TITANFALL 2 Reviews Thread

Glad it's reviewing well, but I still think they're crazy launching so close to Battlefield and CoD.

Heck, Battlefield is from the same publisher! What is EA thinking? Have they said anything about this? Almost feels like they're looking for an excuse to cancel the series.

different strokes for different folks. I have friends who dislike BF One greatly and can't wait for TF2 and those that have no interes in TF2 but love BF One.

i may buy the game if they changed one thing from the beta, the leveling system, if they bring back the normal XP leveling system and bring back the tons of challenges to do to earn XP, then i'll buy it even though they changed a lot of things that i didn't like but the leveling system is the biggest change that ruined it for me

EA Executive #1: Battlefield alone can't beat COD.

EA Executive #2: What if we launch Titanfall 2 a week after?

EA Executive #1: Genius!

wow did not expect that. I thought it would be mediocre at best. From the demo I played

Sure, but there's also a massive crossover audience that is interested in both, but might not buy both because they're releasing so close to each other.

It's just a bit of a "why would EA even do this? What's the benefit?"

I really hope the rest of the maps are good and the changes made are sufficient. The technical test took me from "Day 1" to "rent and hope I like the full game more"

Seems to be less hype for this compared to the first. Be interesting to see how it sells now it's on more platforms. Glad it's getting solid reviews.

A lot of quotes :D it was only a joke in reference of how Polygon review games.

Said that I'm curious to see the disparity compared with the first game.

I'm driving now but I read later.

Glad to see it reviewing well :)

Hopefully word of mouth helps with sales (like with Siege) if BF1 and CoD do butcher its launch sales ...

There's a Ven diagram of people that like games like Battlefield and people that like games like Call of Duty. There are a significant number of people in the intersection but they are in the minority. A lot of people that like CoD just don't have an interest in Battlefield and vice-versa. EA has tried and failed in the past to get them into Battlefield, so they've given up. They're putting out two very different shooters. Respawn also probably wants to launch the week before Infinite Warfare just to give a middle finger to Activision and Infinity Ward since they weren't able to launch in time to go up against Ghosts last time. I think this strategy is crazy but I think it could work out for them, especially with the negative reaction to the IW beta this last week.

Cautiously optimistic. Planning to wait until more of the general public gets it and I can read some more multiplayer opinions. I'm one of those that played the beta and didn't like it compared to TF1.

Same here, and I'm not quite sure these reviews alleviate my fears.

If the game's just plain different than TF1, but still good once everything's fleshed out (maps/weapons/titans we didn't have in the beta), then I'll just have to deal with it and jump in because I still love the overall concept of pilots and titans. That said, the "feel" of TF1 sure was something to behold.

😍😍😍

Very happy to hear about the positive reviews. Think my copy should be arriving tomorrow, but I am gunna be swamped with work for two weeks :(

Um doesn't it say 5? "Yet in terms of design and pacing, the five-hour campaign is fantastic. It begins with a botched mission on the planet Typhon"

I know that's not much better but still, hopefully it really isn't as short as BF1's mini campaigns added together were. It feels like most games in general now a days are having 5 hours or less campaigns, beat Gears 4 in that amount of time as well too.
They mentioned 4 hours in the video review.

Which I'm totally fine with, most shooter campaigns are far too long to begin with, and I don't really agree with the 8-hour sweetspot necessarily either.

Really dislike the changes they made from tf1. Would be interesting to see how many reviewers are new to the series. I would expect those to be higher.

I'm really psyched to see the positive reviews, I bought it on PS4 but have been considering double dipping on PC depending on the PS4 performance. My only concern would be population on PC, Titanfall died out quick and the PC community seems to be in love with BF1/Overwatch atm already.

Best analysis I've read on the release date situation. Thanks.

Hopefully the PC community is strong :X

I know the more popular streamers ( LIRIK,etc).. are getting it on PC and streaming it so hopefully that attracts more people and NVIDIA / RAZER have been promoting the game like crazy on their new products.
