The detachable controllers on the handheld part look tiny. It's gonna kill my enjoyment of the multiplayer-on-the-go experience if my hands cramp up when I play. Still, it was better than the Wii U's reveal. Just need to know the price and specs now.
It looks like an updated MK8 to me. I refuse to believe that the first thing that they'd show of a new Mario Kart is a retro course that's been done twice before.
If it turns out to have decent games and support from third parties, it could do gangbusters.
I'm not a portable/handheld gamer at all, though, so half of it doesn't appeal to me. I'll probably end up buying a used WiiU for Zelda and waiting to see how this turns out.
It's exactly what was rumoured and what I was expecting.
I'm glad to see there's a proper controller and it looks relatively gimmick free other than the "switch" aspect which is a relief.
Their advert focus was the most interesting thing I thought. It showed a core gamer western rpg, a sports game and an e-sports setting which is an interesting shift in priorities. No children or party games in sight.
My hands hurt from just looking at that. Local multiplayer with those tiny half controllers? Yeah, I am going pretend that doesn't exist... craggle them to the tablet and just use a pro controller.
Yikes people like this? They made WiiU 2 now more portable but no one going to use outside their house.
I admire Nintendo for trying to bridge home console and mobile gaming but this isn't going to do it and good god why are the so awful at naming things.
Skeptical in the meantime. I'm not a fan of the name but I guess the name makes sense. The Wii U had a similar reveal and everyone thought it was going to bring the second coming. Not hyped up but not 100% negative either. We will see what happens.
It's everything I could have hoped for in a hybrid. If they make it work as seamlessly as the video indicated than this is going to be my main console going forward.
Depending on the games of course... which... I mean, I don't really have to worry about that.
