Wait. What?
How exactly does American voting work then?
With a stupid, insane system that has multiple times resulted in the candidate with the most votes ultimately losing the election.

So what's the qualification to run for POTUS? Maybe you can run too?
Serious question: What happened to r/hillaryclinton? There's no new posts at all, nothing along the lines of "we did what we could" or something just nothing...

So Trump can obtain the highest office in the US without any political experience then why the fuck do I need a degree and 2 yrs experience for a help desk job?
We wake up with a Trump presidency and as much as most just want to take the easy way out and say "fuck you/fuck x voter/fuck x demographic", political engagement starts NOW to seriously look at the democratic party and why Hillary tanked.
America Fuck Yeah!
Democracy ladies and gentlemen!
Everything is going to be all right.
Or maybe another fine american tradition will save us all...killing presidents.
At least 35, American born, no felonies, small hands.

After tonight? Inevitable. He won't see out Trump's presidency on the sidelines.
This guy's approval rating when he leaves office will be in the single digits. Mark it down.
Congratz america, you just became a second Russia. Actually, at least Putin knows how to behave himself publicly. You fucked yourself and you fucked a good part of the rest of the world and I can only hope that "he tells it like it is" was worth it all. Well fucking done.
Huh, Biden made his own choice. Nothing to do with Obama.
I see Mr. Thrifty didn't even spring for Black Label.
I agree, but I also think e.g. downplaying the influence of sexism (e.g. on public image), as some are already doing, is not helpful either.

Bush 2 had two Ivy League degrees....Really? Education is not important? The more you know...
I don't even think it needs to be worded like that, not to mention saying it that way caused many people to go into uproar.

I do love surprises. What if he ends up being a pretty good president?
What if he ends up being a pretty good president?
It certainly isn't, but at this point it becomes white noise for serious looks at rebuilding the democratic party and getting the candidate right for 4 years time. Another campaign led on simply smearing/going after the opponent candidate won't work, no matter how much it may be deserved.
America is kind of like the UK in that more weight is given to some states due to their size.
If gay marriage got to the supreme court again and was overturned what would happen to existing same sex marriages?
I do love surprises.
Seems like a stunning repudiation of:
Neoliberalism
Globalization
Inclusiveness
It's obvious why she tanked. people want real change (whatever that may mean).
Much like Brexit, I think many people saw this as a chance to give the system a shake more than anything else. Years of dissatisfaction will do that to people, and I understand that desire very much.
The democratic party did not go out and vote for Trump so not sure why you think this isn't a demographic problem.
Democracy was a mistake.

It happens in the UK all the time, Scotland votes for the SNP, rUK votes Conservative and we get a Conservative government because of the size of England. Hence why me and many others want Scottish independence. England votes Brexit, Scotland votes remain, Scotland has to Brexit.
