New Zelda Breath of the WIld Weapons Gameplay video

Graphics are really fucking impressive. As are the physics and draw distances. Love the slow-mo as well. Can't believe this is being achieved on the Wii U.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Usually I'm all in getting hyped for Zelda but I missed the E3 demonstration of Breath of the Wild and it seemed so massive I never got around to watching it, sort of thinking about going on a blackout for once in my life...

Gonna check this out though because I don't want to be totally in the dark.

While cool, we're talking about these in the main BotW thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1233427

We've had a thread on the other facebook/twitter clips the other day, we don't really need one for every one of them. None of these are actually "new" since they are all from the E3 build and just repackage stuff we've already seen in these short montages.

Is that a wand at the end?

It's the fire rod seen in countless videos and gifs^^

Or is it??? O.0

NX

This is footage from the E3 Wii U build.

I don't think any of the weapon movesets on their own are really enough to sustain the whole game. Really, I think they want to have the player explore their entire arsenal, otherwise the melee just looks too basic unless you're actively changing movesets throughout the game which durability is what's trying to get you to do.

Though, the Shockwave from the jump attack is rather clever when you combine it with the Ice Pillars, in shallow water you could combine the two for some neat and safe crowd control.

Not everyone keeps up with the minutia of the game. Chill.

I think going media blackout is an awesome idea for this game. But I guess just watching this short video won't hurt.

Personally, I'm done with seeing anymore. I'm sold and want the rest of the game to remain a mystery.

I like the look of the combat, but I hope it actually has some challenge to it. Most of the time in 3D Zelda the combat feels good and works well, but the enemies are far too easy so it never really reaches it's full potential.

If the e3 demo is representative of the rest of the game this will be the hardest Zelda game since Zelda 1 and II

What stood out about the demo that's particularly challenging? (in regard to combat) I watched a fair bit of it, but don't remember anything in particular, haha.

The combat looks really good. The hitboxes and the area of impact in the great sword segment are really nice. The AI as seen in other gifs also looks pretty fun to mess with

despite being the starting area there were many enemies that can kill you in a shot or two.

While I appreciate more BotW info, I have a bad feeling all these videos are being accidentally taken as buildup for something that doesn't exist.

I don't think the game will be that difficult overall, but enemies do hit hard when they light their weapons on fire or have swords, so you do have to play well otherwise, it'll take a hit on your supplies. Some enemies can one shot you which is a bit odd for the opening area. Only Nintendo knows what's outside the opening area though so there could be some other difficult enemy that we don't know about.

This is what worries me at the moment. New weapon system is all well and good but... Slightly worried it'll end up a sticker star type situation where it's more advantageous just to avoid the fights entirely.

That, and I'm still not sold on the Zelda teams ability to make an interesting overworld after it in my opinion being the worst parts of at least ww, tp and ss. Xenoblade X being a big disappointment for me on that front has me sceptical.

you find it in chests. it's just a regular weapon like all the others in the E3 demo.

How did I miss this during E3!?! I thought I watched all the treehouse footage. I'm appropriately getting fire rodded in thread for missing it.

NX announcements can't come soon enough.

That's nice to know.

I think Nintendo are actually fairly good at handling difficulty. The game should be still accessible for players, maybe a sort of Ocarina of Time level base difficulty, not too hard, but not insultingly easy. Then have some optional areas or challenges for experienced players that will really test you. That fits into Nintendo's design philosophy.

I'm thinking the same thing if there's no real challenge the whole new weapon and armour system becomes pretty pointless.

The implication that high level enemies can one shot you quite easily or two shot you quite easily. Let alone higher level foes. A bit offtopic, best Link design since Wind Waker

This is somehow exactly what i've always wanted Link to look like.
