Oh joy, I found a planet full of sentinels who upon losing all of their health do not actually die.

Neat.

Oh, and then I got one-shotted because apparently having health doesn't actually mean anything, and everything's determined by your shields. Yaaaaay

You gotta locate dem suit upgrades

Doesn't uncorner jetpack tho. All rows grow downwards and to the right with jetpack being further most up-left corner.

That is how mine is as well. The strange thing is i just got a blueprint for the jetpack even though you cannot dismantle it.

I have gotten blueprint for ALL core suit and ship components yet I can't dismantle any of them. I guess game at some point allowed you to dismantle them for easier slot management, but feature got scrapped very close to gold copy lock.

I build Warp Engine Theta, but game doesn't let me travel to systems that requires it. Tells me that I need build Warp Engine Theta. Anyone else encountered this and what gives?

Have the issue with some systems too. I usually can skip that system and move to the next.
Some systems tell me, that I need the sigma upgrade, which is much weaker than the Theta.

So only some Theta systems bug like that? Need look around more then, but I would love to see those systems. Allegedly those are the ones with coolest and rarest shit.

we should be able to sell our old ship

if I buy a ship for 17 million credits and the next ship costs 66 million credits I should at least get a trade in deal for the 17 million ship

this should be a feature, no brainer really

I just assumed the price you see being asked factors in the trade-in value of your current ship.

A little fluff between the ears never did any harm...

You're buying it off some random person on a landing pad. They don't want your busted old ship either. They just want their 66 million.

Game's broke as hell for me today. Can't kill sentinels. Can't scan any plants. Can't loot most stuff. A lot of lootables aren't displaying what they actually are, like the platinum I just picked up never said it was platinum.

Dunno what happened. Not even on the experimental branch. Dunno if this planet's just broken or something.

Restarting the game didn't fix the issue. That's it. I'm done. Game's broke.

How is that alien going to get anywhere now that they don't have a ship? What happens to our old ship? How did these aliens acquire these improved ships in the first place? Why is there no way to just level the ships and multitools up like we can with our exosuit? It sure would solve a lot of issues the game has with transferring everything over and basically losing all your upgrades in the process. Makes upgrading seem not worthwhile until you have max inventory for that specific thing.

And that's disregarding the fact that when transferring to a new multitool, you can't dissemble anything in the comparison screen like you can with ships.

Maybe this explains the random solitary aliens in buildings -- they get Unit signs in their eyes when you take them up on buying their overpriced ship, and then realize after the sale that they're now stuck on a planet with no ship.

Try to find an outpost with a landing pad. If you craft a bypass chip you can call your ship to it, which should fix the glitch you're experiencing.

Yeah it's annoying; I honestly avoid using the higher-end blueprints I have because I don't want to have to re-grind for them. Be sure to at least break down your current upgrades before you switch multitools though, so at least you get some of the raw materials back.

I actually just tried that now and it made the next multitool have terrible upgrades. Like, going from what I had fully upgraded to one with more slots had better upgrades, I back out and dismantle mine, go back to buy the new one and it has completely different and worse upgrades.

Game crash nearly gave me a heart attack today.

Was just finished scrapping a ship and headed back to claim my old ship when the game crashed. Reloaded and the only thing there was the new busted ship. Freaked out, reloaded and went to the next-to-last save. Still, only thing there was the new crashed ship.

Going crazy, thinking I just lost all of my stuff when I realize the inventory matches that of my old ship, and that nothing is broken. Somehow in the shuffle the crashed ship swapped appearances with my old ship. I guess everything is okay and I like the looks of the new one better but I could really do without crashes every 30 minutes.

Also, tried putting some thought into where I was going to jump next but all the systems between here and there were G class. There was a green E class slightly off course but wasn't letting me go that way until I had a Tau installed.

can't tell if desert or just sand-colored rocks but eh i'll take it

My bf's game has an interesting glitch.

He wanted to see if the pre-order bonus ship, "Alpha Vector", would replace or leave his old ship "abandoned" like when buying a new one. So, while in a space station, he redeemed it and because the dlc ship replaced his current one, he reloaded immediately. The game sorta reloaded... Reloading the previous save restored the previous number of slots (21) to his ship but it kept the name and appearance of the pre-order ship. Even after quitting and reloading the game, it's still like that, so it seems to be permanent. Might be a good trick to try out for those who like the looks of the pre-order ship, but want more space.

Meanwhile, I mined a hole in the fabric of spacetime.

After opting in to the experimental update today, I'm now getting blueprints for things you can't not have. I got one for Hazard Protection, Life Support, and Launch Thrusters. No, they're not upgrades, these blueprints are for the base component (which you start the game with). Maybe a weird bug, or signs of things to come?

I've gotten those the past couple of days on PS4.

Also, had a Death Stranding moment. That was wierd, hopefully things continue to get weirder.

24 hours in, one Atlas Stone. I feel like I'm either not doing something right or I just have really bad luck.
The game moves at your own pace, what do you feel is keeping you from getting them faster?

I'm about 25 hours in, about to jump to my 3rd system, and don't have any Atlas Stones (whatever those are, I don't want to know). I assume the game will show them to me eventually, I'm not that worried. All the locked doors requiring Atlas passes are a bit frustrating though.

