Saying this as an American, but: Stay strong, EU.

I only hope that the people of the UK can somehow weather this storm without too much pain. I wish you all the best, and I hope it's all not as bad as it seems like it might be. Good luck

I live in Texas, and my fellow Texans mulled seceding from the Union, yet that measure never made it to a ballot. UK not only got it on a ballot, they voted to secede! Cheerio you brave chaps! Best of Luck!

That was a very small percentage, and plus secession is illegal. No president would allow the secession of a state.

Brexit is LITERALLY Hitler now?

Gaf, you never disappoint.
Please read what I actually said. Some of the right wing splinter groups in this country are actually fascists, and a Brexit will embolden them. If their grip tightens over the country and our political systems, we could see an infiltration of very, very bad people into legitimate positions of power.

Was getting caught part of your plan?

You have my condolences from across the Atlantic, UK GAF

That seems to me to be exactly what this vote was about, and with a result like this, it seems likely that more countries will want a return to nationalism and the EU may well collapse because of it. I'm really quite sad.

Yeah but at the same time you're equating that to a cessation of European cooperation. I think that will continue.

Devastating. So disappointed with my own country right now. The turkeys have well and truly voted for Christmas.

I just hope I'm proven wrong about the many facets of the shitstorm that will follow in the immediate aftermath and the next few years.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Remain failed by going on the defensive following Leave around vs actively showing to a majority of the population why staying would not only be better for the county as a whole but better for each individual at a macro level.

Sure some people who voted leave are outright racist. Others might not be outright, but it could appear to be that way due to economic tensions.

I still think this poster said it best...

See, there's a slight problem with telling people in perpetual economic insecurity that they'll face perpetual economic insecurity by voting for Brexit.

To many people in the remain camp failed to move the needle for many in the middle on a personal micro level with all of their macro global talk.

Instead people were left saying ok yeah but what's in it for ME if we stay? No sufficient answer came so they said fuck it #Leave

The dont give a fuck about Britain for all their patriotism around it.

Gibraltar? Fuck it - project fear
The Irish? Fuck it - project fear
The Scots? Fuck it - project fear

This has been a horrendously short sighted selfish vote. The political ramifications have not been discussed enough in this campaign and a lot of people just didnt care about it.
