Saw this 2-parter at Celebration. Lots of good stuff. Doesn't have the impact of Vader in the Siege of Lothal, but then what could? Solid story overall, with some interesting things coming up.

Kind of gives me hope for a more consistent season. Season 2 opening went balls out, the following episodes couldnt live up to it. Still enjoyed season 2.

So apparently all of Season 1 and Season 2 are up for streaming on the Disney XD app. But I imagine they won't stay around for long. So get binging!

So apparently as of season 3, Filoni is no longer the supervising director but the executive producer. Justin Ridge is now the director.

I wonder if this means Filoni is being shifted to another project in secret.

I watched the season 2 finale again today in preparation, such a fantastic episode.

I'm really looking forward to season 3 starting up this week, fingers crossed we're in for a good one. Season 2 minus a few episodes felt a bit padded with filler and stuff that wasn't all that enjoyable to me, whereas I enjoyed the whole of season 1 so i'm hoping this season they'll manage to do better with the higher episode count than they did last season.

Yeah, I saw this earlier. The other animated TV show that's in the pipeline perhaps.

dark side protagonist is very interesting.

I played a light side sith in The Old Republic and it's the best. Confusing people left and right when I'm only like a sarcastic douche but don't kill people willy nilly.

I really hope it is that and not something like him being pushed out for some reason. Filoni leaving would be a huge loss for Star Wars.

As someone who hasn't really watched this show or Clone Wars...

Wow they're still riding that Maul train?!

They finally figured out how to give Maul a good story in Clone Wars.

Then they cancelled Clone Wars just when it was getting really interesting, so Filoni said, "Fuck it, I'm not done with him yet."

He's not going anywhere. He's busy with the new animated series.

A statement from an official Lucasfilm Spokesperson:

Dave is still just as involved as ever - overseeing all aspects of Star Wars Rebels production as Executive Producer and occasionally directing episodes. In many ways, mentoring Justin and moving him into the role as Supervising Director has made it possible for Dave to be even more immersed in the writing and story structure of the show as well as creatively overseeing future animation development. Justin started with Lucasfilm Animation on the first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and worked with Dave before that on Avatar: The Last Airbender, so they've been working together for quite some time.

General Dodonna was mentioned by Hera as the one whose group would receive the Y-wings. That's the same guy in charge of Yavin base in ANH.

Ezra killed 15 people this episode.
Just from watching the season 3 trailer. (and the clip where he uses the force to take over an AT-ST) watching Ezra made me a little uncomfortable.

I really don't like the sanitisation of violence that's become ubiquitous nowadays.

Pretty sure that scene was meant to make the viewer feel uneasy.

Did you ever watch TCW? The violence level was dialed up to 11 there.

I understand that the scene was meant to make me feel uncomfortable, and is meant to reflects Ezra's leaning toward the dark side the season.

I was talking about films and TV in general over the last 5, 10 years or so.

I'm sorry i didn't articulate my point better.

EDIT: I don't mean for this post to come across as antagonistic, just more frustrated with myself not being able to make my arguments better. Again sorry.

Yay interesting character directions and plot stuff, hopefully it all isnt resolved by the end of this and the show doesnt revert to episodic rebel missions like in season 2

That was a great episode with one small gripe

Implying that those were probably the Y-Wings used in the Battle of Yavin was a little silly
