Not my picture. Didn't Tabata say Nyx will be in FFXV in 'some form'?

They actually said
Nyx would not be in FFXV which is why we all figured he would die in Kingsglaive

Yeah ok. That leak was right about everything else but this particular detail? Give me a break.

What do you mean? I'm talking the one that got all the Gamescom details correct (other than the trailer, which was delayed most likely). He confirmed most of the same leaks but denied that part. What's there to get upset about?

The 4chan leak described the prologue sequence as-is months before it was shown to the public. Just a lucky guess? Any posterior leaks really don't matter.

Why? He confirmed the online expansion exactly as well. He confirmed the designs that the four guys would have before we could even see them.

It's just as valid as the other one, and I'd say even more so since he adds more info and explains already leaked info with more detail that we heard about weeks later.

Tabata has said the leaks are not accurate so who knows. If the leaks were legit, perhaps the leaker only played chapters 1-3. His/her leak about at the towns already appears false.

Spoiler tags for images are (still kinda) funky on mobile.

You noobs

Anyway I could fix that to be more mobile friendly, Falk?

Huh. Well that would certainly be an interesting twist if it turns out to be true.
It's been quite some time since I watched the movie, but I don't recall anybody else using fire magic? Could be something. And does anybody remember what exactly the Lucii's words to Nyx were regarding him dying by the morning? Cause if it was something like forfeiting his life, it could be that they meant he'll forfeit his life as Nyx and become something else?
I'm totally grasping at straws here, aren't I?

My opinion is that most of the shit in Kingsglaive will be disregarded. The big deal in FFXV is running around the world looking for magical swords, not trying to get some silly ring, which has never been ever mentioned in a single trailer.

It just sounds like damage control, and I don't remember anyone describing what the crew looked like in the prologue, other than maybe Noctis having long hair, which people could see in the AfroJack trailer anyway.

Well, you haven't read those leaks then. And what's the damage control by that leaker by providing information that was 100% accurate? Just because he's more positive about the game doesn't make him invalid.

And an entire weapon slot is tied around using the ring. We know it's been a big deal since Versus, but we didn't see much of it because we saw (and still keep seeing) the opening area stuff over and over again. It likely won't be a game changer but it's not irrelevant. It's tied to the plot and gameplay.

And Noctis literally wears the ring as the final scene in their biggest trailer.

Anyway, this isn't a big deal at all. There's nothing to defend here really. It only means that the identity of a boss is unconfirmed as of yet.

Bleh. Just watched the movie some days ago.TT What a boring movie. The CG especially in many of the battle just go whussh and bam while having that shaky camera.

The art also is really different from the game which make it harder for my head to process. Lets hope that this movie story is not going to lead to the game here.

So.

There are bad movies.

And then there are movies made by people that don't know how to make movies. Kingsglaive is just a complete mess to me. The editing is incomprehensible, not a single scene flows to the next one. The director abuses the use of fade-to-black time and time again to hide the fact that he has no fucking clue how to make a proper transition. Visually I had no fucking clue what was going on most of the time, attempting to follow the action is an effort in futility. It's shit. There's not much else to say. When it comes to direction, editing and composition this movie fails completely at everything it tries to do. It's the equivalent of giving a complete amateur a CGI studio and a few million dollars to make a movie. That's what it looks like.

The plot is half-baked nonsense if I'm being generous. Some people have said that despite recognizing its awfulness, Kingsglaive somehow makes them hype for the game. Man, it had the complete opposite effect on me. I hope this movie's "story" and "lore" isn't indicative of what to expect in FFXV. Oh and King Lucis is a massive asshole. Is this supposed to be a good guy? Not a single character worth anything, and voice acting was dreadful across the board.

Yeah, this was a huge waste of time for me and for everyone involved. I would rather have seen more Brotherhood episodes made with this money, those are actually fun.

I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow I think.

Ah well all right. Since they don't really bring it up I thought it wasn't even part of the game.

Damn. Could've sworn I read somewhere that Nozue directed that. Now I'm not sure why he's such a big deal, lol.

Well, Square Enix makes beautiful CG and he's listed as a Director or has some heavy level involvement in a lot of them.

