install went fine for me, what gpu do you have?

i5 6600K
16GB
980Ti
Edit2: W10 64bit

Only thing that changed between restarts was NVidia drivers. After system was able to revert back into week old snapshot which were with older NVidia drivers system booted without any issue.

Edit: I'm glad that issue isn't affecting everyone, rarely does. Still having to pray that system doesn't go into infinite BSOD loop borderline forcing reinstall of system isn't good thing. Quality of NV drivers has taken insane nose dive. People still praising their drivers as best in industry just look fools at this point.

did you use ddu before installing the new driver?

I never do. I just uninstall driver, restart, install new driver and restart again. Second restart was where shit went sideways this time. I have never heard use of DDU being widely recommended because you are supposed to take quite a few safety steps.

DO NOT INSTALL LATEST DRIVERS!!!

I just got out of 20 minutes of BSOD looping after installing those drivers. Fucking shitshow of drivers from NV, again.

Huh, I express installed them through GFE, no problems here, on GTX 1080, Win 10 etc

Same for me. No problem. Just played Skyrim SE for an hour with the new drivers. Everything seems stable so far. And the game seems a bit smoother now too. No conclusions drawn there yet tho. Still drops frames outdoors sometimes.

I installed them the second I saw the update, that was awhile ago and my PC is quite stable and Skyrim SE runs locked 60.

I didn't notice any drops below 60 on my 970 with the 372.xx drivers, but I'm getting them now after updating to 375.70. Probably just going to wait until Mod Organizer and more mods are compatible before diving back in, I guess.

What do you mean? Did you start getting BSOD's after installing and then playing Skyrim or immediately after installing them? I installed them a couple hours ago and had no issues.

mod organizer will probably never support the special edition from what i read, it being a 32 bit application

Moment drivers were done installing I restarted PC and got into BSOD hell. Didn't get to try anything with drivers when it comes to gaming. Was headache to get system back up.

Edit: Basically same what happened with... was it FO4 drivers. Some people got infinite BSOD loops after installing said driver and restarted or started their PC next time.

Tried this today and never moved from 60fps with i5 4690k overclocked to 4.5ghz and 980. Must admit was nice to revisit one of my fave worlds and made me smile, seeing so many familiar places and people, cannot wait to get stuck right in when i have some free time.

It's locked to 60 by default, it's what the game was designed to run at :p.

I installed the drivers earlier, and have had no issues. I've played Skyrim SE, Titanfall 2, BF1 and GTA V today without issue.

Restarted PC yet? It's where shit went bad for me.

I restarted after my driver update. You must have installed something else before the drivers that caused BSOD on startup. I always restart after any driver install even though nowadays they don't tell you to restart.

I restarted after updating. Downloaded from the websites, installed over the previous ones. Chose clean install. If this was widespread i'm sure the Geforce forums would be flooded with the issue, but i couldn't see anything.

Do you use multimonitor? I recall there was an issue a while back in May: http://venturebeat.com/2016/03/07/some-nvidia-users-report-blue-screen-of-death-crashes-following-geforce-driver-update/

Were you prompted to restart after the update? Mine went through without asking for a restart, so i restarted anyway.

If it was something else than NV driver then BSOD loop would have triggered when I restarted after uninstalling old drivers. It triggered only after I had installed new drivers, nothing else, and restarted. Didn't even get to see login screen of Windows.

It doesn't prompt when installing driver, only after uninstalling ones. Just habit I have gotten into.

Geforce GTX780, 8GB Ram, Windows 7. Runs like a dream on Ultra with close to 60 FPS and no other issues.

Am I just lucky?

How did you uninstall the previous drivers? Using DDU or just add/remove programs? Uninstalling before updating isn't really needed unless you start running into problems like driver crashes.

There is always a slight chance that using something like DDU might fuck up something in the registry. Probably not what happened if your issue got fixed after just reinstalling your driver though. What i would do now is to try and install the latest drivers again. That way you can actually easily reproduce the issue and you'll know for sure it's the driver and not something else in your system.

Which menu elements does it get cut off at?

Cuts off top and bottom of the main "TAB" interface, so for example you can't see some of the trading window, equipment, amount of gold, etc... it's quite annoying.

Edit: It looks like there won't be SkyUI for Skyrim SE which is a terrible affair. I may go back to regular edition. Haven't really even finished Skyrim vanilla (always got caught up in mods) and was waiting for SE to release to do a full run but there is 0 chance i can deal with default interface.

^ This seems bad.
I haven't played Skyrim at all yet and now I'm torn as to which version to play (on PC).
Don't like hearing about all these drawbacks on the SE.

True enough but considering it was at ultra i thought it would dip below 60 but apart from once it went to 59 for a teeny microsecond that was it.

Oh, for some reason I read it as you being disappointed it didn't go above 60 lol :p

SKSE is in the works though and the SkyUI fellow said he's open to letting others port it over, he just lost interest himself. It even says so in the post quoted on the page that he's more than willing to upload a ported version, if someone else does it. Something tells me the interest is there :p and as I said, SKSE is the biggest hurdle and there's a team actively working on it, so I wouldn't worry so much, just be patient :)

For some it can be. These issue with NV drivers never been 100% occurring. Some just get short straw with some versions. I just tend to warn about this stuff.

No problem here. Installed the new drivers just before playing with the Skyrim SE and played fine for a couple of hours.

Getting around 100-110 in the intro at Ultra settings, but I was getting pretty severe stutters a few times in the wagon ride down the hill. Also had a weird problem where, before creating your character, looking in the direction of the headsman dropped my framerate down into the 20's for no apparent reason. No idea what was going on there.

That's a lot of "maybe" :(. I'll give it a shot with the vanilla interface, but man, it sucks. I did find a temporary "fix" on reddit for 21 x 9 hud issue. Well, it sucks, but basically you set the resolution to 16 x 9 and 2560 x 1440 (if you have 3440x1440 monitor) and then you set iLocation x=440 and iLocation y=0 (under display section of skyrim.ini) offset which will center the image on the monitor vs having it sit on the left. It will obviously leave empty space to the left/right of the centered image but it's probably better vs cut off hud (not sure but will give it a shot).

Same here, GPU usage went up tp 99%, and got a few brief dips to around 40fps. Didn't last long, though. Still, GPU usage in general seems higher than you'd expect for a prettied-up version of a game from 2011. But then again, this is Bethesda.

Turn down God Rays. It was the same in Fallout 4.

Only way I can go down from 99% GPU usage is by lowering godrays and distance object detail, otherwise it's just 99 all the time, tho object detail makes the framerate tank much more than any other setting lol, it's so dumb.

I literally get higher fps with everything on + distance object detail at low than the reverse, everything turned off but object distance detail on medium or above and my fps tanks to 45 and GPU usage is at 99%, bottlenecking my CPU. It doesn't strike me as normal behaviour.

So image quality is 100% better in borderless window mode, full screen is horrendously blurry. What's going on? Does the TAA only work in full screen mode?

TAA definitely works in borderless, try turning it off and comparing, night and day difference, I wasn't to big on the blur introduced at first, but it really gets the job done with the jaggies

Runs pretty well and in check with my expectations but I need to get like a 10fps boost for stable 4K60 on my 1080. Did anyone determine what has the most impact on performance / least impact on fidelity?

After a couple of hours of play the framerate goes completely cuco. If I stay still it's 60 fps, but as soon as I move my mouse the game becomes all stuttery. Like, crazy crazy stutter. If I restart the game everything goes back to normal. Anyone else having this problem?
