Nice job, Amazon. How is it still possible in 2016 to generate credit cards that are accepted for orders? That's some 90s ass stuff.
Anyway, bought my code off of eBay before it was widely known that these keys were from the Amazon exploit thing, so I should get my money back.

Does anyone know the date the Amazon glitch happened? I'm trying to figure out if I bought the code before the glitch even happened. I purchased my code through a gaffer on Sep 21. He is saying that the code he sold me was not gotten through Amazon but through an official NVIDIA etailer. He thinks it was a mistake and is trying to see what he can do by contacting them and will refund me if he can't. I swear that was like only a day or something after the NVIDIA deal went live.
I had no idea there was even a glitch at all. I mean I paid $40 for the code because I thought that was the standard price for promotional codes like this and I think I remember the next day or two I glanced at the BST thread and saw codes going for much cheaper and felt a little bummed that I paid so much lol.
EDIT: The Gaffer does seem to be in good standing and is a Plus seller if anyone is wandering. I'm crossing all of my phalanges that he comes through. This would be the first time I've ever been burnt by a plus seller, or any Gaffer for that matter, if not. :O

Sucks for those who bought the code in good faith and dont get a refund from the sellers, but i dont mind at all that they revoked the keys. People were trying to exploit others on mistakes that were made, so they have no reason to be mad at anyone.
Live and learn, just because they didn't revoke last time doesn't mean they won't do it this time. Because of this pricing issue I was going to give Gears another shot but I guess I missed. Ah well, I'll live without that franchise. Except the board game, that's genuinely pretty good.

No, Gears of War 4 is included with Nvidia 1070 and 1080 i think, and people ordered one of these GPUs at Amazon, then instantly got the code to the game. Then they canceled the GPU order. This way they didnt have to pay anything and still get a Gears of War 4 code.

If someone stole a truck full of disc copies and sold them on the cheap, the stolen goods would be recovered without compensation to those that bought stolen shit. Digital doesn't change that.

I am primarily a PC gamer since last gen and wouldn't buy anything on the Win10 even if it were a buck. Heck even if it were free I wouldn't redeem it.
Start reading back through the thread (and my other posts if you so wish) to get a clue before you post garbage.
The annoying part is a lot of us bought our own keys with no idea it was a grey market one.
See: every gaffer who paid above $30, they thought that was other GAF members offloading their GPU key.

I'm waiting for the GAF seller to respond. If I get a refund I won't name and shame him - he's very active in the BST thread so should do the right thing.

Just checked my key. Apparently it's obtained through the glitch, contacted the seller about it. Worst case scenario I need to ask for a refund from Paypal.

I would get it for 59 instantly. 69 is just an insane price that makes no sense. I can get a physical copy for 55.

Ehh, I made a passive post on it in BST, mainly cause there was lying involved in that deal to other members. It's not right to promise members that their keys weren't from an error when they were.
(yeah, that's why I made my more or less direct post in here a few pages back, someone can feel free to tell me that it's not right to call that out if it isn't)
Exactly, I bought a key for $35 from a GAFer which is the expected price from someone selling their own personal key after buying a video card. This was before the Amazon scam was public knowledge. Of course my key was revoked since it was also gotten from the scam unbeknown to me...

The BST thread is nothing but a grey market when it comes to game keys, no one is an official re-seller on there. We have no way of knowing for sure where a key comes from on there so we just have to go by how well we trust the seller.

Yeah, sorry I phrased that badly. I actually meant if I could just get it from their store without having to switch regions, getting a code etc. I would buy it instantly.

Bought a key from a NeoGaffer as well, and he said he was trying to get a new working key, but instead I just asked for a refund (which he will issue tomorrow he said). I just don't have time for this nonsense and seeing as Forza 3 isn't quite the most optimized port out there I rather just not take the chance again.
And people wonder why the gray market flourish and people get angry when scams fuck them over as they are not allowed to keep stolen goods.
Sheesh.
Oh also, this is Amazons fuck up, not MS, get the blame right.

Do I have to make a Windows Store account? So they key isn't for a direct install of the game or through something like Steam or Unreal's website?
I ask because I never used the Windows store and I don't know how these things work. THe last time I got a key with a card was for a Ubi game which required a Uplay account.