But that may not translate well to a movie.

Well that was something. Hard to follow action sequences. Too much Bamft! And the voice acting for a lot of the supporting cast was pretty bad. Visuals were nice but damn the animation like turned super janky at some points. It does hype you up for the game though as I want to see how the story plays out.

As a side not, enjoyed the brotherhood episodes a lot more because they felt like slice of life to me lol

I assume that will get expanded upon in the game, based solely in them not making any attempt to explain
what injury Noctis was there to treat
.

Then again, there an equal chance that'll be exposition you only get by clearing the pinball mobile game.

I liked the film. Sure it has problems but I went in with right expectations and came out happy. Then again I also liked the last 2 FF movies so maybe I have terrible taste haha. I was pretty blown away by the scale of the last fight. Honestly it's something I wanted to see in a FF setting in a long time.
Diamond wrecking absolutely everything in it's path, GG with your cannon Midgar, you got lucky

Question though,
Why was General Glaucoma so powerful? Was his suit magical or something? How come he had magic.

Isn't that kind of explained in Brotherhood episode 1?
From my understanding, it was a monster attack, which led to Noctis getting injured and his mother dying. I believe that's also why Noctis was asleep during Platinum.

FWIW the pinball mobile game's setting is you playing a bunch of hilarious superhero depictions of FF monsters taking on a comic book villain. It feels like it's pretty much fiction as far as the characters within the FFXV universe are concerned, too.

Just seen the movie and overall I enjoyed it. It definitely made me more hyped for the game especially with that post credit scene of the bros. One thing did bother me though:

Glauca literally kills Ravus's mother in front of his eyes and yet Ravus puts that on Regis for trying to escape with his son AND Luna? So what better way to get revenge on the person who killed your mother than to actually join forces with the person who killed your mother. Lol makes sense.

God this movie is so bad I got a headache.

I will still buy your game Square I've been waiting 10 years but please, please stop making CGI movies.

I guess
12 years of brainwashing by the empire does something to an emotionally vulnerable orphan.

Who directed the opening of the 2011 trailer? Nozue or Nomura? Both?

Almost certainly Nozue if we're talking about directing the production at Visualworks. But it would have been done under the direction of Nomura, who was overseeing the entire project and storyboards a lot of stuff himself. Again, it's the same difference between Advent Children and Kingsglaive. Nozue is obviously very capable at his job in directing a CG studio to get things done. But he doesn't seem very good at being a movie director.

Decided to grab this and just finished it and although it isn't the best film I thought it was alright.

I honestly enjoyed the non action parts more than the action parts. I though the story was interesting enough but definitely hampered by the action scenes. It felt like as soon as the story bits started getting interesting they throw some big action scene with so much stuff going on it's very confusing.

Visually the film was kind of all over the place. There were some times where it looks incredible but then there were a lot of times when it looked like a detailed face on a very obvious cg body. One scene in particular
When Nyx meets up with the others for drinks
where it looked really bad and strange.

I think the action scenes could have been so much better if they were toned down abit. The scene where
they are attacking the airships was cool and the stuff with the Glaives betraying each other, fighting each other was all good but then it's like here's Ultros for some reason and then it becomes less about the story and the Glaives betraying them but rather a mindless fight with Ultros it just doesn't fit

All the smaller fights with
the Titusl were also really good until the end where it's still kind of cool when Nyx and the general were fighting but then there is all this other stuff just going ape shit in the background it was too much and I didn't even notice the kings were fighting based on what Nyx and Titus were doing (or at least I think that's what was going on lol).

When they had
the kings powers and were teleporting around it was like alright I can believe that but when they lose their power and they are just normal people
some of the action stuff really become unbelievable and for me that kind of stuff broke the illusion for me.

I will say also that if FFXIV takes any costume designs from this movie for future patches I really want those Glaive outfits because they would look amazing on the Ninja class.

Nyx's ass holy FUCK.
Oh man in that one scene where
He is in his house and is getting changed
when he gets up with the leather pants or whatever on it's like his ass is glowing I almost died laughing it was like how can you not see that.
