It's almost like the script writers didn't know about the two timelines and the two different versions of Trunks. GT Trunks definitely did have a sword (it's in the OP, like you said) but he never used it in the show. Trunks seems to often be a victim of the animation team and Toriyama miscommunicating. Sword or no sword? Gun? How old is he? Which Trunks is this? WHAT COLOR HAIR DOES HE HAVE?the tapion movie is cool, but the bit where he gives trunks the sword and then it's highly suggested in the credits that it's the same sword future trunks uses makes like no sense at all
i guess he could have given it to a trunks who grew up to be GT trunks but he only uses his sword in the opening credits and never brings it to space with him, iirc
in fact toriyama never drew him with his sword in his gt sketches. he drew him using a gun though. lmao
pretty much the only animated sequences of GT trunks using his sword are in the GT OP and in the FMVs for the GT ps1 game
i hope present trunks gets a sword in super, if we're talking our pie-in-the-sky dreams for the show. if they indeed include the tapion thing then that would be fairly rad

Probably the best way they can have Goku be stronger than Vegeta again. Probably end up being Zen-Oh's tournament though then a time skip?

It really depends on how the tournament will be laid out I think. If the teams are smaller than the previous tournament I could see the arc happing before the end of Z, but if they are the same size I'd really hope it'd be after the end of Z so that Uub and Pan could take part.

I'm impressed that they managed to write a villain more dangerous than Beerus (as he is literally immortal) while also making him beatable at the same time through the Mafuba.

that's the reason why I was reluctant to watch super in the first place... like lmao everyone wants a time skip we want to see some of these characters grow up already.
THE KIDS can't keep getting smaller every five episodes they will CEASE TO EXIST by the time we get to End of Z in Super.
