Yeah, I'm not complaining! I do have the feeling this might be them pulling a fast one and she dies in the first chapter before you switch to robo-boy or something though.
January 2017 release in Japan. Figured it was slipping to 2017, surprised it was by so little though.

Heh, like how they switched the protag. Also cool that it'll be a girl this time around for a mainline game.
The snippets of other characters and Kumas we saw looked cool as well.

From the small bit of dialogue they showed from Kaede she seems a bit more determined from the get-go than Makoto or Hajime. In the class trial her line is "I'll definitely find out who did this before this trial's up!"
Also robo-boy is giving me Nagito vibes in the trial sequence.

Nope. Granted they did the traditional DR trailer thing of minimizing information presented (such as explicitly blocking out character names besides the protagonist's.)

Either way, nice to see them switching up the protag in both gender (AE was a spin-off) & personality. Also aaaaahhhhhhh, please confirm a date for the US, NISA. It's gonna be hell trying to avoid spoilers for this, though I've been lucky with avoiding spoilers for the other three games.
Also digging the new UI & glad they kept the "cardboard" style.

Dear Lord, that trailer was amazing. Really digging the aesthetics and the graphical upgrades. The character design is amazing as always, specially the female lead, she looks simple and relatable. Most anticipated game of all time.
I dont want to know anything about this game. It will be hard to avoid spoilers this time.

It's not HPA, but isn't this supposed to be a Prison School or something? Whatever the case, I wouldn't be surprised if they had some sort of title.
I think it fits really nicely with the Pop Horror aesthetic Kodaka goes for, so I'm glad he kept it too.

Things seem to be shaping nicely for V3. It's going to be hell to avoid spoilers before a NA localization, which I don't see happening before the last quarter of 2017.
He said he was going on vacation for three weeks, curiously the remaining time for the anime broadcast. I can only imagine why.

Has anyone played the Danganronpa Unlimited Battle phone game?
Finished chapter 4 in part 2.
Was pretty easy except for two parts.
1. The escape game. I got it stuck in my head that the numbers were binary and I was trying to figure how to deal with numbers over 9. Talked to monomi and it was outright spoiled, I was disappointed in that.
2. I forgot gundam was staying in a deluxe room, so I didn't catch onto that he was the real killer.

That TOTALLY sucks! It outright spoils it. I was so disappointed too... But didn't make that much of a fuss about it because I wanted to finish that chapter as soon as possible

"... And the deluxe rooms are soundproof...", I totally saw that as a gimmick for the next murder
I didn't enjoy that chapter that much, but the revelations near the end made it worth it.

So it is just a tech demo. Well, I didn't expect Spike Chunsoft to channel resources to a VR experiment with a limited target. It may be an interesting afterthought.
LE for DRV3 confirmed for Japan. Wonder if we'll get most, if not all the same stuff that Japan's getting.

I can see us getting everything except maybe the calendar. Even then they might include that with dates for the western release year.
We also might get less tracks depending on how many they put on the CD.
I loved the ending of 2. Kodaka did a fantastic job with DR2's writing, and it is one of my favorite games. If you haven't already, I would recommend reading Danganronpa Zero. It definitely strengthened my appreciation for 1 & 2.
Ya I liked it way better than the original's ending. I loved how they used the gameplay mechanics at the end to tie into the narrative, much like Crisis Core did at the end. I even got that post good game depression "What now". Looks like your post might of solved that.

Edit: LE is already up for pre-order on NISA's site. From what I can tell, it's basically a combination of both LEs for DR1 & DR2. NISA has confirmed that the artbook is both artbooks put together & the coin and sunglasses are the same one from the 2nd LE.

NISA confirmed with me via Twitter that yes, the LE for Reload has basically all the content from both Vita LEs, with the only difference being the packaging.

I think the issue is that they didn't bother to redo the spirtes for proper 1080p and instead are just using the Vita sprites again. They went through the effort to upres everything to 540p (from 240p on the PSP) for the Vita rereleases, but it seems, just like the PC version, they're just sticking with those 540p sprites and CGs for the PS4 rather than going through the effort and making everything proper 1080p, resulting in a blurry, low quality image for anything not rendered in 3D. It's especially apparent in the class trials I find.
I mean maybe they lost all the original art assets since 2013 and they can't recreate them in higher resolutions but I really doubt that. They use high res art of the characters and some CGs in promos so they surely exist, they just aren't putting the effort in to actually put them in the game itself and it's a huge bummer. I suppose this is a western initiative though given how this hasn't been announced in Japan yet (just like the PC version) and the original devs can't be bothered to send some high res assets their way... who knows.
You'd think at least the text could be updated but even that is still 540p, lol. This just seems kinda low effort, it will get the job done for sure but it could (and should) be even better.
I'm part of the problem though, I really want that LE since I never got the ones for the original Vita releases. >_>

Some of this is why I would have liked the progression into (good) 3D models for Danganronpa instead of sticking with the 2D sprites. The modern Ace Attorney series is an example of how this would benefit the presentation of the classroom trials, with more dynamic camera angles and unique animations to complement what is going on.