Is that a blue sky? I've been looking for a blue sky forever. Send me coordinates so I can invade your planet.

Are there coordinates in this game? Because that's the biggest thing on my wishlist right now.

Hm, interesting. I assume it was related to my being on the experimental update, since I hadn't gotten a blueprint like that in my 30 hours of the game until today, when I got 3 in 1 hour.

Same thing happened to me last night on PS4. I got several basic blueprints all one after another.

How's a planet with 103 ºC in a normal day and 283 ºC during storms no extreme conditions that counts towards the survival achievement?

I really don't know how this works, in 40hs of gameplay the only time that I had an advance was in a cold moon with threatening sentinels, I lean to believe that pissed sentinels is a requirement for the survival achievement and even then it only counted 0.8 sols before the game crashed and then it stopped counting until I decided to leave.

-_-

Edit: Dismiss, Started counting. ^^

lol, warped into a system where there was a distress signal... 8 minutes away from where I am if I'm using the B-activated boost, and the game won't let me boost using both triggers because of the distress signal.

What the hell. I'm not flying 8 minutes for a distress signal.

Go up into space and go from there. Takes way less time.

I have 33 Slot Ship if I go look at another ship with the same slots I do not see a discount

thats okay I'll dismantle all of the parts before buying new :3

blue system. every planet's got some nice blue skies. there's another planet here with a red ocean. it's pretty neat.

this planet in particular is making me realize just how terrible the pop-in is while flying around. it's really distracting :(

Hah I did a similar thing yesterday via grenades and ambitious 'cave making'. Did you walk through it? I did and fell down into an ocean underneath all those 'land tubes'.

Yeah, I accidently fell in while trying to get out of the hole I'd dug, and I fell into invisible water, too. I was able to get out though by jetpacking and blasting the ground with grenades.

Got to the distress signal and because space combat is shitty I accidentally hit one of the massive freighters, so now they're attacking me.

"Oh, hey player, go destroy 25 star ships and somehow manage to avoid letting a single laser hit one of these massive objects, otherwise they'll start shooting you as well despite the fact that you're there to save them!"

Fuck off, they even show up as green on your radar indicating that a friendly is trying to kill you.

And why is it next to impossible to engage the starships in combat? They show up as white when you arrive, and you have to get lucky and hit one without the auto targeting in order for them to show up as an enemy.

Yup, had the same problem last night. Saved them from the pirates and then Sentinels destroyed me. "No good deed goes unpunished"

I'm not sure how this made it through 3 years of development without Sean saying, "you know maybe we should ignore friendly fire while you're saving their ass".

Wanted to confirm something regarding seeing
black holes via free exploration mode.
Currently I can't see them/the outline in free exploration, it's cause I didn't follow the stupid Atlus path isn't it?

So, black holes are straight up not worth it, right?
unless there's a full proof way to protect my ships parts from potentially breaking, I may as well be warping straight for the center. The distance trade off is totally random, and repairing ship parts takes a lot of scrounging.

Well, since the experimental PC branch has greatly improved the game's performance on my rig, I spent 4-5 straight hours without even noticing, and mostly on just one planet, so I feel like I can finally "re-join" this topic since I've finally managed to start playing. :) Also noticed a blinking X around a somewhat nearby star on the galactic map, turns out it's another player so now I'm seeing 3 or 4 of his discovered systems in my list (his are with a yellow circle).

Anyway, I'm having plenty of fun so far, although I feel the game continuously tries to keep me from exploring and orienting myself as I see fit, instead forcing me to aimlessly jump from one POI to another. I even had a couple of situations (on the same planet) where some of those beacons that require Bypass Chips led me to locations I've already discovered. I mean, I kinda get it, they're there to find the nearest POIs from the list, and it's not that I'm bothered by a wasted Bypass Chip, it's just that I would've easily known that was the same location I already discovered if I had just a little bit more control over my orientation. I'm sure lots of people have mentioned this before, but the game would benefit a lot from a planetary map (or at least a compass and a large number of permanent numbered markers that are easily placeable and removable) as well as a star system map (or at least a full list of planets in the system, so we can target them or something, instead of not noticing that one planet that was, at the moment, behind the one you're on now), and better orientation and controls on the galactic map wouldn't hurt.

Not to sound all negative, there's plenty I like about the game, and I feel reasonably hooked so far, just hoping they might be willing to make some drastic changes to certain gameplay elements, to at least make the fundamental mechanics (like in atmosphere flight and the whole orientation thing) feel somewhat better.

Pretty much how I feel about it. Once you have a Tau or higher warpdrive, it seems to make more sense to just warp on your own.

Last animal to scan is a Fing bird, taking over an hour to see them again. Obnoxious!!
I'd been avoiding killing any non-aggressive wildlife entirely but I shot down a bird to scan it for a completion. Two sentinels swooped in out of nowhere to look at the corpse and then turned to me as I stood there. Felt bad, but from a gameplay perspective I got the instant karma I deserved. Karma = free titanium, clearly, though I feel bad I killed a random thing.
