I don't think delaying the game would do much. Its going to be trounced by FFXV or whatever game is out.

I for one will get it at release no matter the date or what game will be against for.

If they delay it because of FFXV, then they would have to delay it like april or may or something, well out of the way of Persona 5 (and Horizon Zero Dawn perhaps?). Shame really, because I know I want it, but I want FFXV a little bit more, so I have decided to wait on the game.Would have been day one if FFXV hadn't been delayed.

There will always be "that game", you could be delaying the game almost a year for some few extra sales.

I want both but for me GR2 is the perfect game for playing during December.

The artwork in this game is amazing. Environments, flights, characters all look great. I hope the issues with frame rates are fixed. Going to get this Day 1 for support but I will probably play FF XV first.

True, but some big games have a bigger impact on GR2's sales than other big games. I'd say FFXV and Persona 5 and the biggest threats at the moment for GR2: putting GR2 against a game like Doom would imo definitely have less of an impact on GR2's sales than when put against FFXV or Persona 5.

Those shots look great, cannot wait to play this.
Such a shame EU/NA aren't getting collector's edition again.

apparently is the last game.
i just hope they brake even and can see another projects from them

sony for fuck sake advertise this game

Confirmed to be the last Gravity Rush? I know that people want Project Siren to go back to their horror roots but I love their fun and unique world design and would love to see more.

I do have a bad feeling about the team if the game doesn't sell though. Now that Sony headquarters is in America now, Japan Studio isn't as protected anymore.

The Japanese subtitle mean conclusion of Kat story.
This should be the last GR.

They haven't really said that this is the last GR game. They've just said that when they first conceived the story for Kat they decided to split it, which meant GR1 was part of the story and GR2 would be the other part. But there's nothing stopping them from continuing Kat's story or using another character in the world.

True. It's an end of a chapter for Kat.
Maybe we'll get another one on PS5, Toyama seems ready to move on at the moment.

My bad. But even that's too long for it IMO, it kind of slowed the conference's pacing.

Perhaps they had a marketing deal that they had to show this two and a half minute trailer at E3? Either way, there is no reason I can think of not to sneak Gravity Rush 2 in somewhere and prolong the show for one and a half minute except not caring one bit about the game. Shame on SIEA (and SIE as a whole probably) for that.

Advertising the game won't do it any good either. If people didn't buy quantum break. No way in hell they would even lift an eyebrow at gravity Rush 2. Probably never even heard of the original.

Does not follow...Also, I think more people could be open to something like this given appropriate marketing. The game has a done of charm...Personally I think the art style is beyond anime cliche, but over and above that, this is a game which defies pigeon holing in many senses of the word.

I think what people will notice first when playing like I did is the technical upgrade. The colours, details and the way Kat's hair moves in the wind is immediately noticeable. Can't wait for December.

True, Gravity Rush is a bit between genres imo: not quite JRPG, but not quite western platformer style either. This game is really one that would need exposure to show people its contents and to reach its own audience, I think. That's why it's a shame they refuse to show it at their most public event (let's be honest: TGS and PGW don't have an audience (not even combined) nearly as big as E3). Could bring in some people ignorant about the game, either about its entire existence or about what type of game it is.

I think his point is that if something that ordinary and where the mass market appeal is more easily visible just from the box managed to tank in sales, despite pretty heavy marketing, GR2 is not going to reach any more substantial of an audience regardless of what marketing is pushed on it.

Visually, the game is the opposite of any million plus seller I can think of (apart from Ni No Kuni and established IP like Dragonball Z), not to mention that it stars a very feminine female character (not just a tomboy like many female protagonists we see).

I think they could find success if it's marketed towards a younger and female audience, but I suppose Sony just isn't willing to bank on that.

Don't get me wrong I love gravity Rush, I Platted both versions and can't wait for this one. But expecting it to sell well even on a decent marketing budget isn't ever gonna happen. The best it could hope for is cult classic status. Coming out at Christmas may give it a bit of a boost but I doubt Sony would even bother to bundle it. The game just doesn't have much appeal outside of gaming forums. I want to be wrong but I know I'm not.
The game is basically being made for fans of the first one. My mind was blown when a sequel was even announced.

I forgot Yakuza 6 release on December 8...GR2 is so going to bomb!
SIE seriously need to change the release date. Fuck my wallet sideways.

I'm buying this day one even though FFXV will probably get priority for play time.

Pretty sure this will bomb, but I will show my support. Move it to January Sony. Only Resident Evil 7 is a big release that month.

Here's a different angle of Kat's casual Banga outfit.

and fun episode screen art.
They show an extended version of Angel's character intro and an entirely new masked Raven intro sequence.

It's good they made the targets clearer boxes, indicating you can fly/fall through them as well.

I'm really curious how much of *Hekseville's in the game.

*If you haven't played Gravity Rush yet, it's the first game's city setting, split into four districts surrounding the world pillar and it's beneath the Sky Kingdom which have great importance to Kat's origin.

The first concept art's interesting because Kat doesn't have Dusty (her Gravity Cat) yet at the start of Gravity Rush.
