Awww yes first purple engram I got decrypted to the ATS/8 Arachnid helmet which is probably whatever BUT I didn't have it so that's rad, and it rolled pretty good Int/Disc. I'm actually surprised that r/Destiny doesn't have subreddits for specific classes like a lot of class/loot game reddits do, was going to look at suggestions for Hunter gear, but for PvE it seems like it probably doesn't even matter that much out of specific situations (aka Nighthawk for bosses, Don't Touch Me for CE etc).

I really really hate how rusty I am on this game and how much I've forgotten. Glad I'm jumping back in now before RoI hits so I'll be back up to speed when that hits.

You know, after obliterating players with the GoM with counterbalance and braced frame lately, I wouldn't be surprised to see either of those perks nerfed in the next patch. The amount of auto aim makes 3 shot kills fairly easy on players with predictable movement, and the stability it provides even makes the gun decent for longer range kills, despite being outside the intended range.

There's a lot of debate about the best Crucible primary. I've seen some youtubers saying it's Hawksaw/PDX, some say Grasp. I started with Hawksaw, and it's definitely the most stable, but the RoF of Grasp and its clean-line recoil + Headhunter perk make it #1 for me, at least among pulses. Though I kinda want a PDX just for the colour scheme, it matches my favourite shader (Cryptographic).

Can we just stop talking about Grasp until I can finally get one? kthx

high light level usually doesn't have anything to do with being a tryhard. On the contrary, the real try hards pull out year 1 weapons and therefore have a lower light level.

LL doesn't matter a whit except for IB/Trials. Grimoire score is probably a better indication of how much Destiny they've played. What playlist? They don't all have SBMM.

If you play smart, you can do just as well with the vendor Hawksaw. In fact it's a little more forgiving since you don't need as many headshots to kill, much easier to land a 3 shot kill than with a GoM.

This game's randomly given me both the Year 1 & Year 2 versions of Suros Regime...it continues to be the worst Exotic weapon I've used, up there with Dreg's Promise. I'm trying for that get-6-kills-with-auto rifle quest and legit struggling. I'm going back to Grim Citizen III.

The correlation coefficients in Figure 1 are ... * Control: 0.68 * Clash: 0.67 * Elimination: 0.01 * Trials: 0.24 The absence of correlation for Elimination can not be explained by the selection effect that you mention. Even if only stronger players enter that mode, some of them are stronger than others in terms of combat rating (the variation of team combat rating in the Figure is evidence for this). If there were some sort of matchmaking based on combat rating, the points should form an ellipsoid and not a circle.

So Control and Clash have equal SBMM, Elimination has zero SBMM, and Trials has a little, but probably as a result of the passage card MM, which is a different sort of SBMM.
