Marvel's Luke Cage |OT| Bulletproof While Black - September 30th on Netflix

Lan Dong Mik

And why would I want them?
Do I need to finish JJ first? I liked that show a lot at first, then it went off the rails and never watched the last 3-4 episodes lol

Loved Luke Cage's character though.

Damn, I'm actually hyped. Luke Cage. If you had asked me 20 years ago I would have believed you mad. 10 years ago? A sad chuckle but it's coming folks. It's coming

PS That title. That title.

Oh man, that title.

I hope I'll enjoy it. I loved Daredevil (especially season 2) and I wasn't bored at all by Jessica Jones.

Upside, inside out he's livin la vida loca, He'll push and pull you down, livin la vida loca
In, I need this now.

Also, didn't know/remember that Sonia Braga was in this. Interesting.

Luke Cage is stronger than Jessica.. I'm guessing he can lift a car over his head. He's definitely stronger and more durable than Captain America.

- Maureen Ryan over at Variety: TV Review: ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’.
“Luke Cage” could use more focus; a few of its 13 episodes have several different quasi-endings, one awkwardly tacked onto the next, and each installment could stand to be tightened a fair bit. Some of the more unexceptional storylines and plot mechanics could be cut, [...]

Recalling those bright spots makes it easier to shrug off the show’s imperfections. But nothing is cooler than watching bullets bounce off Luke Cage as he brings the ruckus and schools all the fools.
- THR: A 'Luke Cage' Deep Dive for Newcomers.

Is there any Netflix show that hasn't outstayed its welcome over the required amount of episodes? OITNB is the only one I can think of. I was more forgiving of Daredevil S2 than most, but damn Defenders may be all the tighter for having six installments.

Awesome OT, mate!

Strapping myself onto the Cage train, baby! Now exiting the station!

Daredevil Season 1.

Better Call Saul? Although that probably can't be categorised as a straight Netflix show.

bcs is amc

stranger things but thats 8 eps

narcos i thought was good throughout

I need to watch Narcos...

I wonder if we'll get any cameos this season. They're inching closer to Defenders. There's a shot of Luke entering a church in the trailer, so here's hoping they get the awesome Priest from Daredevil back. Secret best character with the best line in the series;

Father Lantom: There is a wide gulf between inaction and murder, Matthew. Another man's evil does not make you good. Men have used the atrocities of their enemies to justify their own throughout history. So the question you have to ask yourself is are you struggling with the fact that you don't want to kill this man but have to? Or that you don't have to kill him but want to?

I continue to remain puzzled as to why they advertise that show as a "Netflix Original Series".
assuming youre from somewhere other than the us, netflix labels shows they have foreign distribution rights over as originals

for example in the us, peaky blinders gets labeled as a netflix original iirc.

as far as the show, im expecting it to have the usual marvel netflix show flaws. not really a fan of mike colter's acting and not expecting much from the action. the setting is interesting, hopefully the plot wont quite spin its wheels into jessica jones territory. mahershala ali will probably end up being the best thing about the show, looking forward to seeing him.

That's the reason why his daughter becomes the future Captain America.

And I'm ready for some fiddle faddle! Really liked Coulter in Jessica Jones.

Is this a mandatory thing to do 13 episodes ? I feared it would drag with filler nonsense like DD and Jessica Jones and the early reviews seem to indicate that.

Ah, interesting! Thanks, guys! I'm British so that would explain it. Man, that's been bugging me for ages.

Just be glad it's not 22 episodes.

I was surprised how Flash and Supergirl kept me entertained all the way through. Probably because they don't have episodes anywhere as good as DD and JJ had. The lack of peaks makes the valleys more tolerable.

This really is such a perfect time for a Luke Cage television show, and Marvel just fell into it. Its not like they were making Iron Man in 2008 knowing that Black Lives Matter would be such a big movement in 2014. They were shopping around Luke Cage / the wider Defenders deal back in 2013.

I think its going to be great. Can't wait to watch
