/lgbt/ is pretty much the only LGBT community-type-place I can tolerate these days so hopefully nothing bad happens to it!

This for fuck's sake. /r9k/ serves no purpose other than the occasional visit to laugh and feel better about yourself compared to the pathetic losers who post there.

Yup. I hope most of the people on that board are lying. Some of the stories I've seen make me hope they're getting professional help.

I'm surprised 4chan has anything respectful to say about the LGBT community.

One option could be deleting the porn boards. Because they're built on WebM posts, they cost a bundle and don't exactly make 4chan a nicer place

See I look at this and wonder if vp should be spun back into v but with the way people post on vp it would be even more hell.

Thing is that if they close /pol/ the backlash would be huge.

All the /pol/ anons would leak onto other boards and shit post like hell forever. Ruining any chance of ontopic discussion.

It's a shitty situation.

As long as /tg/ stays the same I'm okay. I love the art threads and lore discussions they have there.

Ehh, the "culture" that made 4chan fun, or maybe even worthwhile, died years ago. Just let it die so I can finally stop being disappointed by how it's ended up.

Ya, that's a selfish outlook. I guess I just lack the self control to forget about it on my own :p

I understand that's it gotta be hard to make a profit off a site that has boards like /b/, /pol/, and a wealth of NSFW boards with some of the most strange porn on the planet. But I think the general consensus is that the SFW boards are great and perpetually at the forefront of internet culture. I feel like that should be easy enough to maintain.

That's a new one.

As long as /e/ remains unchanged, I don't care what happens to 4chan. Quit going to /v/ a couple years back, only go to /a/ for buyfag threads.

/vg/ is the best videogame forum on the internet and /tv/ is the best television and film board on the internet

I find the whole "and nothing of value was lost" attitude towards 4chan, especially from people who have never visited the site, to be unfortunate. It's been years since I was a regular there so I can't attest as to how it is right now, but there was a while when I was about 16-17 where /adv/ was one of the only places I was able to be honest about my depression and suicidal ideation, because of the anonymity. And yes, obviously a lot of the responses were accusations of trolling or encouragement to go through with it, but there was a fair bit of good advice and supportiveness as well. Despite the ugly side of 4chan, I think it provided a lot of value for a lot of people through anonymous posting and, as mentioned upthread, the lack of upvoting/karma. I would be sad to see it go offline or be bought by Shkreli.

Edit: and a lot of the boards have good discussions on them. You just have to look past /b/ and the image dump boards.
