NX fan concept art thread

What if Microsoft likes Nintendo's NX hardware so much (and Nintendo likes Scorpio) that MS offers the Xbox brand to Nintendo and NX becomes the NX/Xboy.
Nintendo & Microsoft IP on the same devices. Nintendo makes games for NXboy, Xbox One, including Scorpio. All of this, a massive bid to counter Sony / PS4.

Miyamoto has a new IP cooking that's so amazing it has the potential, over time, to sell more than the Mario franchise in the coming years and decades.

complete and utter nonsensical bullshit
:)

Yeah, I don't get why we can't have an NX speculation thread. We get speculation threads and other silliness for every other goddamn thing.

Agreed. I'm still irritated that the "Everything we know about NX w/sources" thread got locked. It was such a great hub for NX discussion without splintering off into a hundred other threads. People clearly want to discuss NX, why not let them do so?

What goes on in a mental asylum hardly passes as discussion.

I got this idea where you have a normal tablet, but then it has a special casing that makes it look like a game DVD case. It literally has all of the essential contents inside when you open it up.

I think the concepts we have are all wrong. A tablet with detachable controllers is just not going to cut it as far as a console hybrid. That's merely a souped-up handheld. We are missing something, something important.

I still think that the NES Classic is a clue. Something like a portable Gamecube with an HDMI out makes the most sense to me.

Nintendo consoles have had detachable controllers since the NES.

Does this portable Gamecube have it's own screen?
If not, then that makes a lot less sense than the current consensus.

Of course it has a screen. It wouldn't be a portable console hybrid without a method of playing it portably.

Just replace the pop-up disc drive with a clam-shell screen, done. The damn thing could fit on your lap or any flat surface like a ultra portable laptop, except, you know, it's a console. Laptops have active cooling and advanced battery solutions. I suspect if this thing is a console/handheld hybrid it would need such an advanced battery, especially if the rumors of active-cooling are true.

I was a little confused on whether your objection was to the NX being essentially a handheld.

You mentioned the NES classic so I thought you meant the NX would be "portable" in the sense that it was just a really small console.

Exactly. The current mock-ups are simply tablets with controllers attached to the sides. How is that different from a Wii U? Seriously, Nintendo wants to differentiate. This NX is not going to be anything like a tablet with controllers attached to the sides. No way. Beyond the Wii U similarities, there is the problem of the conception of a tablet with controls not being anything different from a souped-up 3DS. It's simple a bigger handheld and doesn't convey this idea of a console/handheld hybrid. Now the NES Classic does, if you slap a screen on it.

Look at the NES Classic. The damn thing can fit in your lap. Put a pop-up screen on the top of the console and viola you have a portable console hybrid. The only thing missing from the NES Classic to make it a console hybrid is a built-in screen solution (and an advanced battery solution).

Except, you know, thinner housing and a wide-screen LCD.

Now imagine that thing but only pocket sized.

Seriously, y'all better keep this thread more about concept arts and less about daydreaming or this thread is gonna go again. Let be patient for the real NX leaks before starting speculation.

Think of projection touch but with a head tracking device on your head.

And here I post my rebuttal of the interpretations of what Iwata said in 2013 and 2014 considering what the link says.

http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=215923839

And then look at what he said in 2015 which is up for interpretation, making a hybrid to cover for Japanese and Overseas consumers at the same time? Or does multiple form factors of handheld and home console at launch in March 2017 supposedly solve this?

That's all mentioned in that reddit thread. But you just had to, again.
