Me. The foliage pop-in was very noticeable. Need this gem in the best state possible.

Actually, I noticed that seems to be already improved in the build they used on the last stream. The surface grass draw distance is massive and there's more of it on the ground. This is to be expected of course from a game with over 6 months left.

Quick and dirty comparison; Top-E3 demo, Bottom-Stream

Is this a call back to Enslaved: Odyssey to the West?

I had avoided news about this game because the name made it sound like a generic shooter, but now I'm intrigued.

This could be the game that convinces me to get a PS4 NEO... I went PC/Wii U this gen.

Anyway, I love the art design of this game. The character design - both the main character and robot NPCs - is just incredible. I'll be grabbing this if for nothing other than the visuals. Incredible achievement.

Those robo designs are so on point it's not funny.

If they don't include one in the collectors edition I'll be mad.

That, or have a high quality set available through Sideshow Collectibles or something. I need them on display.

I agree

though the colors in one of the gifs one scene(jungle area?) kinda looked like that artwork

The croc and the giraffe are the best designed bots in the game. They nailed the croc head to perfection. Not to mention the solar panels on the vertebrae......

I wonder if we're gonna get some sandworm bot in the desert area kinda of like Graboids that come out of the ground and go back down....would make for a cool fight.

How could actual history indicate a girl 1000 year in the future look like.
Aloy is bea, hope the character building is good, make her a memorable one.

I know she is a character 1000 years in the future, but that future is post apocalyptic with a reversion of society back to tribalism. What I was trying to say is that if historical tribal European hairstyles are anything to go by (in terms of what can be done with a person of her hair type), it fits with the hairstyles within that tribal history. Guerilla seems to have drawn from a mix of historical tribal styles.

Looks unvelievably good. This is going to make me buy a PS4. Prolly a Neo. Christ. It's just IQ sex for the eyes.

vegetation draw distance seems better (but vegetation seems different : more dense & colorfull)
but it can be because of the blurrier stream

So a lot of graphics talk. We get robots to ride and as buddys (like far cry?) And some other purposes...would be great when each robot has a diffrent benefit. What elese could there be. Maybe as a bait for predators. info from the giantbomb link die hard posted a few pages back...

How many years in the future is this set in?

1000.

The main background is:

The Fall

Man co-exists with robo-dinos for a long time.

About 20 years prior to the start of the game dinos start attacking humans deliberately. This is the corruption mentioned in the E3 demo. There's more background on a Twitch stream GG did.

Coincidentally this is also around the time Aloy is born...

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
God damn, I can't wait for this game. Looks fantastic.

What the shit is that?

In the Aloy's Journey trailer there's a clip where one of the power tattoo tribe is controlling a mech that resembles that.

It would tie in with Aloy's comment about the Corrupter in the E3 demo being 'ancient'. They're more insect lie, aggressive and clearly war machines rather than the more animal like robo-dinos.

Still not entirely sold on this game mostly because I have no respect for Guerilla Games when it comes to actual game design but goddamn this had one of the better showings at E3. Boggles the mind that people still get hype over just vague trailers that show nothing while the marketing for this game has shown off what at least looks like legitimate gameplay.

Game design should be fine, GG make great gameplay, narration is their weaker part.
Also, all hands on impression seems very possitive about the gameplay.

All of their games that I'm aware of feature the most bog standard cover based shooting. Their first game was basically broken and the 2nd featured really basic enemies, regen health, and input lag on your aiming that people thought added some kind of "weight" to things because they've never actually handled a gun before.

In general I despise regen health shooters because no matter how crazy the game seems it still just boils down you fighting the same kinds of enemies over and over while doing basically the exact same thing over and over. Pop out to shoot, get shot by gunfire you cant do too much to avoid, trudge back to cover, rinse repeat.

But hey this concept clearly has ideas, I'll give them that.

I love the way that the robots are animated. They look more "massive" because of the way each of the lurches forward... especially the crocodile.

I thought Witcher 3 was very good at conveying emotion through facial animations. I'm not sure where this idea is coming from that it was somehow lacking, the first I've ever heard such a thing.

If the emotion they're trying to convey is that Geralt is a fucking robot, then I guess you're right.

Heh, really this criticism would have worked on every non-Witcher NPC in The Witcher, but actully yeah, Geralt is supposed to be pretty robotic.

And... On that subject, Aloy may yet be a robot.

Also, I am slightly upset there's not individual armour pieces, just outfits. This is seeming more and more like a Zelda/Witcher game, than an RPG. Guess we'll have to wait for Skill Trees, but I really like being able to customise my character properly and I worry that this will be more of an open-world game than an RPG.

There has been numerous hands-on reviews singing it's praises. Colin from Kinda Funny is nerdgasming over the co told and he never does that.

I'd be in the dick
This game being set 1000 years after the fall of a planet in the Killzone-verse would be pretty great, even if they don't overtly reference all that stuff.

I'm just tired of people making connections where there likely aren't. It's like no one can put in an easter egg or just have similar design due from being from the same artists without a jump to a connected universe.

The further they distance themselves from Killzones offensively bad story the better...

I really wish they showed the village and NPCs with trading and all that. The earlier comparisons to FFXII world structure is one the sticking points that got me most excited about the game.

Their gameplay design was fine/good until the end levels where they usually fuck it up with waves and waves of enemies. I hope they have learned from that.

They gotta save stuff for other game shows too.
