exclusive Spidey game over loads of mediocre multi-plat titles that make you feel empty inside after 5 minutes of playtime.

Look at what happens when you task someone like Activision to publish Spidey games for you. Disney already confirmed they will not make games themselves but instead let others do the games for them with their input. We can be glad that it's SIE who picked a Spidey exclusive game up and not someone like Activision (or EA, I'm fairly certain EA would also run this into the ground big time).

If this is good and does well you can bet your ass on the fact that more publishers open up their wallets + give devs more freedom in exchange for top tier Marvel games. But yet again we had the Arkham games making bank the last few years and no other hero games lived up to that quality.


PSX is so far away, someone hold me.

That would be awesome. I'd probably just go all black, black suit spidey has always been my favourite in the comics, especially the Ultimate version. We'd also see some hideous creations (Dark Souls Character Creator Style) and colour combos... like a green and pink spidey swinging around.

I want a game where I have to juggle Peter's romantic interests, make choices about what social gatherings I can attend and not attend cuz of my Spider-Man responsiblities, I want the human supporting cast to be a major part of the game, I wanna pay rent, sell pictures to Jonah and get better shots than a rival photographer...I wanna do all that shit. That is the key to every great Spider-Man adaptation, from comics, to the Spectacular Spider-Man TV show, to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 1/2.

Im afraid this be just like every other Spider-Man game, where its just Spidey doing in-costume stuff. Which, ya know, cool, cuz hes got a dope costume(usually cuz this one is awful), great sense of humor, awesome power set...but you don't really GET Spider-Man until you get Peter Parker.

I'm getting more of an athletic inspiration from the suit. There's white on the bottom of his feet, kina makes me think it's like a rubber to help brace and absorb impact. The big white symbols also kinda remind me of a jersey. Anyway I like it seems like they put thought into it.

It is not timed. It's a full exclusive game, since it is published by SIE/Playstation.

It would not have been exclusive if Activision didn't mess up with the last three games. Marvel wanted quality titles based on their franchise. Even Deadpool was poorly received by critics, fans and gamers alike. Activision are the right people when you want games based on already established TV/Comics IPs.

Speaking of 'white spider', after Second Son: First Light (the only Infamous game I've wanted to play), I could totally see them doing a Spider Gwen game. There's probably no appeal in that though.

That's my thinking on things. They made a deal with Marvel to let them use him in the movies and no doubt part of that deal was to let Sony publish an exclusive game. Hopefully its awesome and a raging success and we get more AAA Spidey games in the future.

Man are you even a Spidey fan? People love the character because Peter Parker is Spiderman. His regular life being what it is is one of the reasons the character resonates with more people. Not too mention Spiderman/Persona would make an awesome combination as you have to juggle your daily routines with being Spidey. Get to class on time and improve your mental skills or stop that bank robber in a car chase with the police? That's one of the big elements of Spiderman and one I wanted to see worked into a game for a long time.
