I don't even remember Eggman laughing in the games until Sonic Adventure, unless you count the laugh in the music from Sonic CD as him.

The series was wholly chuckle-less until Knuckles came along.
Eggman laughed each time you took damage in Sonic 1, 2 for some bosses, and CD.

It was Azure Dream that said it. I've never had the guts to unlock Super Hard Mode in Sonic Heroes.

I'd second the "Sonic Heroes is maybe better on easier difficulties." Sonic Heroes suffers the same problems a lot of Sonic Team's games of that era have in that you can tell they were really struggling on how to stretch the game out. So a lot of levels have the same rooms/areas literally cut-and-pasted multiple times so they could more easily add length to the game.

But then you end up running in to levels that are 10-15+ minutes long as you near the end of the game. If you play as Team Rose, one of their levels is never over five minutes, which is as it should be.

That's why if I ever decide to replay Sonic Heroes (yeah right) it'd just be Team Rose and that's it. Team Dark was the worst of the bunch with some of the longest levels that just dragged on forever, and then Team Chaotix which was just a slog to get through with the objectives.

Can't wait for the final version.

After trying the demo today I am definitely exited for the final version. Game has the Sega style that we all know and love.

Yo uh question because I know several people in here have simular interests. So I was finally gonna go around and buy Pac-Man championship edition 2, I saw the reviews... aren't that great? Is that game not good, because I hope its good because that makes me sad

The changes from DX are divisive, and it has a higher learning curve to boot. I came to love the game once I got used to it, but I'll admit that not everyone is going to.

One of the best soundtracks of the year, though.

Hmm this might be one of those games I have to try out myself to just see. Thanks for responding. Sound track being great was a given, you can't fluke pac steps

Course, if you get hit three times without picking up a second ring, that first ring will phase through the floor instead of bouncing, and what then, huh

What then

(At least, I think that's how it works, but I can't find anything backing me up on that)

Also, please use .gifv instead of .gif for imgur links. That way, people get smaller and better quality mp4 or webm video, if the browser supports it.

GIFV's aren't supported by the IMG link. As far as I know the only was to make it embed well is to use the Chrome Extention NEOGFY, which will switch the GIF into a GIFV from Imgur?

Anyway, got back into making Fan Game videos again, messing with VMWare as very old Klik & Play games just don't function very well (or at all) on newer OS, so redid this one.

I recently read the 2nd Sonic Mega Drive issue. It was good, but the first issue really stands out for its concept of being a tribute to classic Sonic.
The 3rd and final issue will release next year and I plan on getting that one as well.

Maybe he's talking about gamefaqs karma!

Wasn't it a reference to his pre-Sonic Adventure bio that stated (or maybe just implied) that he was "religious"? Or perhaps it was meant to convey a deep sense of spirituality or even just super into the supernatural? I swear there was something like that in there.

I assumed it was continuing the hero-for-hire thing they had going through the whole song. If you've got it coming, he's the one that'll bring it to you (as long as he got paid for it), that sort of thing.

I've always wondered what prompted Sonic Team to bring back the Chaotix in Heroes. Is there an interview about it?
https://web.archive.org/web/20040330042803/http://www.egmmag.com/article2/0,2053,1507899,00.asp

EGM: Team Chaotix's gameplay is quite different than the other three teams'. Why did you decide to bring back these characters and give them fun, silly goals like rounding up hermit crabs?

TI: In my mind, I didn't bring back the Team Chaotix characters from the past -- instead, they're new characters who happen to fit into the game. I wanted to create at least one team that was totally different from how Team Sonic talks and acts. Those three characters, Charmy, Espio, and Vector... they're so unique in their actions, personalities, and goals. They add a lot of flavor and variety to the overall picture. There's also the fact that those characters have never been used by Sonic Team -- we weren't involved with Knuckles Chaotix; some other internal sega Development team did that. So it's not a matter of bringing up old characters... we recreated those characters from the ground up. We want Sonic to be Sonic, and for the others to be supporting characters. I'm very happy with the way Team Chaotix turned out, so I hope they'll be brought back to another title in the future. You'll see more of them!

When will Sonic Team reinvent Honey the Cat?

I genuinely had no idea Honey the Cat was a thing until now, boy just imagine if a couple of long lost Sonic Gaffers saw that design enter their modern games. We'd never hear the end of it.
